Chapter 1349: Making Arrows!
“We need to adapt,” William simply said, “we’ll change our tactic. Instead of focusing on the monsters, we shall first focus on the dark masters…”
“But…”
“I know, the monsters will have enough time to evolve, but we have little choice here,” William inwardly sighed, “it’s better if we used the Novice kingdom as the base, clear it first off monsters, then move outside and attack monsters from there.”
“Does that mean there are no dark master forces in the kingdom?” she gave him a weird look, and he simply nodded.
“I kept working on killing them for a long time, they aren’t in that kingdom.”
“You should have worked harder over the surrounding places,” she chuckled, as the entire situation was still looking amusing to her, “now we need to gather an army to follow us, right?”
“No need,” William shook his head, while a thick gathering of mountains and hills started to appear at the far distance, “we already have thirty-five scattered armies in these regions.”
“You still plan to fight solo,” she laughed, “let’s see how well you will do!”
“The one saying that is the same master who got defeated by me,” William laughed as well, reminding her of how the two initially met. And his remark left Becky speechless, not knowing what to say!
“Let’s wait here,” unlike what she expected, William suddenly stopped moving.
“What are you doing?!” She gave him a weird look when he took out lots of stuff. She saw anvil, ovens, and lots of stuff related to forging, “don’t tell me you are going to forge something here!”
“I searched the area, and even though Sara and the masters on her side are fighting hard, they aren’t in any serious trouble yet,” William didn’t stop taking out lots of things. He first took out forging gears, then started to take lots of ores, and started to arrange them according to how he planned to use them.
“Nah, it’s not the main reason,” Becky crossed her arms, while giving William a look full of doubt, “you won’t move until the dark masters appear, right?”
“That’s one of the reasons,” William started to work over melting down the ores, “if you want to help, then make yourself useful and start cleansing these ores with me.”
“…” she was startled by how dead serious he was. She thought he would move fast and attack once he came here. Yet it looked as if he expected the dark masters to make a move. Seeing there was not a single dark master force out there made him stop what he intended to do.
Instead, he thought of making out something while waiting! She couldn’t believe how relaxed he was! Even if he was standing this close from such deadly battles.
Becky couldn’t grasp what this young master in front of her eyes lived through to have his spirit hardened in such a way! Even if she was in his shoes, she would never hesitate to move out and join the fight!
As for standing here and forging something, this was out of the world for her. She would never even consider doing such a thing, not to mention forging required lots of focus and calm of spirit that she couldn’t understand how William enjoyed at these moments!
“I’ll handle the cleansing then,” as cleansing the melted ores didn’t require anything but the use of brutal strength with few techniques, she agreed on doing this. As for everything else, William was the one responsible for.
He didn’t need to melt lots of materials, as he already processed tons of ores before. All he needed to do was to melt them down again, let Becky cleanse them, while he would handle making the final forms and assembling the weapons.
“Arrows?! You are making arrows?!!” what he was doing didn’t escape her keen senses. She instantly recognised what he was building, and when she considered the ores he used, her thoughts jumped over one conclusion; “they are explosive arrows! Of fine grade on top of that!!”
She was startled to realise what he was making. Such arrows weren’t uncommon in the upper realm, but the quality in which William was forging them left her speechless! “Were you a disciple of an old forging monster perhaps?!”
She couldn’t help but ask this after a few hours. William was in his monstrous form, with four tails holding hammers that he acquired from the loot of the upper realm.
He kept flashing around, constantly helping her in cleansing the new ores he melted down. The speed of his work was unparalleled, like a seasoned forge master in the upper realm!
If not for the limitations he had for the materials he got, she was sure the arrows he was forging would jump a few grades. Yet William totally ignored her remarks and focused on pouring the cleansed and melted down ores over the molds he had.
As for the arrow shafts, he already had tons of these ready. All he did was to wait for the melted ores to cool off, then assemble the arrows.
He didn’t work without keeping a close eye over the progress of the ongoing harsh battles in the mountainous region.
Sara and her faction masters were indeed having hard times. The main problem they faced was related to the tough terrain they were fighting at. The mountains and hills stopped them from regrouping, while it served as best cover for the monsters, letting them hide and sneakily attack the masters from unexpected places.
Yet as William said it before, there wasn’t much threat over their lives. The worst was for them to keep retreating from time to time, losing a few masters with every clash, while not killing that many monsters.
If anyone was in the middle of these heated up battles, then he or she would feel threatened. But for William and Becky who were watching from far, they knew this wasn’t true.
With time passing, Becky realised that William made the right call. Seeing how the masters trapped in the region fought for all this time without losing much was enough evidence on that.
