1307: Fortifying The Underground City 1307: Fortifying The Underground City When William said his words, they were like doctrine orders for his guild masters.

They hurriedly took out papers and brushes, waited in patience to listen to the words of their legendary founder.

William, as usual, wasn’t paying attention to any of that.

He was concerned about how these masters would execute his words to the letter.  He knew a single mistake would throw the entire plan into ruins!  “I’ll draw the formations one by one, and you have to follow suit,” William paused before adding, “make sure to write everything I draw on these papers… The first formation is called the Blue Elephant Net Formation…” William started to draw on papers while his guild masters looked closely and followed his actions down to the letter.

William kept speaking and working for almost an hour.

He made sure he’d stop from time to time, ask his masters about the formations he just told them about, and even asked a few to make one in front of him as a test.

That makes it twenty-five formations laid on top of each other,” William finalised his long lecture with these words, “the order in which every formation is laid down is super important, don’t forget anything I said, or else we are all doomed!” William didn’t miss telling these masters about the risks awaiting all of them in case of their failure.

Unlike what he imagines, the masters weren’t much concerned about the consequences of their failures more than their focus on how they were picked to do this super important mission.

To them, it was like a privilege to be responsible for saving the world.

It meant too much for them for William to put his trust in these masters, and that what weighed more in their spirits than anything else.

“I’ll keep an eye on you,” William ended the meeting with these words, “here are the required materials, arranged according to the formations you’ll make…” He passed on many rings for the masters to use, “distribute the materials in each ring between the groups working on the same formation…” He kept speaking for five more minutes, giving his final instructions to his guild masters.

Then he moved upward again, resumed his work, while keeping an eye as promised over his guild masters working down below.

“They are doing far better than what I imagined,” after half an hour, it was clear to William that his guild masters were up to the task.  Even if he picked up simple formations to make, his guild masters had to lay down these in a very strict order.

He made it as if the formations laid below were actually creating a bigger, more powerful single formation!

That was why he stressed over the order in which these formations would be made.

And seeing his guild masters follow his orders to the letter made him quite content with their performance.

“It seems the guild has many good seeds,” William nodded in satisfaction, knowing that these masters were considered mid-tier or even lower by his guild standards.

“Now… It’s time to fully focus on my task,” after watching his guild masters for another half an hour, he turned to the ceiling and started to fully focus on it.

From time to time, he’d check on his guild masters down below and made sure they were following the plan all along.

Even if there were a large number of masters working on the formations down on the ground, and even if they didn’t have to jump and use lots of their spirit powers to work like how William was, their pace was slightly faster than William.

The main reason behind this was the scattered buildings in the city.

Formations needed to be laid down even in the heart of the buildings.

Not to mention the attack of monsters from time to time.

All this delayed their progress and working speed, making them slightly faster than William.

Yet that wasn’t bad for William.

“Going at this pace, we’ll finish the entire city in four more hours… Give or take…” That was almost half of what he expected earlier, and that was all thanks to the efficiency his guild masters were showing down below.  Time passed fast, and as William and his guild masters were busy laying down the formations, Lina led all masters to either leave the city back to Lara’s city on the surface or move to support the ongoing war underground at the portal area.

The war was still raging hot, but with all the preparations the Fox Guild laid down at the portal area, the enemies couldn’t take back the upper hand ever again.

The best the enemies would do was to kill more of this world’s masters.

Yet even when they sent a few tens of thousands over in one wave, they couldn’t take back much area from William’s friends.

“These kids… They aren’t half bad either,” seeing how great Fox Guild masters fought so far made Sloth bitterly smile.

“Don’t feel such envy towards the younger ones,” Fang patted on his friend’s shoulder while laughing in content.

“I thought that William is an anomaly, but it seems he found a lot like him in that guild of his!” Sloth sighed, recalling how crazy William’s friends acted in his eyes before they managed to kill their enemies and crush them in an amazing way.

“A dragon always attracts other dragons with his fire,” Fang looked at William’s friends fighting afar from him, “or perhaps… It’s all thanks to William…” “No way!” Sloth scoffed, “he is too young to even teach others!” “I’m telling you… William is special, can’t be measured by our standards,” Fang paused before winking to his friend, “you fought by his side for far longer than myself and can’t even tell this about him?” “Shut up!” Sloth fumed with rage again when he remembered something.

“Don’t be this stingy with your kingdom’s princess,” Fang knew the root of all this attitude from his friend, “she is lucky and blessed to find such a man suitable for her, right?” “A man and a den of girls behind him, humph!” Sloth shook his head, before looking at William’s girls fighting bravely at the forefront, “they are quite ferocious… They won’t give up easily!”
