Chapter 487: [Dystopian Elven War] [End]
[Capital City, Tamrial Kingdom.]

Nerissa pushed herself up, trying to stop him.

CRUNCH.

The sound of flesh getting punctured echoed within the place.

A blood leaked out of her mouth as pain crushed her mind, making her momentarily unconscious.

Thr pain brust out making her back to her senses.

Her eyes slowly lowered as she looked at the hand punchering her chest.

“Urgh.”

A pained groan excasped her trembling lips.

“Pathetic as always.”

Ragnar spoke jerking off his hand to throw her away like a trash.

Nerissa gasped for air as her body refused to move, pain assaulting her entire body.

Ragnar finally turned his attention back to Nymeria in his grasp.

The divinity of the goddess flowing from her body to his own.

A small smile bloomed on his face as he whispered. “…. Atleast you were worth something—.”

Ragnar’s voice cut short as he felt an explicit feeling running through his body.

He felt like he was under the radar of something much bigger….like the world was watching him.

It made him froze in his place…. just like the first time when he saw Sabaoth.

SWISH!!?

Something rushed towards his hand at an unimaginable speed.

Before he could understand, a trail of light flashed past his arm.

Ragnar looked at his hand in disbelief as it slowly slide down from his elbow.

He quickly blipped backwards and the next instant someone landed where he stood.

Ragnar glanced at his severed hand than at the person’s solitude from the dust.

A young man hold Nymeria in his arm, checking on her.

There were too more solitude on either side of the boy, much larger than him.

Ragnar recorgoinsed the one with long black hair.

“….You.” he spoke his voice filled with confusion. “Esmeray’s son?”

Himmel slowly got up as he placed the unconscious Nymeria under the care of Sekhmet.

He turned his long white-purple hair flowing under the genlte breeze.

He glanced around finding a half dead Mortis, a broken Mariam and…. Nerissa.

Himmel felt an unexplainable feeling burning down his chest.

He turned to look at Ragnar who has his eyes squinted at him.

“The mana…” he spoke grimly. “Why is it all going towards you?”

A child of mana was much more sensitive to mana than any other.

And right now, Ragnar was seeing the colours of mana adorning him like he was it’s only child.

The man who was once known as the greatest genius of his era felt something abnormal.

….He was in awe.

But it soon turned into anger.

“What the hell you do!?” He snapped at Himmel, regenerating his hand. “What the fuck happened to you!!!”

Himmel didn’t respond as he raised his hand slightly.

When a thunderous sound, Naraka returned to his hand obdently.

“Hathor.” Himmel spoke gently. “Heal them.”

“LIKE HELL YOU WILL!”

Ragnar roared, blinking towards Nerissa’s body, He pushed back his leg to kick her.

SWISH!!!

Ragnar forced to move his leg as Naraka nearly cut off it as well.

He moved back but Himmel didn’t let go, his gaze calm yet colder than ice.

Ragnar got a hold of himself as he get rushed in.

He moved close enough so he couldn’t use Naraka.

Spinning on his heels he aimed his kick at his face.

Himmel brought the handle of Naraka to defend but the weight behind his strike send him flying.

Himmel adjusted his body in the air, both the goddess skip the distance along with him.

Because of them having restrictions to only be close to Himmel, Hathor couldn’t move closer to Nerissa.

“I should have killed you!!!”

Ragnar’s snapping voice echoed as he conjured hundreds of spear branches.

“I should have ended you instead of your little lover!”

Himmel moved through the Strom of branches with ease.

The information his mind was feeding helped him.

Ragnar’s eyes twitched as his attacks failed to land even once.

“How the hell are you—!”

Before he could finish, Himmel appeared right in front of him.

Ragnar quickly pushed himself away from Naraka.

The ground beneath Himmel cracked as Naraka logged into the ground.

Himmel let go of the handle as he whispered. “Hathor.”

The goddess waved her hand and in an instant, Ragnar felt a ragging pain.

The metabolism of his body changed.

Ragnar froze mid-step.

A sharp, burning sensation crawled through his veins like molten metal.

“Wh–what did you—” he gasped, but his voice cracked halfway.

Ragnar’s skin began to peel—his hair turning gray in mere seconds before snapping back to red again.

His body was aging and healing at the same time.

The process was chaotic, unbearable.

Himmel walked toward him slowly, the ground trembling beneath his steps.

Ragnar got a grip on his body as he stood straight.

“ENOUGH!!”

He roared and used “return to Zero.” On himself.

The effect of his body vanished like it was never present.

Ragnar glared at Himmel as he raised his hand. “I will humiliate you until you beg, insect!”

He immediately used Sabaoth’s blessing to make Himmel return to Primeval Rank.

Himmel kept on walking but Ragnar had already relaxed his body.

“You think you are special?” He spoke, clenching and unclenching his regenerated hand. “You are nothing infront of me—.”

His words caught in his thorat when a right hook snapped his mouth back.

Ragnar stumbled back, his jaw twisting from the sudden impact.

It took him a second to understand….

….Sabaoth blessing wasn’t working on him.

“What—.”

Himmel raised his hand as he called Naraka back.

In an instant, the weapon rushed towards him.

Ragnar sensed the danger as he quickly moved back.

A clear panick was on his face.

It was the first time for him to see someone who can resist the blessing of a Primordial.

And that had really shook him to his core.

But before running away, his gaze moved towards the World Tree.

Ragnar twisted his hand and a chakram fromed.

He throw it towards the World Tree.

Ta-damp!

Himmel rushed towards him but a loud heart beat echoed in his head.

When he blinked he wasn’t in Lumina anymore.

Instead, he floated with an enormous being right infront of him.

The eyes of the being glared at him.

Himmel’s mouth parted slightly. “…Sabaoth.”

He blinked again as he found himself back in Tamrial Kingdom.

THUD!!!

A loud sound grabbed his attention as he saw the World Tree, Falling down.

Ragnar was no where to be found as well.

Himmel ignored the World Tree as he ruahed towards Nerissa’s unconscious body.

Himmel slid to his knees beside her, his breath uneven.

Nerissa’s chest barely moved, her blood soaking through the cracked stones beneath her.

He pressed his palm against her wound, mana flooding out instinctively.

“HATHOR!”

Himmel yelled and the goddess immediately got to work.

She waved her hand and the mana from the around them trembled.

She began casting the spell that covered the entire area of the palace.

Golden light spread like ripples through water.

The shattered palace floor began to glow, and the air itself vibrated with divine power.

Himmel brought her closer to him as he desperately waited for her to awake.

But as time passed away, her body began to heal slowly.

The wound on her chest healed and at the same time, her breath became steady.

Yet….

She didn’t woke up.

Her body was healed but she was still unconscious.

“Inna.” Himmel spoke gently. “….Why is she not waking up?”

[<Qais….>]

There was pain in her voice that made his skin crawl.

[<….Her brain isn’t working.>]

He froze, staring down at Nerissa’s still face.

“…What?”

[<…>]

She didn’t respond as she knew he was well aware what she meant.

By the time he reached her, Nerissa was already long gone.

Even though her body was in perfect condition, her mind wasn’t.

BOOM!!!

An thunderous sound made Himmel glance at the place where world tree once stood.

Chunckes of hell energy was now leaking out of the place.

It began crouptting the entire place that was around it.

Himmel kept on staring at it as his mind was still blank.

The third gate of hell was now open.

[<….If this keeps on going than this continent was become inhabitable.>]

Himmel didn’t respond.

The light in his eyes had dimmed completely, replaced by a hollow stare.

A genlte hand on his shoulder, snapped him back.

He looked back as Mariam stood right by his side.

“You should leave.” She spoke, her voice pained. “….I will take care of this.”

Himmel stared at her for a second before he shook his head. “No.” He spoke.

Standing up, he raised his hand as the rune encarved on it burned brighter.

In an instant, an enormous tree appeared in the place where he stood.

The tree’s long roots moved closer to the gate of hell.

The branches glowed faintly with silver light, pulsing like veins filled with living mana.

Mariam shielded her eyes from the brightness. “What are you doing…?”

Himmel didn’t answer.

His expression was calm, but his body radiated exhaustion.

He raised both hands, and the tree responded instantly — its roots slamming into the cracked ground, wrapping around the corrupted pit where the World Tree once stood.

The pit of hell began to shrink as his World Tree knitted it close.

In no time, the there was a new world tree in the place of the old one.

Himmel didn’t spoke anything as he looked at Nerissa.

With a wave of his hand, the branches of world tree moved and genlty scooped her up.

The main trunk slowly opened up shallowing her completely inside.

In this way, Nerissa will get all the core energy of the world tree.

Himmel turned towards Sekhmet who passed Nymeria to him.

He gently adjusted the girl as the two Goddesses fadded away.

Himmel turned to look at Mariam who stood there….frozen.

“I am tired.” He spoke, his voice soft. “…. Just leave me alone.”

Mariam blinked….

….And he was gone.

—

[Unknown Location.]

“Hmm?”

Samyaza who was laying under the shade of a tree slowly opened his eyes.

A sudden stiffness in the air along with the sudden forgien object floating infront of him.

A small smile creeped on his face as he raised his hand towards it. “…Ah, look who we have here.”

The object floated closer to him — a shard of pure white crystal, faintly pulsing like a heartbeat.

It shimmered in the air for a few seconds before softly landing in his open palm.

“You really died Edwin.” Samyaza spoke with a bright smile. “Well, you were up against my brother, so it’s not surprising.”

He got up from his seat as he began to walk away.

The soul of Edwin was in its hand, it could feel and understand him but can’t talk back.

“You made a pact with me as a way to keep yourself alive, right?”

He asked, walking with a smile that slowly faded away.

“You shouldn’t have done that.”

The world around him shifted as he arrived in a different place.

“Well, I don’t blame you.” Samyaza kept on talking with him. ” I had offered the same pact to hundreds of demigods….only three rejected it.”

A nostalgic smile appeared on his face. “Even with no memories my brother is still smart.”

Samyaza being as old as he is…understand the nature of living beings more than anyone.

He knows how they always want to cling to thier power.

How they will do anything to keep that power to themselves.

He stopped walking.

The ground beneath him shifted from soft grass to polished marble — the air colder, heavier.

Samyaza looked around.

The place was vast and dark, illuminated only by faint white flames burning along the endless hallway.

It wasn’t heaven, nor hell. It was between.

He stopped before a giant mirror that stretched from floor to ceiling.

Inside it shimmered countless reflections — each showing a different beings.

Some were angels. Some were monsters. A few… were just men.

He placed his palm against the glass.

“Tell me, Edwin,” he said softly, “do you think my brother understands what he’s becoming?”

The crystal didn’t answer, but Samyaza could feel the soul’s confusion.

“He’s touching divinity far older than even Primordials,” he continued.

“The boy doesn’t realize it yet, but he’s already rewriting the laws of this world.”

He looked down at the crystal again.

“You demigods always thought power was something you could own — something you could control.” He smirked faintly. “But my brother… he is power.”

He raised the crystal to his eye level, the faint light of Edwin’s soul trembling.

“Tell me, little demigod,” he whispered, “do you want to see what’s coming next?”

The crystal shuddered.

He snapped his fingers.

The white crystal shattered and the light inside got free.

In the next instant two eyes larger than hundred houses appeared behind it.

The soul of Edwin couldn’t even understand before it was swallowed completely in the mouth of something he couldn’t comprehend.

Samyaza who was watching all this smiled faintly.

“I hope you get well soon.”

He said with a slight bow, a hand behind him.

“….Father.”
