- Chapter 1300 - 1300 Sloth Is Facing Trouble
1300: Sloth Is Facing Trouble 1300: Sloth Is Facing Trouble “They are… Quite something…” Sloth couldn’t help himself and muttered in awe and wonder, “I want to keep one, at least, if possible…” he paused, looking at all the death spread over by these Chimeras, and then sighed.
“Perhaps in another lifetime,” he held the handle of his big sword tightly, waved it in a circle, before making his first move, “now it’s all to save the day using their help.” Sloth did exactly like how William did it.
He threw a couple of attacks over, turned around, and started to run.
He saw William make such moves for many times to count, too much to memorise these by the heart now.
He always watched William do it in a very natural way, hit and run, it was the way.
And how could a hit and run be difficult, that was what he kept telling himself.
And yet he was destined to be proven wrong!
“Damn!
Those motherfckers!!!” Just as he started to run, he noticed how fast the Chimeras moved.
One flew a few metres above the ground while the two others chased him on their feet.
The situation looked simple and safe at first, a few times he needed to jump, take a sudden turn, or even dash forward to evade any incoming fire breaths. That was all fine, until he and Chimeras got close from a large group of enemies. “Don’t let them come closer!” “Use all of your long-ranged attacks!” “Never stop attacking!” Many shouts erupted and tons of attacks landed on his head.
Just as he thought he’d do it the simple way William always used, he was faced with such a threat that he wasn’t fully prepared to.
His instinct depicted him to change course, turn around, and evade the incoming attacks.
But behind him were the Chimeras, so retreat wasn’t an option.
Evading the first wave of attacks exhausted a lot of his treasures.
Before he’d catch a breath, a second wave came.
“Sht!
Those motherfckers won’t stop!
I need to do something, fast…” Just in the middle of his painful roars from the usage of all these treasures in a short time, a wave of lightning suddenly appeared, hitting a large number of enemies blocking his path, before vanishing as fast as it appeared.
“Fang!” Sloth finally noticed the big role Fang played in paving the path for him to come here.
Sloth didn’t have an easy way to the Chimeras only because the enemies feared them, but because Fang kept hammering their heads with lightning bolts, stopping any attempt to flank Sloth from behind.
Yet it was now different.
Sloth had to get in the middle of the enemy forces for the Chimeras to rain havoc all over their heads.
If not, then the outcome would be undoubtedly the death of him.
Fang stopped helping Sloth the moment the latter got closer to the Chimeras.
The situation was dire already around William’s, Fang, and the few remaining masters there.
After all this time of fighting without having a proper line of reinforcements, and with William’s absence, the casualties among the masters here started to skyrocket.
Fang did all he can to help, but the relentless attacks of the enemies proved to be hard to stop. The situation kept escalating for the worse for their side.
And when Sloth found himself in that tough spot, Fang had to make a choice.
He didn’t choose to support one front over the other, instead he pushed himself and rained hell over the enemies in both directions.
This placed lots of pressure on Fang and was already exhausted.
But that didn’t make him sloppy at all.
No matter how hard it was, he kept hitting all the targets he aimed for. [I won’t be able to help for ten minutes] after a few minutes, and as Sloth finally went deep into the enemy lines, Fang sent these words.
He was warning Sloth as he couldn’t handle the pressure anymore.
[Thanks for the help, I’ll take it from here] Sloth felt much appreciation towards Fang’s support.
He already expanded his spirit sense to cover a large area, to monitor the movement of his enemies and plan his next moves right. That was why he knew how hard it was for Fang to give any support to him, not to mention for all this time. Fang wanted a few minutes to recharge part of his nearly depleted spirit power, plus helping other masters around to relieve the pressure.
Then he intended to help Sloth once more.
Sloth didn’t rely on Fang’s support and decided to take this on his own.
As he already penetrated deep enough into enemy lines, he knew it was futile to stop him at this point.
The three Chimeras were like loose hounds.
As Sloth saw William do it many times before, he was now doing the same.
The Chimeras spread death and panic anywhere they went into, ending up leaving a long trail of corpses behind.
Sloth was running as fast as he could, heading towards the periphery.
At first the enemies tried to kill him, but now they had more urgent issues to handle.
Instead of taking all the pressure, Sloth just received less than ten percent of what he used to take before from those enemies.
Even with that, he still felt the pressure after half an hour.
It wasn’t a walk in the park as he imagined.
The Chimeras helped to lessen the pressure, but there were lots of smart and experienced masters in the enemy. They didn’t take much time to figure out the way to stop the Chimeras, by stopping him. Sloth was running smoothly at first, running as if there was no one in front of him.
All he needed to do was to just evade a few attacks here and there, while most of the attacks would miss thanks to his high speed. Soon enough, things changed fast! The attacks started to raid down on him like he was the only one in the world attacking those masters.
“Don’t you care about your teammates?!” Sloth bellowed back when more attacks came.
These weren’t just targeting him, or else he’d find it easier to evade.
