Chapter 1337: Bad Habit
“Amazing!!” William looked around, not believing his eyes, “the theory… It’s true!”
“Oh, this feels like returning back home!” Becky didn’t wait for him to come back, and followed him into the underground space, “I can’t believe it! How come such high density and highly purified spirit power exist in this lower realm?!!!”
She was shocked, very much shocked. At first, she felt like she returned back to the upper realm, yet as someone who just came back from there, she could tell more than William that this spirit power wasn’t similar, “it’s way better than the upper realm spirit power!!!”
“That’s true,” William nodded, while returning to his human form, “ah, it’s quite refreshing, how I missed that feeling!”
“Speaking as if you experienced this,” Becky gave him a weird look, one that William simply ignored.
“Let’s run a few tests,” William wanted to be sure of his guesses regarding this spirit power. He sat cross legged, then started to train.
“Ouch!” just as half an hour passed, even he couldn’t tolerate the new spirit power. He was forced to stop training, feeling lots of pain all over his body.
“This… I never experienced such spirit power before,” Fang just dashed after Becky and William, and the moment he entered, he was stupefied.
“There is no equal for such spirit power in the entire world,” William confidently said, “did you try and train?”
“Not yet,” Fang looked as if he was drooling over training, and yet he resisted the urge to do so, “I can tell I won’t last much longer than you two. Besides, I get this place must need lots of tests …”
“No need for further tests,” Becky was sitting close to William, and she couldn’t continue training much longer than him, “it’s surely higher-grade spirit power than that’s present in the upper world! I even couldn’t last this long myself… Which is a bit weird…”
“That’s not what I meant, but…” Fang moved his eyes between William and Becky. From his long experience, he could smell gunpowder already in the air, “I’ll go out, and start patrolling the area. I’ll leave you two to whatever you are going to do…”
Fang didn’t stick around any longer. Even if he had this urge to sit down and train, he still left to do what he promised. “I’ll have tons of chances later on,” he muttered to himself, feeling it was the best decision in his life to follow William and join the Fox guild.
“He… Is quite decisive,” William followed Fang till he moved away from his spirit sense.
“You still didn’t answer me…” Becky ignored Fang and totally stared directly at William. The latter lost count on how many times she kept looking at him like this, as if she was seeing a mysterious master or a monster!
“What I also don’t get, how the Precursor spirit power can generate something like this… I mean…”
“You mean how I was sure it’ll end up like this, not the other way around?” William looked at her with a calm smile that said a lot about how he was confident about such a result from the start.
“I want to know…” Becky didn’t give up on knowing the answer, while William kept his lips tight about this point. He was standing in front of many of his guild masters, who were placing lots of formations around the entire hill area.
“I won’t give up till you tell me,” William was now working on processing lots of materials, preparing tons of outer world materials to be used in adding more formations around the hills.
William ignored Becky for now, letting her pester him and ask the same question many times. He first told his guild masters to lay down sealing, concealing, and tons of defensive formations. William used this world’s formations that his guild members knew and kept the stronger formations from the upper realm for later.
He needed to first process enough materials for these formations, then he would take some time to teach his guild masters how to lay them down.
So, as his guild masters were working, he was working harder than any. And if not for Becky who kept nagging him non-stop to learn the secret behind his confidence, it would have been quite easier for him.
“… And you don’t show any worry about your friends, meaning you weren’t playing a random lucky game with these bombs, you knew exactly what was going to happen, as if you could control if the bombs would be deadly or a blessing…”
She kept talking, speaking about her take on this, speaking about her theories, while William turned a blind eye for all this. But at some point, it started to cause him severe headaches!
“Why not, for a change, try to help me and in return I’ll tell you what you need to know?” William suddenly stopped what he was doing, flashed and stopped in front of Becky, interrupting her blabbering and giving such suggestions.
“Why don’t you try trusting others, me in specific, and tell me the answer and then I can help with all my heart content!”
“Forget it then,” William didn’t even bat an eye when he dropped her offer. He instantly dashed back, returned to do what he was doing.
“Sorry, sorry, bad habit, can we return to the offer you made just now?” Seeing him walk away without any hesitation made her panic a little. She wanted to know how he knew, as she never heard of anything like that in the upper realm, not even some myths or tales.
What shocked her the most was how this young master, who clearly never stepped into the higher realm yet knew all this information, secrets, and even stuff no one else knew!
Something kept telling her that this was just the tip of the iceberg. And if she didn’t get his trust, get on his side, she would lose too much and would definitely regret it.
