Becky stood silently on the side, watching all this progress while keeping her feelings under control. She didn’t need to ask to know whom that crown belonged to.

She didn’t know William for that long, yet seeing what Anjie did just now made her feel a bit jealous! “I already feel sorry for any girl trying her chances with him,” she sighed, while waiting to see how he would respond and react to such an unexpected gesture.

“I want you to take it,” after almost ten minutes, Anjie finally regained control over her emotions. She slowly pushed herself away from his embrace, while gently looking at his eyes.

“I don’t want it, I don’t need it,” William took a step forward, cutting the gap she created and put her into his arms again, “you take it, how about that?”

“It’s not about who takes it, it’s an indicator for their kingdom to surrender!” Becky wanted to shout ‘you idiot’ in the middle of all her words, but she controlled herself. She couldn’t believe that youngster was this thick headed and missed the entire meaning behind such an obvious move!

“I know,” William rolled his eyes, before glaring in a warning way to Becky.

“It’s as she said,” Anjie pushed away from his arms, wiped her tears, before leaning to get the crown and handed it to him, “just take it.”

“Ok,” William got it, before he put it on her head, “on the condition you’ll keep wearing it!”

“It’s not an item with any powers,” she took it off, “it’s just an ornament, really…”

“Just put it on your head,” William pushed it again over her hair, “it highlights your eyes, I like it!”

“…” she knew he was just making this excuse up to let her keep the crown. And she highly appreciates it. Then the next moment her eyes were on the verge of crying again, before she wiped any tears and moved away.

“I’ll go, for now, to rearrange the masters at… My place…” she was about to mention the kingdom, but she stopped at the last second.

“Don’t stress yourself,” William waved, when Becky moved fast and poked him, “ouch! What was that for?”

“Can’t you give her some support?” Becky glared in a threatening way to him, “you can’t let her go back to that place, not when the wound is fresh!”

“What wound?” William played fool, before he got a hit on the shoulder, “ouch! Your hand is heavy!”

“I’ll seriously hit you next time!” She clenched her fist, as if she was about to punch him in the chest.

“Ok ok,” William cracked a smile, before he shouted at the far distance Anjie, “go to Lara’s city and wait for me there, I’ll let Lara know!”

Anjie paused for a second, before she resumed her walk-in fast steps.

“You know you are a cold-hearted bastard sometimes,” Becky waved her fist in front of William’s face, and the latter just simply ignored her.

“I did that to let her get out from this shocking moment,” William picked up the forging hammer he was using, “I really appreciate what she did, I never saw this coming. And yet I owe her this.”

“Still a blood hearted bastard in my eyes!” Becky harrumphed, before returning to work once again.

From a distance, Fang watched all this from a distance. He was the one who suggested to her to do this, to save what was left of her kingdom, to save her people. And she was hesitant, he took the initiative to go with her to meet her father, the king. The two didn’t need to speak much to convince the king and other older masters.

The reality of the situation was way uglier than what any outsider knew. The death toll was growing to an extent that made it impossible to salvage the situation. Not to mention most of the strongest force under the kingdom’s control was lost!

The kingdom planned to wipe out any remaining resistance at the three kingdoms once the bombs exploded. So, they stationed the strongest masters there, and most of them got attacked already by the mutated monsters.

And that wasn’t everything! Reports started to mention the appearance of such monsters at the outer borders of the kingdom. It was expected, considering the kingdom was squeezed between the three kingdoms.

It was just a matter of time before the monsters would flock into the kingdom, kill everyone, and the kingdom would fall.

The suggestion Fang made might be considered an early surrender to such fate from the king and the top masters. And yet the king and everyone agreed in a way that even took Fang by surprise!

He knew those old men wouldn’t be that stubborn or stupid to accept help in this desperate situation. But he expected them to stall and hesitate for quite some time before finally giving in.

The main reason behind their swift and fast agreement was one, Anjie! Everyone saw in her a mean to still have a say in the future empire that would get formed. Even when they learnt about William’s intentions of getting the four kingdoms under his guild, unified impact, and an academy, they didn’t change their minds.

In the end, anyone could tell what Anjie was going to give William, the crown, was going to push her status higher in William’s heart and life.

“I hope I helped your disciple enough,” Fang thought about his dead friend, Sloth, and hoped he did enough for Anjie.

William made sure to send someone to Lara, to inform her about Anjie’s arrival. Then he returned to forge as much materials as he could with the help of Becky.

Fang sent a message to William using spirit sense, telling him that the upper realm masters would wait at Lara’s city. He made sure to bring them here to learn what they should do from William.
