Chapter 642: Chapter642-Parting
The tunnel formed of pure light finally reached its end.

The scenery around them no longer rushed backward at terrifying speed. Instead, everything froze—utterly still—suspended within a vast, chaotic void.

This was the source of the Time River.

The place where time was born.

Daniel came to a halt.

Behind him, the gods continued forward due to inertia, rushing several steps ahead before they realized that Daniel was no longer moving. One by one, they stopped and turned around, their gazes falling upon Daniel, who stood alone at the origin of time.

“We’ll stop here.”

Daniel raised his hand and distributed the specially modified Seed of the Planes to every god present.

“Now is the moment for you to leave.”

Faer accepted the small seed, its surface faintly glowing with layered divine inscriptions. He looked at Daniel with confusion evident in his eyes.

“Leave? Lord Crossbridge… what do you mean by that?”

“These Seeds of the Planes contain all the God Rank Skills I’ve granted you,” Daniel replied calmly, as if stating something entirely mundane.

“They also include a complete ritual formation. When you eventually step into the Inner God realm, you’ll be able to rely on it to preserve your self-awareness.”

The moment those words fell—

Every god present felt their breathing quicken.

Their gazes grew heated, burning with a mixture of awe, shock, and uncontrollable desire.

“You want us to leave?” Aurelia was the first to fully grasp his meaning. Her voice carried disbelief.

“And you’ll stay here alone?”

“Aren’t we supposed to fight together?” she pressed.

Daniel smiled faintly, his eyes sweeping over the assembled gods.

“The battle is already over—for you, at least. What comes next is my own affair.”

“You call this your own affair?!”

Luke stepped forward sharply. The ease and composure she usually carried were gone, replaced by naked urgency.

“We’re facing a monster formed from the fusion of Knowledge Daniel and Inner God Daniel! How could you possibly fight that alone?”

“And if you stay,” Daniel asked quietly, “what will you actually accomplish?”

The question silenced them all.

Yes… what could they do?

Even a single avatar of Inner God Daniel had nearly wiped them out. Against the unknown existence that was about to be born—something surpassing even the Inner God level—what use were ordinary gods like them?

“Big brother, we can help you share the burden!” Luna spoke up anxiously. “We’re gods too!”

But Daniel’s response struck them like a blade.

“You would only distract me. Because in the next battle, you would truly die.”

Those words wounded them far more deeply than any attack ever could.

Luna said nothing more.

She rushed forward and grabbed Daniel’s arm tightly, shaking her head with all her strength. She didn’t speak—she didn’t need to.

Luke and Isabella stepped forward as well, seizing his other arm.

“We’re not leaving.”

“If we go, we go together.”

“Crossbridge, you cannot stay here alone.”

They tried to force him away from the Time River’s origin.

But Daniel stood perfectly still.

Immovable.

His gaze passed over the three goddesses in front of him and landed on the figure standing at the very back.

“Kartora.”

The Time Goddess’s body trembled slightly.

“Take them away. This final battle does not require your involvement.”

Kartora’s expression was deeply conflicted.

She looked at Daniel, restrained by the three goddesses, then at their resolute faces.

“I can’t,” she said softly. “They won’t listen to me.”

“You can,” Daniel replied calmly.

“You are the Goddess of Time. More than anyone else, you know exactly what their fate will be if they remain here.”

He fixed his eyes on her.

“Tell me, Kartora. In the timelines you’ve seen—if they stay—does that path lead to survival… or death?”

Kartora’s face drained of color.

As the Goddess of Time, she could glimpse countless possible futures.

And in every single one where they remained for the final confrontation—

There was only one ending.

They were erased instantly by a power beyond comprehension.

Not only that—their deaths created irreversible flaws in Daniel’s own fate.

Their presence was not aid.

It was the greatest burden of all.

Daniel saw the answer written plainly on Kartora’s face.

“Take them forward,” he said gently.

“Use the seeds I gave you. Grow stronger. And live.”

Kartora closed her eyes.

When she opened them again, all hesitation was gone—only the resolve of a god remained.

She bowed deeply to Daniel.

“I understand.”

In the next instant, she acted.

A vast, invisible force of time spread outward from her body, instantly enveloping Luna, Luke, and Isabella.

“Kartora—what are you doing?!”

Luke cried out in shock as she realized she could no longer move, as if her body had been sealed within amber.

Luna and Isabella were the same.

They could only watch as Kartora approached them.

“I’m sorry,” Kartora said softly, guilt threading through her voice.

With a wave of her hand, the three goddesses were pulled toward her, completely unable to resist.

Faer and the other gods watched in silence, their mouths opening as if to speak—only to close again.

They knew this was the only choice.

And the correct one.

“Take care, Lord Crossbridge,” Faer said solemnly, bowing deeply.

The other gods followed suit, offering their farewells.

Kartora did not hesitate any longer.

She unleashed her divine power and led the gods onward, deeper into the Time River—toward the unknown realm that symbolized a brand-new beginning.

Their figures soon vanished beyond the far edge of the light.

The origin of time fell silent.

Only Daniel remained.

He stared in the direction the gods had departed for a long time.

Then—

He turned around.

Facing the boundless, chaotic void behind him, Daniel raised his hand.

A longsword formed from pure temporal power materialized in his grasp.

[Time Sword].

Daniel lifted the blade and gently slashed toward the path Kartora had opened.

There was no sound.

No light.

Yet the time passage itself—created by Kartora—was severed at its very origin.

The path was cut.

They would never be able to return.

And their enemy would never be able to follow.

Daniel lowered the sword, its tip resting against the ground.

He looked into the swirling void before him and spoke calmly.

“Come out. I know you’re here.”

As his words faded—

Space twisted.

Folded.

Collapsed inward.

One figure emerged.

Then ten.

A hundred.

A thousand.

Ten thousand.

One black silhouette after another stepped out from the folds of space.

Each of them looked exactly like Daniel.

Each of them held a black [Destruction Blade] in their hand.

In the blink of an eye, tens of thousands of Inner God Daniels surrounded him.

The entire origin of time was flooded with savage, destructive intent.

Daniel stood at the center of the encirclement.

His expression was calm.

In truth, he had long anticipated this Monolith Mask.

He smiled faintly.

Then he spoke, slowly and clearly.

“It seems the real war… is finally about to begin.”

“Good.”

“That gives me the perfect opportunity to test my current strength.”

As his words fell—

In the next instant, the God of Thieves’ Dagger activated.

More than twenty thousand avatars erupted into existence simultaneously, filling the battlefield in an overwhelming surge of divine presence.

The final battle had begun.
