Return Of The Heiress For Revenge - Chapter 516
Chapter 516: I Want You!
Max swallowed hard, his eyes never leaving hers. “I am scared too, Nat,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “I am scared that the moment you walk away, I will lose the only person who I see as my family.”
He took a breath and looked at her. His eyes were shaky and vulnerable. “But I love you. And I know I can’t erase everything that’s happened. I can’t change the past. But I am standing here, begging you to give me a chance. I promise there will be no more lies or hiding.”
Nat looked away, her hands curled into fists on her lap. The silence between them stretched painfully. Her lips parted once, then closed. She couldn’t speak.
Max’s gaze dimmed. He nodded slowly, forcing a broken smile. “It’s okay,” he said softly, starting to pull his hand back. “You don’t have to say anything. I just needed to try.”
But just as he began to shift away, she caught his wrist firmly.
She looked up and spoke. her voice barely a whisper. “I feel safe around you.”
Max froze. Those five words hit deeper than any declaration could. His breath caught, and something fragile and beautiful flickered in his expression. His voice trembled as he said, “That’s enough for me, Nat. That’s more than I ever thought I would get.”
His hand closed around hers again. “Stay please. You don’t have to decide everything tonight. Just stay here, with me. let me show you what it’s like to be loved without conditions.”
She didn’t speak, but she didn’t let go either.
Max leaned forward, his forehead resting gently against hers. “I will take care of you,” he whispered. “I will take care of your baby too. I will be the family you both need. I swear you won’t have to carry everything alone anymore.”
Nat’s chest tightened. Her heart ached with how badly she wanted to believe him. To trust again and start a new life, for her and for him. She closed her eyes, leaning into the quiet warmth between them.
“I am giving you this one chance,” she whispered, her voice steady but sharp with warning. “Only one! If you lie to me, if you betray what I’m giving you tonight, I will leave you.”
Her eyes opened and locked with his, fierce and full of promise.
“I’ll leave. And you’ll never find me again.”
Max nodded solemnly, a quiet reverence in his expression. “You won’t have to,” he said. “Because I won’t give you a reason to run.”
Max watched her, his chest rising and falling with each shallow breath. His other hand came up slowly, hesitantly, brushing a loose strand of hair from her cheek. Like always, she did not flinch away from his touch.
He took that as permission and let his hand linger, his fingers tracing the curve of her jaw gently, reverently.
“You are here,” he whispered, more to himself than to her. “You are really here.”
“I guess I have nowhere to go now.” she leaned forward, resting her forehead against his again, their breaths mingling in the narrow space between them. His hand slipped down to her waist slowly and carefully. He gave her every chance to pull away but she did not. Instead, she shifted closer, her knees brushing his. “Max,” she said softly, “this time you will not take any decision without telling me.”
“Never! You would be the boss in the house. I will follow Alric’s footsteps.” he inhaled her scent and it made him dizzy.
Their lips met, slowly. This hime he was in no rush, no desperation. He just wanted to share her warmth, softness and wanted her to forget all the pain of the world.
Her hand found the back of his neck, pulling him closer. He deepened the kiss only when she pressed against him, her body melting into his. His arms wrapped around her as if trying to shield her from everything that had ever hurt her. He guided them down gently to the couch, his hands never straying too far, always asking with every motion if she wanted to continue. One hesitation and he would let her go.
And Nat answered not with words, but with touches, her fingers tracing the lines of his back, her lips moving against his with growing confidence. This wasn’t about lust. It was about finding something in the brokenness, something human, something real.
Max kissed her shoulder, the side of her neck, his breath catching each time she shivered. “Let’s get married before you change your decision.” he whispered into her skin. “Let’s start a new life.”
Nat closed her eyes and let herself believe it that she could have a family too with him. A family where she could live happily and get all the warmth she deserved.
Max’s breath hitched as Nat’s fingertips brushed along the side of his neck, her touch feather-light and searching. She was still trembling, cautious, yet full of something raw and vulnerable.
He met her gaze, eyes dark with emotion. “If you want me to stop…”
“I don’t,” she breathed, interrupting softly. Her voice was quiet, but resolute. “I just want it to be real.”
His expression softened, and he pressed his forehead to hers again, eyes fluttering shut. “Then I will give you all of me. So that you can keep it safe.”
He kissed her once more, slower now, deeper. His hands moved along her waist with reverence, feeling the shape of her, learning her again like a prayer. Her breath caught in her throat when his lips trailed to her jaw, then lower, down the curve of her neck, where he lingered.
Her hands explored too. one resting on his chest, feeling the rapid beat of his heart, the other slipping under the hem of his shirt, her fingers brushing warm skin. He hissed softly at the contact, not from discomfort, but from how deeply it stirred something in him.
“Tell me if it’s too much,” he whispered into the hollow of her throat, his voice husky and shaken.
“You’re not,” she replied, her voice a little breathless. “I want this. I want you.”
