Chapter 310: TRAINING: STUNTED PROGRESS
Aaron stood on a vast training platform within the sanctuary, his body soaked in sweat.

Beads of ethereal moisture glistened on his skin, a manifestation of the immense mental and physical exertion he had endured.

For over a month, he had been practicing relentlessly, seeking a way to merge his Primordial abilities into a single, devastating attack.

The platform stretched endlessly under starry skies, marked with craters and scorched earth from failed attempts.

It proved more difficult than he could have anticipated, each fusion eluding his grasp like smoke slipping through fingers.

Frustration built with every misstep, the sanctuary’s serene beauty a stark contrast to his inner turmoil.

He constantly failed in his attempts to do so, combinations crumbling under the strain of incompatible forces.

The air hummed with residual energy from his trials, faint echoes of power lingering like ghosts.

He tried merging Terra Primordial and Primordial flames, envisioning earth infused with eternal fire.

But the union shattered, flames consuming stone in uncontrolled chaos.

Space and time failed as well, dimensions twisting into unstable voids that collapsed inward, threatening to swallow him whole.

Aaron experimented with several combinations, weaving abilities in intricate patterns.

But he failed in every single one, the failures piling up like ruins on the platform, each one a lesson in the limits of his current mastery.

After an entire month of tireless effort, Aaron had almost decided to give up on the training and shift his focus to the battle ahead.

After all, he couldn’t achieve his desired goals, the elusive merger remaining just out of reach.

“Strange to find you all alone, training.”

Aaron, already laying on the ground in mental defeat, raised his head to see Dracula staring down at him.

The ancient vampire stood with arms crossed, his robe flowing gently in a nonexistent breeze, his crimson eyes reflecting quiet observation.

“Yeah. Guess I shouldn’t deceive myself and just do what I’m good at. At least I won’t disgrace myself like I’m doing right now,” Aaron complained, frustration evident in his hollow voice.

He pushed himself up slightly, bones creaking faintly amid the platform’s scarred surface.

“Or maybe you are going at it the wrong way. What exactly are you trying to achieve?” Dracula asked, extending a large hand made of coagulated blood. It lifted Aaron to his feet with gentle but firm force, the crimson appendage dissolving afterward like mist.

“Merging my talents. I want to merge my control over time and space to create an attack. Or control over Terra itself and flames to achieve a singular, more dangerous attack,” Aaron explained, his face one of displeasure.

Aaron stared at Dracula with a mix of frustration and disbelief.

The ancient vampire’s words hung in the air like a heavy fog, thick and unyielding.

“Hmm. Merging abilities. And yet you don’t have a deeper understanding of said abilities enough to do that. I doubt you have the intricate knowledge to balance the abilities without one overpowering the other,” Dracula explained calmly.

His crimson eyes gleamed with the wisdom of centuries, his long robe swaying gently in a nonexistent breeze that seemed to follow him like a loyal shadow.

He stood with arms crossed, his posture as immovable as ancient mountains, observing Aaron’s struggles with a detached interest.

The amphitheater’s vast emptiness amplified every word, making the critique feel like a judgment from the void itself.

“Show me what you can do,” Dracula requested, his voice steady and commanding.

He watched Aaron intently, his expression unchanging, as if evaluating a pupil in a timeless lesson.

“Focus on time and space. They are the talents that better complement each other than most and the easiest to utilize at the same time,” Dracula advised.

His tone carried the weight of experience, a subtle encouragement hidden beneath the straightforward instruction.

Nodding his head in understanding, Aaron steadied himself.

He closed his eyes briefly, drawing in the sanctuary’s ambient energy.

The air hummed faintly around him, charged with latent power waiting to be unleashed.

“What exactly do you wish to perform?” Dracula asked Aaron, his crimson gaze piercing through the dim light.

He stepped back slightly, giving Aaron space, the platform’s scarred surface crunching under his boots.

“Create an attack that can never be avoided. An attack that locks onto you in time and space coordinates, ensuring there is no way you can escape it,” Aaron explained.

His voice echoed with determination, his skeletal fingers flexing as he visualized the fusion, the stars above twinkling like distant witnesses to his ambition.

He tried once more, channeling the essences of time and space.

But like every other attempt, he failed before he even truly started.

The energies clashed chaotically, fizzling out in a harmless spark that left the air smelling of ozone.

“Hmm. It seems you are pulling the cart before the horse. You don’t even have an elementary understanding on how to utilize both abilities at the same time,” Dracula pointed out quickly.

“Try and attack me with time and space at the same time,” Dracula challenged Aaron. He widened his stance slightly, his presence expanding like a gathering storm, ready to receive whatever Aaron could muster.

Aaron calmed his nerves, following Dracula’s instructions with renewed focus. He drew a deep breath, the sanctuary’s cool air filling his form, steadying his resolve amid the vast, silent expanse.

He swung his two arms simultaneously, with the intention of releasing an attack through time with one, and one through space with the other.

But to Aaron’s surprise, he lost his concentration from trying to multitask and utilizing the abilities at the same time.

The energies scattered harmlessly, leaving him staggering slightly on the cracked platform.

“What happened?” Aaron asked in surprise at his own failure. His hollow voice echoed with confusion.

“Like I said, you are pulling the cart before the horse. What you have done those times was complementing one ability with the other, and not actively making use of both at the same time without one having to support the other,” Dracula explained patiently.

“Now what you should be learning is how to fight with time and space at the same time without one complementing the other. And you can’t do that by just practice but by ingraining the memory and experience into you.”
