1299: Copying William Isn’t Easy 1299: Copying William Isn’t Easy “Tsk, it’s too late to move and break through these lines now,” Sloth spread out his spirit sense and reached the same conclusion as Fang, “and we can’t let this situation continue like this, or else we’ll be all doomed!” “We can’t distract him,” Fang glared at Sloth, “we need to handle this problem ourselves.” “We need a plan then,” Sloth sighed, looking around before moving to kill a few incoming enemies, the same thing Fang did.

“We need to arrange our rear and start breaking through from there.” “That won’t be enough,” Fang sighed, “remember the last time that kiddo tried to do the same?

We lost a lot of masters, and now we can’t afford to do the same trick again.” “We have lots of reserve masters up there,” Sloth argued back, moving his index finger upward, pointing towards the underground city.

“Something tells me these enemies relayed the details of the battle to the newcomers,” Fang slowly said, “that explains why they acted in such a way, they knew who killed their leader, they knew who was leading the entire army…” “Hmm, that’s possible,” Sloth’s expression changed and a grave look appeared on his face, “don’t tell me you want us to attack that encirclement as well!” “We have no other option,” Fang shrugged, “it’s either this or we stop that lad and ask him for help.” “I’d lose an arm and not do that!” Sloth bellowed back in pride and agony.

It hurt him to realise and admit they were helpless without William, without a youngster at the age of his grandchildren!

“How about this, you are the most suitable one to lead the defence here with that array of yours,” Sloth paused before adding after Fang slowly nodded, “so, let me go and attack those bastards.” “By yourself?!!” Fang couldn’t help but bellow back, “that’s suicidal!” “Don’t worry,” Sloth looked above his shoulder, “I’ll copy that kid’s method and hammer those enemies with what they can’t stop!” “…” Fang could guess what his old friend intended to do, but he didn’t stop him.

At such a dire moment, no one had the chance to pick and choose.

“That’s a plan then,” Fang looked at Sloth, before patting on his shoulder, “don’t throw the towel early out there, got it?” “I have a princess to protect, you know that!” Sloth laughed while motioning his head towards William.  Watching Sloth moving away on his own made Fang sigh, “let me give you all the help I can afford, my friend.” Sloth ventured out, not towards the periphery of the portal area, but towards the central part, towards the portal itself!

Fang didn’t feel surprised about that, not even William was deeply absorbed in making the formation cores.

William didn’t have the time to spare over eavesdropping or following the progress of the ongoing war.

He depended entirely over his friends and the two old men.

And seeing one of them move alone, away from any friendly zone, was quite surprising to many masters.  William wasn’t that surprised at all.

When he decided to ignore the ongoing war, he knew many situations would emerge and force the hands of these seasoned masters.

William was immersed in his own dilemma to care about what Sloth and Fang were up to.  When William started to work on the formation cores, he thought the task would be so easy considering his expertise and knowledge.

Yet when he started working, he was faced with a certain dilemma.

“The place here… The space element is all stirred up and affecting the processing of materials…” William never thought being here would pose such a challenge to him.

To process materials coming from higher realm, he had to use much power and lots of materials from the lower world.

The processing he used required full synergy with the world spirit elements, a point that William didn’t realise until he started working.

To fix that, he needed to use his spirit power to force the space element around his area to return normal.

It wasn’t a challenging issue in normal situations, but in the middle of an ongoing war, it was another issue.

William also started working on his plan for the den, which required making something special, “even in the higher world, making such an item would be considered tricky,” he muttered to himself, while watching the back of Sloth as he ran towards the portal direction.

“He is a big man,” he said to himself, “he knows what he signed up to.” William returned to do what he needed to save everyone.

Meanwhile, Sloth was now facing the deadliest situation he ever faced in his life, Chimera!

Sloth’s idea was to go and attract the attention of the last remaining three chimeras and lead them over to the enemies.

He wanted to copy what William did before and use Chimeras to clear a path for reinforcements to arrive.

“Sht sht sht!

That kid made it look so easy to do!!!” pushing his way among the sea of enemies wasn’t that hard for him.

He moved fast, acted nimble, and slipped through lots of enemies without getting hurt or stopped.

What played in his favour was the direction he picked.

If he walked towards any other place, he could have been killed by now.

But he went towards the only place the enemies tried their best to avoid, near the Chimeras!

Yet that was the least of his troubles!

Sloth thought he’d be forced to use everything in his arsenal to walk towards his destination.

That part went smoother than what he expected, and what he thought was easy to do turned out later on to be the riskiest part.

When he approached the Chimeras, he noticed how terrifying and deadly these creatures were.

A single Chimera would breathe fire to incinerate any master around, with hard to penetrate armoured body and deadly claws and tail.  He has watched the Chimeras since the moment they appeared here, but he always saw them from far away.

Watching them up close was totally different.
