Chapter 1332: Are We Lost?
“That leaves twelve bombs…” Becky was curious to know how William would handle this problem, the same as Sloth, the same as many other masters here, “what do you plan to do?”
“Let’s keep this as a surprise,” William evilly grinned, and with that wink he looked more evil at the moment, “give me an hour, I’ll be done with all the materials we have.”
William didn’t use all of the materials he got as he just said. He simply used enough to their needs, and that wasn’t even one tenth of what he actually gained from everyone!
He didn’t even touch the rings that Becky gave to him. If he counted that, then he might have just used less than one percent of what he had!
“I don’t think I can let you kid do this on your own,” as one hour passed, William stopped his work, started packing his stuff, “I promised Anjie I won’t let you stand in the way. I must accompany you and be your guard…”
“Nice try, old man,” William interrupted Sloth’s well prepared words, “I already have Fang on my side. Not to mention I’m not that weak myself.”
“Believe me, you’ll be busy doing this, and…”
“Just drop the act already,” William gave Sloth a warning look, “you decided to keep your stuff a secret from me, despite I’m literally the one who gifted you all this, then don’t cry when I’m just paying you back!”
“You…”
“He will be safe,” Becky intervened, “with me on his side, no one will come near him, not even someone like you!”
“…”
Sloth knew how strong and capable Becky was. Just from the way William paid extra attention to her, he could tell how special this upper realm master was.
Yet he couldn’t resist the urge to stay behind and know more secrets about William. He kept trying for the next half an hour, yet eventually he failed when William just passed through a portal, leaving him behind with the upper realm masters.
“You need to learn when to stop when there are glaring signs for that,” Fang watched how desperate his friend was, couldn’t help but sigh while patting on Sloth’s shoulder.
“Can you perhaps…”
“Never ever dream about it!” Fang stopped his friend at this point, “at the end of the day, I’m a master of that kid’s guild. And you know me, I always treat kindness with utmost respect, and that kid showered me with enough gratitude to make me indebted to him forever!”
“…”
Sloth knew he lost any chance in following William and seeing where he picked places for the twelve bombs! He was aware of the places William picked using his friends’ help, the Fox Guild’s bases, Lara’s city, the Scorching Lands, the academy, and the Long clan. And yet he wanted to know where the rest of the bombs would be.
“That’s roughly half of what he gained,” Sloth didn’t want to drop this matter, “it’s far more than any of us got!”
He tried to think of a proper way to tag along, yet failed. The only thought he had was to ask for Anjie to stick around and tell the king later about these places. And yet he didn’t follow through this idea of his.
He knew how attached and loyal Anjie was to William. If he let her leave, she would never tell anyone about William’s secrets. Not to mention, there was still the high risk involved in this plan.
No one knew exactly how deadly these bombs were. Yet from the reactions and little interrogation they had with the upper realm masters they kingdom acquired, Sloth knew how deadly these bombs were.
“Still… No one knew of other uses of these scary bombs except death and destruction… Weird!” Sloth didn’t get a satisfying answer about this point from any of the upper masters he asked. And that point was the thing that made him beg the king to keep Anjie occupied at the capital and not come here.
“If not for me seeing his face and expression first hand, I’d have thought he was playing with all of us… But this kid knows something others don’t, something very beneficial to let him totally refuse throwing these bombs on the heads of our enemies… What a regret!”
Sloth didn’t know if he was regretting not using these bombs to get rid of rival kingdoms and enemies, or for him missing out the places William picked for the twelve bombs.
In the end he couldn’t tag a long. William left one bomb at the underground city. He didn’t leave before he checked the status of all formations in the portal area and the underground city.
“I’ll leave one hundred masters for you here,” William stopped Lara the moment he reached the surface city, “let them teach as many as possible from our trusted master forces.”
“As a backup plan?” Lara didn’t get what he meant, and tried to guess.
“They will work on laying down a layer of formation here,” William pointed at the entire city, “the size of the underground city is roughly half of the inner part of the city. Just to be sure, fortify the entire inner space, and if you have time, fortify the buildings as well…”
“I’ll fortify even areas around the inner zone,” Lara’s face showed a serious look, “I won’t let a single harm happen to my city!”
“Good girl!” William then turned to others, “let’s go, we have a long way ahead to travel.”
Unlike what everyone thought, William didn’t head towards the portal area. Instead, he went outside, towards the main gates of the city.
As he sent almost all of his girls and friends to do their tasks, he was left with Lina, lots of his guild masters, including thousands of those who learnt how to do the formations.
“Are we lost?!” Just after a few hours, Lina couldn’t help but lean towards William and whisper to him, “it’s not a shame to stop and ask around for directions!”
