Chapter 283: CRUSHING CHEN WO

With calm, steady nerves, he pried the blade free from the severed right arm’s grasp. The metal gleamed ominously, as if sensing the shift in ownership.

A massive aura of destruction erupted from the blade the instant Aaron held it, engulfing him completely in a swirling vortex of annihilating energy.

The air shimmered with lethal intent, the force pressing against everything nearby.

Chen Wo smiled grimly, forcing himself to his feet despite his mutilated state, limping toward Aaron. He anticipated finding the corpse of the arrogant man who had orchestrated his downfall, victory snatched from defeat.

“Why are you smiling?” Aaron asked, emerging unscathed as the destruction aura dissipated harmlessly around him. The blade now rested docile in his hands, its once-ferocious energy subdued like a tamed beast.

“How—” Chen Wo’s voice croaked, his eyes bulging wide in sheer disbelief, the word hanging unfinished in the air. His world tilted, the impossibility shattering his composure.

“Your blade simply found me more worthy than you,” Aaron commented casually, twirling Dragon Forge with effortless familiarity. The weapon responded smoothly, as if it had always belonged to him.

After being enveloped by the aura of destruction from Dragon Forge, Aaron found himself transported to a subconscious plane. The transition was seamless, pulling him into a realm beyond the physical.

The plane started as a vast expanse of pure white, pristine and empty, until it was gradually tainted by the imoogi’s aura, darkening like ink spreading through water.

The imoogi coiled in the corner of the space, exuding a dangerous and cold visage that chilled the very atmosphere. Destruction swirled around the tainted dragon in chaotic eddies, a aura of raw peril.

The eyes of the imoogi were shut, as if it slumbered deeply, its massive form rising and falling with rhythmic breaths that echoed faintly.

Slowly, the imoogi opened its eyes, fixing them straight on Aaron with an intensity that bore into him. The gaze was ancient and unyielding, filled with primordial wisdom and threat.

Its piercing stare delved deeply into the depths of Aaron’s soul, stripping away layers of defense with effortless intrusion. It sought to unravel his very essence, probing without mercy.

It continued until it reached the aspect of Aaron’s soul where his origin bloodline was engraved, a core of untouchable power that pulsed with eternal mystery.

The imoogi, having stripped Aaron bare and peered through his essence with dominance, dove even deeper, attempting to pierce the veil of the origin bloodline. Curiosity drove it forward, heedless of boundaries.

“Roaarrrrrrr!” The imoogi, which had exuded such an air of dominance that paralyzed Aaron, screamed in torment, its two eyes exploding into misty vapor. Agony rippled through its form, shattering the illusion of invincibility.

The entire subconscious space was bypassed as the imoogi was forcibly dragged into the realm of eternal night within Aaron’s soul. Darkness enveloped it completely, an abyss that swallowed all light and resistance.

The entire subconscious area of the imoogi was overtaken, with night effortlessly consuming the essence of destruction. Shadows crept in like living entities, claiming every corner with inexorable hunger.

“How dare a fallen Primordial being try to peer into the very soul of one with origin bloodline?” The predecessor of the Night Father, still lingering as a sliver of consciousness within Aaron, questioned the imoogi. His presence radiated overwhelming authority, reducing the creature to docility.

After much “conversation” between the imoogi and the sliver of consciousness from the first Night Father, the imoogi was released back to its own consciousness plane. The exchange left it humbled, its arrogance stripped away.

There, Aaron still waited, unaware of the profound interaction that had transpired beyond his perception. Time in the plane felt distorted, moments stretching into eternity.

“What happened to you?” Aaron asked in confusion, noting the change in the imoogi’s demeanor. The once arrogant entity now appeared subdued, its coils less threatening.

The once-intimidating imoogi, which had made Aaron feel a deep sense of threat, becoming so docile puzzled him greatly. He tilted his head, searching for clues in its altered gaze.

Aaron in the end shrugged it off, deciding to worry less about the enigma. Practicality won over curiosity, pulling his focus back to the immediate reality.

Aaron was abruptly sent back to the real world, the violent Dragon Forge now lying docile in his right hand. The transition left him slightly disoriented, the physical sensations rushing back.

“Give it back!!” Chen Wo yelled, his eyes turning blood red from unbridled anger. Veins bulged on his forehead, his voice raw with desperation and fury.

“Quiet down, will you?” Aaron said, opening his left hand to summon Black Sphere, still in the form of Mjolnir, back to his grasp. The hammer flew obediently, settling with a reassuring weight.

“Alright, buddy. Bon appétit,” Aaron signaled to Black Sphere, offering Dragon Forge as if presenting a meal. A faint grin played on his lips, anticipation building.

“What do you think you are doing?” Chen Wo demanded, fear creeping into his heart like icy tendrils. His stumps ached, but the dread of what was coming overshadowed the pain.

He got his answer soon enough, as Black Sphere began devouring the blade with insatiable hunger. The process was mesmerizing, the hammer’s surface rippling as it absorbed the sword inch by inch.

Dragon Forge attempted to resist the devouring, its aura flaring in defiance, but recalling its harrowing encounter with the terrifying being, it relented. Submission came swiftly, the fight draining away.

Chen Wo watched in crazed agony, immobilized by shock, as Dragon Forge was consumed completely by Black Sphere. His world crumbled, the loss hitting him like a physical blow to the chest.

He slumped to the ground, utter defeat registering on his face, his eyes vacant and hollow. The weight of failure pressed down, heavier than any wound.

Losing Dragon Forge signified his defeat in the succession battle against his siblings, a fate worse than death to Chen Wo.

It stripped him of legacy, power, and purpose in one fell swoop.

Aaron ignored Chen Wo’s despair, turning his attention to checking any new special abilities Black Sphere had gained from devouring Dragon Forge. He examined the hammer closely, sensing subtle shifts in its energy.

“Aaron Highborn. I finally found you. And goodbye,” a chilly voice whispered from behind Aaron, materializing abruptly without warning. The tone was cold as frost, laced with finality.

Aaron spun around to face the source of the voice, his instincts flaring in alarm. The air grew thick with sudden menace, time seeming to slow.

But all he could glimpse before his neck was severed was a pair of twin blades attached to gleaming chains, whipping through the air with lethal grace.

“King—”

Aaron was unable to finish his statement, his head once more decapitated from his shoulders in a clean, merciless strike. Blood arced gracefully, his body collapsing as darkness claimed him.
