Chapter 517: Buy A Mall
“Do you think they have already done it?” looking at Nora’s gossipy face, Alric did not know whether to laugh or to cry.

He flicked her forehead with a deep sigh. “You are still young to be interested in these kinds of things. Focus more on your studies.” Nora rubbed her forehead where he had hurt her and glared at him with a pout.

“How could you be so cold? Are you not interested in their love life at all?” no! He was not. But he could not understand why she was so attentive to the sex life of others.

“If you are so interested in it, how about we do it too.” he asked with a gimminer in eyes. Nora paused and turned to look at him with her eyes narrowed. But he did not feel shame at all.

“Why?” Nora narrowed her eyes at him, trying to sound annoyed, but the pink rising on her cheeks betrayed her. “Are you trying to change the subject or just trying to distract me?”

Alric grinned, tilting his head. “Is it working?”

She rolled her eyes with a dramatic huff, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear. “You are impossible.”

“And yet, you are enjoying it. Aren’t you?” he teased and she frowned looking away.

“No. But I am considering it,” she muttered, though her smile tugged at the corners of her lips. Her gaze softened slightly as she looked at him. his lazy grin, the way his hair fell into his eyes, the warmth in them even when he was being infuriating. Oh, she loved this foolish man so much.

“Fine if you are requesting it so much!” Then, on a sudden impulse, she leaned forward. Alric stared at her sweet face. Even when she acts like this, he loves her. She slowly closed the distance between them. His breath caught when her face was mere inches away. He could feel her warmth, see every detail of her lashes, the curve of her mouth, the faintest glimmer of mischief in her eyes.

He instinctively closed his eyes for the kiss. But even after seconds had passed, the kiss he was waiting for did not come.

Alric opened his eyes slowly, only to find Nora standing just out of reach, her lips curled into a mischievous smile.

She laughed softly, eyes twinkling with amusement. “You really thought I would kiss you that easily?”

He groaned, running a hand through his hair with an exaggerated sigh. “You have become cruel to me too.” he muttered.

Before she could respond, he reached out, gently caught her wrist, and spun her around until her back touched the nearby wall. She gasped, wide-eyed, as he leaned in, one hand on the wall beside her, the other still holding hers.

“Now that was just evil,” he murmured, his face inches from hers. “I think you owe me compensation for all the teasing.”

Her brows rose as she looked up at him, trying to appear unaffected. “Oh? And what compensation would satisfy you, my lord?” she asked, feigning innocence.

His expression shifted to less playful, more serious, though the spark in his eyes remained. “A marriage,” he said simply. “Now that you have all grown up, I think it’s time that I tie you with myself before you run away.”

Nora blinked, stunned. For a moment, her breath caught in her throat. Her teasing smile faded as his words sank in.

“A-Are you being serious right now?” she asked, her voice a whisper. Her cheeks turned a brilliant shade of pink.

Alric only nodded as his eyes fell on her blushing face. His heart filled with joy. How he wanted to have his way with her so that he could have kids. They would keep her busy at home. He could not help but imagine Nora singing a lullaby for their daughters as he patted the girl to sleep.

She let out a flustered laugh, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “What kind of proposal is that?” she mumbled. “You should kneel… and at least take out a ring, or are you being stingy after losing a few millions?” Alric raised a brow and then took out his phone.

“I was thinking of gifting a whole mall to you. But since you only want a ring, let me arrange it now as you desire, my lady.” He chuckled, brushing her cheek with the back of his fingers. ” I will do it as you want.”

Despite her embarrassed grumble, her heart swelled. Her lips curved into a soft, bashful smile. The thought of being with him truly, for life made her chest feel warm and full.

She nudged him lightly with her forehead. “I do not want a mall. But I want it to be more romantic. And remember it should be beautiful. You would only get the ring back if it’s pretty.”

“I will make sure it is the most beautiful one in the whole country,” he whispered.

And this time, when she leaned in, the kiss wasn’t a tease. Alric felt blessed at this moment. He wanted nothing more than this in his life. But their sweet moment was stopped by the knock on the door.

Adam knocked thrice before opening the door. He was stunned when the first thing he saw was Alric’s glaring face.

“I… you have called me but you did not speak up. So I came to check if everything was fine.” hearing that, Nora who was hiding behind Alric laughed.

“Oh, your boss called you to buy the largest mall in Ashton city.” The man was left stunned. But since the words had come from Nora, he did not doubt them.

“Are we developing a new line? Sir, if you want to invest in malls, i will advise you instead of going for the largest, you should buy those who did not earn enough and then develop them so that we can earn more profit. The largest one is arealy..”

“Leave..! I will tell you what to buy, later.”
