Chapter 1336: Out of this World!
“So… Won’t you tell me what will happen when the bombs explode?” Becky seemed fixated over knowing the answer, a thing related to her personality, a thing that made William shake his head in a powerless way.
“Quite stubborn you are,” he gave her a deep look, while she crossed her arms.
“I think I helped you in achieving this result, but the thing is…”
“You don’t know what the result is,” William shrugged, “fine, it’s going to explode any minute now, so no use in hiding this from you. Do you know what makes this bomb deadly? What makes these bombs scarier than any other bomb in the upper world?”
“Is it because it sucks and compresses the spirit power from the world?” Becky raised an eyebrow as this was quite known information about these bombs.
“That’s what makes the explosion fierce indeed,” William nodded, before shaking off his head, “but that’s not what makes it deadlier.”
“Then what?!” She started to grow impatient, especially when he kept evading the direct answer and responded with questions instead of explanation.
“These bombs don’t just absorb the spirit power and concentrate it; they filter and transform the spirit power to the spirit power precursor.”
“Precursor? Spirit power precursor? The legendary precursor state?!!!” Her trembling voice was enough to tell how immensely shocked she was.
And William slowly nodded.
“As you heard of rumours, this state is nearly impossible to achieve…”
“It’s not nearly impossible, it’s impossible!” Becky interrupted his words, while doubt appeared in her eyes, “it’s just remnants of old times, there is no proof such myth ever existed in the world we know of!”
“That’s true,” William nodded, not caring that much about the doubt appearing in her tone, face, and attitude, “and the main reason is that such a state is unstable, it can never be achieved for a long time as…”
“As it either transforms into a higher state spirit power that’s even higher and much purer than the one present in the richest spirit power fountains in the upper world, or it turns into the mythic anti-spirit power, eats away the world, and kills anything in its path…”
Becky interrupted William, with a loud tone as she felt enraged by how William treated her as an idiot. Yet when she reached the end of her words, her tone changed, her attitude changed, as the last words she said were weirdly similar to something that flashed into her mind.
Then a realisation hit her without warning!
“You started to see the similarities,” William nodded in agreement, “I know it may sound impossible, but like I said, it’s not entirely impossible. This mythic state can be reached for a brief moment when these bombs explode.”
“But…”
“I know, it’s unknown to the world that the devastation and death left behind by these bombs are caused by the Precursor.”
“Yet for a reason, you know…” She gave William a long look, as if she was doubting what he was saying, or seeing him as a far more mysterious master than what she took him for.
*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!*
Just before she said anything, a loud series of explosions erupted from the hill zone in front of the two. Becky had to swallow what she wanted to say, and stood by William’s side, watching in silence the explosions and shakings of the hills around.
The explosions came fierce, yet the ground stood erect and strong. The worst that happened was for the hills to sway right and left, for the ground to tremble like it was a thin crux on top of a volcano on the verge of eruption.
The explosions kept ranging for almost an hour, and the trembling continued for five more. William’s spirit sense was already spread out, closely examining everything happening and watching for anything unexpected to happen.
“Everything is smoothly progressing as planned,” William calmly said one hour after the explosions ended.
“So… Is it over?” Becky looked around with her spirit sense, “for how long we shall wait?”
“That’s a question I don’t know the answer for,” William honestly replied, “this was just an untested theory, a few hours ago at least.”
“What?!!!” This time her shock reached a new level like never before.
“Ok, let’s go and check,” William was about to move before turning to her and asking, “if you are afraid of your life or something…”
“Hold your leash, lower world young master,” Becky took the first step, feeling pretty much annoyed by what he just said. She moved fast, and William simply dashed behind and caught up to her.
“I’m not kidding, let me check things first myself, then you can follow,” William stopped at one hill, turned to her, before adding in an unnegotiable tone, “wait here!”
“Want to have all the fun for yourself, aren’t you?!” She complained from behind, while he just dashed and headed towards the tunnel exit, he came from at the end.
“It looks ok so far,” William didn’t hurry to break the formations, instead he started examining the formations and checking to see if they were breached or had any problems.
Luckily everything looked fine. He tried to see through the formations, yet there was only thick white mist, and he couldn’t see anything.
“Moment of truth,” after getting nothing from using spirit sense, he decided to break into the tunnel and check the situation underground.
*Crack!”
William broke the formations, went into the underground space where he was surrounded with a thick layer of mist. He couldn’t see through the mist, couldn’t even see his hand or tail.
Before getting into the underground area, William changed into his monstrous body. He even took out his weapons, just a habit in situations of danger.
“This…” The moment he fell into the underground space, he felt like needles poking into his body. He recognised that feeling, recognised it very clearly as it was the same feeling when he stepped into the higher realm for the first time ever!
