1309: The Unexpected Problem 1309: The Unexpected Problem “Just like that?!!” Fang looked at his old friend in doubt, “I don’t believe you!” “I’ll also keep an eye on her, and won’t move away from this spot for now…” “What are you up to?

Huh?” Fang came close to Sloth, looking him directly in the eye.

“Shut up!” Sloth turned around, before looking at the remaining few dozen masters on his side, “go and spread over the periphery of the frontline, make sure to control these weak spots and wait for my orders.” “I’m one hundred percent sure you are up to something!” Fang looked at the masters who moved following Sloth orders and couldn’t help but sigh, “you’ll create other stress points to relieve the pressure over the real centre, not bad!” Fang caught what Sloth wanted to do and couldn’t agree more.

This plan was simple, yet effective.

From one point, they could relieve the pressure over Anjie and other girls.

On another point, they’d strengthen their grasp on the flanks and make sure a great deal of the walls in this place was secured.

As everyone sprung in doing what they could, William was getting closer to finishing his job in the underground city.

He covered up almost ninety percent of the ceiling with densely packed formations.

Despite that, he didn’t feel that great.

“Those monsters are a real pain in the as*!” William wanted to leave what he was doing, go down below and start hunting down those monsters.

The progress of his guild masters halted by a great chunk when they got attacked constantly by herds of monsters.

William was satisfied by their pace at first, but when they got hit with those monsters, their work speed decreased to be like a snail!

William asked Lina for help, sending a few groups of masters to safeguard the working ones.

But whenever that happened, the monsters retaliated by attacking in growing numbers and with weird ferocity!

“It’s like someone or something is controlling them…” William looked around, as if he was looking for the culprit behind all this, “don’t tell me these monsters felt threatened by what’s going to happen here and are fighting for their lives!” He said these words as a joke, but he didn’t know he nailed the truth by what he just said!

The monsters here didn’t have a leader or hidden boss or something, they just had their instincts to follow.

And when William came here with that bomb, the monsters all felt the same urge to go, kill and stop him!

Unluckily for them, William was hung high up in the air, working constantly and never came to the ground.

So, monsters poured their monstrous rage towards the next best target, Fox Guild masters!

“Don’t tell me we’ll need to bring in everyone back!!” Watching close to five thousand masters, who came as reinforcements and guards for the working masters, were unable to stop the monsters, made William frown!

He thought by bringing more masters the monsters would be under their control.

Yet the more masters he brought, the more monsters poured in from all over the underground city!

At some point, it felt like the entire city was formed of those shadow monsters!

William weighed between using the protective arrays to partially safeguard against those monsters or ask for more reinforcements from outside.

He couldn’t tell if the reason behind this situation was the craziness of monsters or because the strongest masters were all fighting at the portal zone.

“And here I thought the city was void of any danger… Silly me!” William decided to fight fire by fire, “bring forth more masters, we’ll crush those damn monsters no matter what it takes!” He knew using the concealment and protective arrays wouldn’t be a good solution as monsters could now sniff these and attack the arrays.

So, he decided to go with the one solution that would ensure his masters down below would continue their work and increase their pace.

“Are you sure of this?” After one more hour, what William doubted happened!

The entire city was now filled to the brim with masters fighting what seemed like an endless stream of monsters!

William finally landed from the ceiling after finishing his task.

He looked at the entire city from high above before getting down.

And he knew perfectly well how dire this situation was.

“Just keep the masters working on the formations safe,” William patted on Lina’s shoulder, “make sure they’ll increase their speed of work, and make sure not a single monster would come near to them.” “I’ll do my best,” Lina paused, “can I come with you?” “Wait till I give you my signal,” William looked around, before looking at Lina’s eyes, “I need you here more than down below.” “Ok..” Lina faintly nodded and muttered to herself, while watching William’s shadow as he dashed fast, heading towards the portal area, “and I need you by my side more than what you even think…” Lina bitterly sighed.

She knew she was the one to volunteer to handle this task, leaving all the girls to help William in the portal area.

And yet she felt little regret now after watching him come to the city.

She had nothing in her power to do to change that.

She turned and started to do her task, knowing exactly how dangerous this situation was.

William didn’t trust to leave the bomb in the underground city with all the deadly attacks from the monsters.

He moved the bomb with him, passing back to the portal area.

“They did a great job!” The moment he went back, he instantly felt the changes in the atmosphere.

And when he spread his spirit sense, he could tell how greatly different the situation was compared to before the girls stepped up to help.

William could tell the frontline was holding firmly well, even without using the strongest defensive formation.

They were just using the normal formations, traps, arrows, grenades, mines, and other things to stop the enemies, and all of that was working brilliantly as William could tell.
