Chapter 234: Call To Council Meeting
“We can’t let them outshine us.” Vanessa said as she took a deep breath before dodging to the right, the Centipede monster shot past her.

This one was much more faster than the other but it was still within what they could handle. “Rita, Luna, the rest of you guys! We’re going to aim for destroying every piece of flesh it has and then it’s brain too!”

Luna looked up at her. “How are we going to do that?”

The monster was picking up momentum again to turn back to them but Luna held up her hand, now that it was smaller… the cost for redirecting or canceling it would be smaller as well.

‘That doesn’t mean it’ll be easy.’ She thought as her hand glowed.

“Zero Shift!”

A lot of energy escaped from her as the movement of the Centipede stopped completely and Vanessa raised up her fingers as blood began to leak up.

“Thank you.” She said while shooting five beams of blood into the mouth of the centipede, they didn’t rip out the other side but rather remained in the Centipede but that was the point.

“Expanding Blood!” She let out and separated both of her hands abruptly, immediately the Centipede’s large body began widening. “There’s no guarantee that destroying it like this won’t let it regenerate so… prepare your attacks while it’s immob—”

There was a flash of light as Grimm shot past her in a blur, heading toward the Centipede monster while holding his spear in his hand.

[@KnightShift: BRO DON’T DO IT]

[@RexLuvsBecka: NAH HE’S DEAD 💀]

[@SpearFan: THIS IS A BAD IDEA]

[@MomentumMami: GRIMM PLEASE STOP]

[@ItsGrimmTime: LET HIM COOK]

He continued spinning through the air and instead of preparing the spear, he instead curved his leg and then once he brought out his leg on the monster, it smashed into the exo-skeleton of it, completely shattering the leg in one go.

[@BruhStation: I know that hurt]

[@OwMyBones: MY LEG STARTED HURTING TOO]

[@LunaSupremacy: GIRL HE NEEDS HELP]

[@RogueMedic: PLEASE HEAL HIM]

[@VCORE: 💀💀💀]

‘Idiot…’ Lucius thought and then focused space into Grimm’s spear.

Grimm bounced off the monster’s body and floated through the air while the expanding Centipede turned to him and opened it’s mouth, revealing rotations of several sharp teeth but Grimm merely grinned wildly as he reared the spear backward.

‘I need to make Boss proud.’ He thought as his eyes glowed.

The monster’s face grew more closer and Luna raised her hand, about to use Momentum Shift but the next instant, Grimm’s hand shot forward and threw the spear through the air, a shockwave threw him backward as the spear dove into the monster’s mouth and came out the other way, ripping it open.

It screamed aloud and removed it’s focus from Grimm as it began expanding even more.

“Momentum Shift!” Luna yelled out and Grimm shot through the air and into her arms, she held him by the shoulders.

“Grimm, are you okay? Your leg looks…” She looked at the mangled leg with a grimace.

There was a sudden burst of holy magic in the air, washing over all of them, it made Luna feel more calmer and as for Grimm, his wounded leg healed up completely.

Luna looked over to the Saintess and saw a concentrated amount of holy energy forming in front of her, just the shockwaves coming from charging the attack filled her up to the maximum.

The monster continued inflating and then more tears began to expand on it’s skin.

And the next instant, it popped open turning into blood and bones that splashed around but just as Vanessa had predicted, the body parts began returning as the monster fully regenerated.

Rita raised both of her hands in the direction of the regenerating monster and then managed a smirk.

“Evisceration…”

To Luna, it felt like the world turned white for a moment… no, the sheer momentum behind the attack had sent all of them flying as a ball made of holy energy shot through.

She used Zero Shift to make sure everyone wouldn’t be blasted away by the force and then focused on the orb that Rita had shot… it wasn’t too big but it wasn’t small either.

All of this was happening within seconds but for some reason, she was able to see it clearly… the path, the distortion of air, the warped mana around it.

The ball slammed into the monster’s body, throwing out another shockwave as every bit of it was completely eviscerated then it shot off like a bullet.

[@HolyMama: I BLINKED AND MISSED EVERYTHING]

[@ReplayBtn: PLEASE SLOW IT DOWN]

[@SaintessIsHER: SHE DID THAT WITH ONE SPELL??]

[@MeltedCentipede: LITERALLY VAPORIZED]

[@GoatedTrio: THEY CARRIED]

The world returned to normal and she turned to the Saintess with wide eyes.

“How fast was that going…?” Luna looked at the Saintess who was letting out deep breaths.

“Really fast… I can’t really calculate the speed.” Rita replied as she let out another breath. “But thank goodness we’re done.”

Out of that one, a golden big ass core which was shaped like an oversized peach floated over to them and Vanessa caught it.

She looked at Lucius and it seems he was giving the Supreme Guild a pep talk while Supreme Man was over his shoulder like a dead chicken.

Just then the black world around them popped, revealing the ruined city around them where they had entered days ago.

Dust, ruined walls, and abandoned buildings reappeared around them as the dungeon layer peeled away like a broken illusion.

There was a car already there with a woman wearing a council worker uniform.

She approached Lucius and held out an ID just as the P40 drone was deactivated.

“Please, Master Lucius. The Council has requested an urgent meeting with you the moment you returned, you are to bring the Dragon girl as well as Supreme Man.” She told Lucius and Lucius looked at her.

“Don’t you see I’m exhausted?” Lucius asked as he walked past her.

“The Council has said that if something like this happens and you don’t show up for this meeting, they have the right to take down all of your benefits.” She replied as her legs shook. “The meeting is really important.”

He looked at the woman. ‘Eh? The council was being so submissive and now they want to take out all of my benefits for a simple meeting…?’

He stroked his non-existent beard and sighed. “Fine, let’s go.”

He would use this chance to extort more money from the council… that much wasn’t an issue.

‘Or hey… I can make them sponsor my world tour.’ He thought as he got into the car’s front seat, throwing the unconscious Supreme Man to one side at the back while waving at the others. “Oh Minerva… come here too.”

The dragon girl took off her hat and revealed her flowing hair as she got into the car with Lucius and then the woman drove off.

…

“According to what I was told… it takes a day or so to get over to the city from here.” Lucius said as they rode through the quiet ruined outskirts, “It’s faster with flying but flying is annoying. I don’t feel like carrying anyone today.”

“There’s a secret shortcut, Master Lucius,” the council woman suddenly added, gripping the wheel tighter.

Without warning she turned sharply toward one of the collapsed buildings. It looked suicidal. She accelerated instead of slowing down, and Lucius lifted a brow.

From the passenger seat, Minerva looked mildly concerned. “Is… that a wall?”

It absolutely was.

But the moment the car reached a certain point on the cracked pavement, the entire building sank into the earth like it was dissolving.

The road beneath them dropped, forming a narrow tunnel surrounded by reinforced stone.

“This shortcut leads us directly under the Council building where the meeting will take place,” she explained as if she hadn’t almost killed them.

Lucius exhaled. “You could’ve warned us before the whole ‘drive into a collapsing death trap’ part.”

“My apologies, Master Lucius,” she said, though her grip on the wheel didn’t change. “I was instructed to make haste.”

She continued driving, taking sharp, precise turns with surprising skill for a council worker. The tunnel branched like a maze with stone arches overhead marked by faded symbols.

Lucius watched the branches pass. “Where do all these other roads lead?”

“Oh? This is an underground formation leading to several important places… military vaults, evacuation bunkers, storage for restricted artifacts and all that…” Her voice was calm, but she turned again, wheel jerking left so hard Minerva had to grab onto the seat.

Then a glowing blue symbol appeared on the ground.

The moment the car crossed it, the vehicle lurched forward violently like something had attached rocket thrusters.

The acceleration slammed everyone back into their seats.

‘It’s almost like this is a damn car game from Earth,’ Lucius thought as the walls became streaks of motion.

The speed did not feel legal or safe.

Eventually the tunnel straightened and the car slowed just enough to not break physics. It finally slid to a stop at a stone wall with a metallic panel embedded into it.

She stepped out, tapped the wall, and an elevator smoothly slid open.

Lucius stepped inside, lifting Supreme Man over his shoulder with Minerva trailing silently behind him. She looked strangely nervous

After a short ride upward, the doors opened into a circular meeting room.

The long table was polished obsidian, lit with white-blue glyph lights. Seated around it were the council members and all were staring directly at Lucius.

Especially the Runenforscher clan head, who looked like he’d aged twenty years in two months. He wouldn’t even look Lucius in the eyes… he just stared at nothing, trembling slightly.

Lucius raised a brow.

“Why is everyone looking at me like I murdered their parents or something?” He stepped inside lazily, Minerva following like a shadow. “Where are we anyway?”

“This is one of the Council’s meeting rooms that exist all over the country. It’s in a secluded zone,” the President answered stiffly, folding his hands on the table.

“Oh? And why is that?”

Before anyone could answer… A shattering, explosive sound echoed through the room.

Something moved toward Lucius at a speed faster than most eyes could register. An arm covered in thick, golden scales rushed forward with murderous force aimed directly at his face.

Lucius sighed.

The punch collided with Infinity and stopped dead like it hit a wall made of reality itself.

“Who might you be?” Lucius looked unimpressed at the blond-haired man snarling at him, dragon wings unfurled behind his back. “…Wait, I’ve seen you before.”

The blond dragon elder doubled down with his muscles bulging as he tried to force his arm through the barrier.

The ground beneath his feet cracked from the pressure. But Infinity didn’t budge… not even a millimeter.

Lucius blinked slowly. “Oh. You’re the one who yelled at me over the phone. On my own Internet.”

Lucius lifted two fingers lazily, like flicking away a fly.

Space detonated outward.

A massive shockwave blasted through the room and threw the dragon elder straight out of the chamber, sliding down the hallway with smoke trailing from his shirt.

The table shook… papers flew and several council members grabbed onto their seats to avoid falling.

Lucius lowered his hand. “The older generation really needs to learn how to respect the younger generation…”
