Chapter 1342: The War Meeting
Just from this simple order, Berry and Ro could tell William intended to do a huge operation. And that was an understatement to what William truly intended to do.
This wasn’t just a simple war against monsters or dark masters. The scale of this war was going through four kingdoms, an area unprecedented even to William’s past wars.
William knew how grave the situation was. He knew the more time he wasted, the more monsters would get mutated, evolved, and the harder it would be to stop them. As for involving the Novice kingdom in his plans, it went without saying that it was inevitable to do so.
After all, the monsters mutated and evolved wouldn’t stop just at the boundaries of the three kingdoms. To make things worse, these three kingdoms surrounded the Novice kingdom from all directions, it was as if it was an all-out war to exterminate the kingdom, and that was how William saw the entire situation.
William knew in such dire spots, tough choices would be made. And one of them was regarding the future of the kingdom’s ruling regime. Even if he was terribly worried over Anjie, he still shouldered the king and top masters there the responsibility.
“I don’t intend to let those who committed such crimes go off,” he started the meeting with such heavy words, “I gave them a chance, and they just screwed it and followed their own agenda. I will help Anjie to save the situation, but it will come at a cost…”
He started speaking about his plan to salvage the situation and spoke about his intentions regarding the ones who caused this in the first place. Becky stood silently watching from the side, feeling nothing but admiration towards William the more he spoke.
In her eyes, he was handling this disaster no lesser than a top leader of a mighty force in the upper realm. He put the safety of normal people and masters as a priority and put solving this disaster as top priority. And yet he didn’t stop there and took the grand picture into consideration.
He planned for everything, how to stand against this disaster, how to protect everyone, and on top of all how to take over the rule of these lands and put them under his control.
“… The guild will rule over these lands after we clear them from the monsters. It won’t be an easy task, but once we are done, we’ll have enough area to call the empire, yet it will be under the control and protection of our guild.”
William’s words meant one simple fact; from this day onward, there was no more of the Novice kingdom or any of the other three ones. Instead of establishing an empire, he decided his guild would reign supreme over these lands.
He wasn’t the type to chase after false authority or a political stand like an emperor or a king. And yet he would never let those who committed such crime to rule over the people ever again.
He planned to let the masters of these lands to join his guild, expanding the pool his guild picked their masters from. He would also consider using the help of Sara’s grandfather and let him establish branches of their academy in these lands. He even considered asking the impacts of Scorching Lands town to unite together, before expanding into the new lands.
For the capable masters, they would join his guild. As for those who didn’t make it, they would either join the academy if they were young or join the unified Scorching Lands’ impact and help protect the normal people.
The more he spoke, the clearer the vision after this disaster would end. Everyone couldn’t help but be in awe of how great this vision was, even some doubted William had put this plan right on the spot and he saw this coming a long time ago.
They were mistaken. William was indeed surprised about what happened. But he had rich experience and knew how to best deal with this dire situation.
From the side, Fang also felt the same awe as everyone else. As one of the top masters in the world, he knew how challenging it was to give such a perfect solution to such an unexpected disaster. Not to mention the scale of this was on a level that he never heard of before.
What was truly admirable wasn’t how William handled the disaster, but how he calmly put a plan that looked feasible and doable in such a short time. Even Fang with all the experience he had doubted he could do half good as William did. And that made him wonder what life this youngster lived before he met him, what made him turn into such a genius and expert at such a young age.
“Any questions?” William ended his long talk with this, while everyone exchanged silent glances before they started to speak up about their doubts, suggestions, or things they didn’t grasp.
Most of the comments revolved around their worries that the old regime would fight back. And yet William reassured them. “At this time, I doubt a single master would have the courage to stand against us. They are the ones who lost the upper morale ground here, and if they were shameless to not admit their mistake and shoulder the responsibility from it, then I’d gladly remind them of the gap of power between the two of us.”
William’s words weren’t void of logic or confidence. He wasn’t belittling the king or his masters, but he was simply speaking how powerful his guild was.
Even when Lara spoke about her worries regarding the upper realm masters, it wasn’t a big issue to William. In fact, Becky was the one to respond about this point, calmly saying:
“You are telling me the masters who survived a miracle from the recent war will stand up against us? Against William? Not a chance!” she laughed, before adding, “let me tell you, if any of those masters got the chance to fight William again, then they’d simply lay down their weapons and surrender.”
“…”
