Chapter 694: A chaotic confrontation in the jungle (part 2)
While Daimon was having a good conversation with the girl from the church of light at the at the wood castle, at another part of the jungle, there was someone not having such a nice time interacting with others, namely the dwarf princess, Femi.
This is something that started a few moments ago, around the same time when Daimon and the others had just arrived at the wood castle.
Femi who was being followed by the thorned roots of the giant tree that were travelling through the ground, as she advanced towards her destination, suddenly stopped.
“Booom!”, just in time for a black metal spear to heavily land where the dwarf princess would have been standing, had she not stopped on her tracks.
“Damn it, you useless musclehead, Breaking Arrow!”, an angered voice that seemingly came from every direction, could be heard before a neon pink energy arrow appeared behind Femi, as if it had travelled through space to get there.
Of course, that wasn’t the case at all, since the energy coming from the arrow was at the peak of the Lord rank only, what happened is that it was hidden from plain sight until it reached the dwarf princess’s vicinity.
“Humph!”, with a cold snort, Femi’s body suddenly exuded a dark grey light and the arrow was stopped, as if it had clashed against an immovable wall.
“Crack!”, the energy arrow produced sparks as it landed on Femi’s energy, before it was destroyed due to the impact, not even managing to move the dwarf princess from where she was standing.
Femi did react a second later though, as she felt danger coming from above, which was caused by branches of the nearby trees which had black and red thorns, instead of the normal white ones.
“Clang!”, that being said, those thorned branches were met by the roots of the giant tree, which were escorting the dwarf princess at Tessa’s request, resulting in metal clashing sounds.
Of course, Femi wasn’t the type to remain on the back, while being protected, though she didn’t move from where she was standing, the dwarf princess proceeded to stomp her right foot on the ground to then say.
“Rising Glaive!”, her grey energy travelled through the ground and spread through the nearby trees, until it found its target, to then transform into metallic sharp blades that emerged from the trees.
“Tsk!”, having their hidden spot discovered so easily, the ones who attacked Femi earlier had no choice but to break the disguising technique they were using, in order to avoid the dwarf’s princess’s attack, jumping from the trees on which’s branches they were standing, to land not too far from Femi.
“For being some kind of hidden force under that guy’s wing, you are nothing new”, casually said the dwarf princess as she evaluated the pair that had appeared in front of her.
They were both guys that seemed to be in their twenties, judging by the energy that they radiated, they were nethereals, though not from the same faction, since one was slim and had dark pink hair, characteristics from the Lust faction, while the other was tall and buff, with dark red eyes, which branded him as a part of the Violence faction.
Also, the black metal spear belonged to the tall buff nethereal, while the dark pink haired one was using a bow, and in case you have forgotten, neither Tessa nor Femi were using their magic weapons, because they were abiding by the rules of the challenge.
So those guys were breaking the rules by resorting to using treasures, a “benefit” they had access to due to being Marcus’s subordinates without a doubt, and not on the same level as the guys who were sent to look for nethereals and or traitors, to join his team.
Since those guys though had some special single use tricks, weren’t using magic treasures, apparently Marcus was giving quite the preferential treatment to nethereals that joined him, perhaps because they are an extreme negative oriented race, so thy quite fit with the concept of his system, which might be working on his favor.
Anyway, looking at those guy’s proudful expressions as they pointed their weapons towards her, while their nether radiated out of their bodies, Femi couldn’t help but snort.
“What is the point of coming all the way to this place if you are going to remain in your comfort zone, fools”, she said as she exploded in grey energy, to then charge at those two.
Naturally she was referring to the fact that those guys were fighting the way they usually do, with nether and with the help of those weapons, instead of taking the opportunity to fix the areas where they lack.
Femi herself, abstained from making a hammer with the metal that she could create thanks to her energy, sure she still had access to techniques that worked like her “Gaia Smithing” which basically focus on combining earth and metal affinities, to create metals and control them at her will.
Instead, she was now using her metal energy to reinforce her body for close combat, a familiar looking fighting style, as in she was inspired by a certain vampire mother’s demonstration of power, which she witnessed back at their time at the flying citadel.
Of course, her concept wasn’t the same, since Aisha mixes lightning spells to combine explosive mobility and strength, to achieve extreme speed and destructive power, but Femi certainly was inspired after being overwhelmingly suppressed by Aisha, even when they were grouping against her, as a part of their little sparring back then.
And so, with heavy metal energy covering her body from head to toe, acting like sharp armor, Femi appeared in front of those two, to then punch their way, making them who were still underestimating her, block with their weapons in a rush.
“Clang!”, the sound of metals colliding as well as sparks flying all over the area was the result, at least until those two suddenly felt all the hair on their bodies stood on their ends, which unconsciously made them jump backwards in order to put distance between Femi and themselves.
The reason of the previous was Femi’s metal energy which had had sharpened and was about to expand in every direction within her vicinity, in order to torn her enemies to shreds, which triggered those two’s survival instincts.
“At least you don’t need a babysitter to keep your heads attached to your bodies, unlike the other guys”, said the dwarf princess as she poured out more of her grey metal energy, further increasing the range that her attacks would have.
“Hey, were we not clear when we said that no killing was allowed for the time being, where is Sera and why are you not with her to begin with?”, unfortunately, before the fight could continue, an annoyed voice came from above as a girl who appeared to be in her early twenties descended.
She had pale greyish magenta colored hair, and wore a black outfit with a lot of metallic bone shaped decorations, it was Laila, who was supposed to be destroying some trees at another part of the jungle, but had to rush all the way here, because she felt that a couple of the fools under her chosen one, were about to be destroyed.
And she was met with the sight, of one of the two princesses which the chosen one from the church of light, was fawning over as of current, being the one responsible for the annoyance she was feeling, so this time she planned to complain to Sera, well, at least until she realized that the girl from the church of light wasn’t here.
“Ah, forget it, I already have enough of a headache having to deal with Marcus, just return to your side of the jungle at once, you two also go back, it’s time for today’s “ritual” as well”, said Laila as she rubbed her temples, only for those two, to frown at her.
“We were given permission by Lord Marcus to deal with one of those two the way we wanted, since we recovering through generating nether is also beneficial for him, so we won’t back down”, said the Lust nethereal as he glared at the dwarf princess.
“Yeah, I have missed the sensation of piercing through an enemy’s flesh with my spear for too long, so unless you want to take her place, get out of the way miss second in command”, mockingly added the Violence nethereal, which made Laila click her tongue.
Not at their words, she was only doing her job so she didn’t care what they called her, what annoyed her is the fact that Marcus was causing her troubles.
‘Damn it, that impatient fool, what if rushing things up ends up making this stage not good enough to be considered the “ultimate” battle, everything would have been for naught and… I’ll be forced to keep working for that guy, not to mention that if he or the one from the church of light ends up gravely wounded, things will get even messier’, she thought to then sigh.
“Sorry, besides some very specific situations, I can’t go against a direct order from that guy, and since I know you’ll most likely be able to kill these two on your own, I… have to step in”, she said, then black mist-like energy poured out of her body, advancing in the form of a wave towards the dwarf princess, whose eyes burned with fighting spirit.
Unfortunately for Femi, her energy didn’t get to clash against Laila’s one, because a blinding white energy wall blocked the black mist wave from getting close to her.
“You mean a situation like this?”, a voice coming from afar, reached everyone’s ears as a blinding white flash, arrived at the area, turning into Sera the next second.
“Sera, I can’t stop that guy from acting as he pleases any longer, is the one from your side finally here?”, asked Laila as she retracted her death energy, while Sera did the same with hers.
“Well, you could say that a “hero” has indeed arrived at this place”, amusingly said the girl from the light church, as she was reminded of the masked silver haired youth with which she was working with now.
“Hey it’s not the time to act all mysterious, is Adam here or is he still chasing after some pretty girl again?”, said Laila, which was answered by Sera with a smile, as she exploded in a white blinding light.
“Burning Radiance”, this was the technique which she was going to use before being suppressed by Badr, and judging by the serious expression that Laila put the second she heard its name, it was not your usual attack.
“Death Ashes!”, in response to the expanding white energy sphere that was manifested by Sera, Laila’s black mist energy poured out of her body, forming countless agglomerations of small black energy particles, which clashed head on with the expanding wave of white light energy.
“Boooom!”, the result was of course a violent clash of energies which made the air tremble, both Sera and Laila raised into the sky to not devastate everything in their surroundings, this was an Arch rank level clash between opposite energies after all.
Only after nearly twenty seconds of continuous clash, both techniques wore each other out, and disappeared at the exact same time, revealing those two who were completely unscathed, since no one had gained an advantage over the other.
Laila whose expression had slightly changed after that clash, gazed at the two nethereals who were confused by what was going on.
“Looks like I have my hands full right now, well, you guys have your orders right, good luck and don’t die too fast”, said Laila as she turned into a black flash.
“Have fun”, said Sera to the dwarf princess as she turned into a white flash that followed Laila the next second.
‘I was wondering what kind of impossibility was Daimon going to pull out this time around, but to think he actually “stole” that woman from Adam’s side, not to mention that weird sensation of tranquility which I felt a moment ago… oh well, I’ll ask Tess after dealing with these pieces of trash’, thought Femi as she shrugged.
At the same time, those two who had been gathering their nether, casted their techniques, starting with the dark pink haired guy.
“Deceitful Devil Bow!”, a combination of black-pink nether was injected into his bow, making it increase its size and gain a glow of the same color.
“Shattering Devil Spear!”, the Violence nethereal, did something similar but with his spear, and the energy injected into it was black-red, as a result, spikes appeared at the rear and the head of the spear, making it look more threatening.
Femi didn’t know it, but that looked like an interesting variation of the ancient armament techniques, used by the Lords, it was different because the energy which clearly didn’t belong to them, wasn’t nether, but darkness mana, so this is something they achieved with Marcus’s help, instead.
That being said, the only result was that Femi looked more eager to clash with them, very much to their displease, since the idea was for her to harbor negative emotions, in order to produce nether for them.
…
Let’s leave aside the dwarf princess’s battlefield for a second, and change the point of view to where the main group was advancing to, in other words to the direction where Daimon who was accompanied by Arianna, Dana, Lyn as well as Badr, were going.
“That woman from the church of light properly did her part, Femi is fighting a couple of nethereals that were kept in secret by that guy, I’ll go my way now, if you need something just follow the example I gave earlier and a root from the giant tree will appear for you, regardless of where you are so long as it is still within the jungle”, said the alfear princess, to which Daimon nodded.
With nothing else to add, Tessa separated from the group, soon disappearing into the sea of trees with black and red thorns, it wasn’t that hard to know where she was going, since even from afar, one could see a patch of this side of the jungle, which was oozing with an unpleasant dark atmosphere, different from the death nether which lingered all over the place.
But let’s not focus on Tessa yet, instead while the group advanced, the little tiger girl suddenly turned into a yellow flash of electricity, that intercepted a black blurred figure that seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
“Clang!”, a loud sound echoed through the air as Dana’s claws clashed against the ones from the black blurred figure, which was revealed to be a feline type blood specter, a panther to be more accurate.
“Grrrrr!”, the panther dangerously growled at Daimon and the others, only for it to dodge a lightning stream which was shot at it by the little tiger girl, in a rush.
“Your opponent is me”, said Dana who had yellow arcs of electricity sparkling around her body, the panther disappeared from plain sight once again, but it was intercepted by Dana who flashed to appear next to Lyn, blocking the panther from attacking the sky-blue haired girl’s neck.
The panther’s specialty was stealth, and it was quite good at it, unfortunately the little tiger girl was too fast, so its surprise attacks were seen through and Dana could catch up to it, at the last second, so as long as Dana was around, the panther won’t be able to follow the orders of its master.
And as if it knew that such was the case, the panther jumped to the branch of one of the many trees and then disappeared from sight, clearly daring the little tiger girl to chase after it.
“Humph, I’ll be back in a second big brother, sister and mister”, said Dana as she became a yellow lightning flash that zig-zagged through the trees in the same direction as the panther.
Now, the previous might make you believe that Marcus was purposedly separating the members of Daimon’s group to attack them separately, but nope, that wasn’t the case, Marcus simply had enough of waiting for Adam, so he sent some of his “secret” subordinates to attack Tessa and Femi, today.
It just so happened that they were blocked before reaching their targets, and as a proof of it, no other obstacle appeared in the way of the remaining four people group, Daimon included, as they advanced to the border at the other side of the jungle, where a large black water body, lied.
“Huh, what the hell are you doing here, where is that Adam bastard!”, shouted Marcus who saw Tessa coming out of the jungle accompanied by a bunch of people he didn’t recognize.
Well, he didn’t initially recognize them, besides the masked silver haired man he had seen with Tessa and Femi back at Neptune before the Global Raid started, but then as if something clicked in his mind, he glared at Arianna to then say.
“A werewolf from the Revy family, also, is that a nethereal, looks like something must have gone wrong for that idiot, if he has accepted such people as his servants”.
Adam has shown clear despise for any race with inclination towards the negative side of the energy spectrum, which would include both werewolves and nethereals, so seeing Arianna and Badr tagging along, Marcus couldn’t help but mock his rival.
Unfortunately for him, no one paid him any attention, what caught their eyes instead was the fact that there were less people than what there were supposed to be.
No Lord ranks were in sight, besides Marcus, there were the two Arch rank nethereals who used to be sealed in this black water body, the sea snake blood specter, whose head was peeking out of the water body and a couple of unexpected early-stage Arch ranks who judging by their clothes, used to be pirates and that was it.
