Chapter 201: Suck It
“I don’t think climbing up a pair of stairs is as hard as you think it is,” Vanessa said.
She was breathing steadily despite the growing incline.
They were halfway up the endless stone staircase snaking along the mountain, and although the steps looked normal, they possessed a strange property: each new step seemed longer, heavier, and steeper than the last.
Strangely enough, Vanessa treated the entire ordeal like a personal workout routine.
She even wiped sweat from her forehead with an oddly satisfied smirk, as if the staircase was a treadmill sent from heaven.
‘This would be perfect but that butt plug is making me walk awkwardly.’ She thought then wiggled her ass a bit. ‘I think Lucius likes my ass this fat… I hope my belly fat goes down then.’
Lucius, in contrast, nearly fell backward to the ground.
Luna, who was walking behind him, quickly caught him before fell.
“Even if you’re not fat… you need exercise. You can’t just teleport everywhere.”
Lucius bit back an indignant reply.
‘I teleport because it’s efficient, obviously!’
But there was no teleporting here. There was no hovering and not even flight.
Even his smaller mobility spells had been suppressed, leaving him trudging up the stairs like a regular mortal.
He hated it.
“It’s tiring,” he muttered, dragging his foot up another step as if gravity had tripled out of spite.
“We’re only halfway through,” Luna pointed upward.
The top wasn’t too far away… visually, at least. “Once we reach there, we get to the third floor. Don’t faint already.”
Lucius looked at the remaining distance.
His vision blurred and his knees wobbled making his soul briefly leave his body. The staircase even seemed to stretch longer the more he stared at it.
‘Is there seriously no simpler way to do this?’
His gaze shifted toward Grimm, who was casually bouncing the bunny in his arms like a plush toy.
The two looked like they were having the time of their lives, completely unaffected by the stair-induced suffering surrounding them.
Lucius approached.
“I’m borrowing your pet,” he said flatly.
Grimm blinked. “Huh?”
Lucius took the bunny, held it at eye level, and narrowed his eyes like that of a villain he was. “Transform.”
The bunny stared at him.
He stared back.
The bunny flinched.
Then, out of pure fear, it sneezed and ballooned into its large, fluffy, oversized form once more.
“Nice,” Lucius said, pleased. “That looks doable.”
He spread his arms wide.
“Alright. Carry me.”
Everyone froze.
So did the bunny.
And then the stream went insane.
[@HoneyFang: PRINCESS TREATMENT??]
[@BunnyBeliever: LUCIUS WANTS TO BE CARRIED I’M SCREAMING]
[@SageOfChaos: This man has NO shame, zero, nada]
[@AdeptMage42: Honestly? Mood.]
[@Skywalker-NotLuke: I would also ask the bunny to carry me tbh]
The bunny gave him an expression halfway between panic and resignation.
After a moment, it lowered itself onto all fours and bent slightly, creating a dip large enough for Lucius to lie comfortably.
Lucius wasted no time sinking into its plush back fur and closing his eyes like he was settling onto a luxury mattress.
The bunny sighed… an actual, deep, emotional sigh and then burst into a sprint.
It shot up the stairs with blinding speed, each leap covering multiple steps.
The rushing wind nearly blew Lucius’s hair back, but he pressed himself into the bunny’s fur and simply let the ride carry him.
Meanwhile, the rest of the awakeners stared. This was blatant cheating!
“COME BACK!!!” Grimm shouted as he watched the bunny disappear with his beloved pet.
[@SlimePrince: He STOLE THE BABY, ARREST HIM]
[@TurboBunny: Grimm is in TEARS]
[@VelvetStorm: Lucius riding that bunny like a king]
[@PinkPepper: That’s not princess treatment… that’s EMPEROR treatment]
[@RayOfDryness: And he STILL looks cool wtf]
…
It took the rest of the group almost a whole hour to catch up.
They reached the top panting, sweating, and barely conscious.
And there, lounging casually atop the oversized bunny like royalty, was Lucius with his arms crossed behind his head and his hair still perfect as usual.
The bunny, meanwhile, was chewing nervously on its own nails.
Grimm sprinted forward the moment he saw it.
“Chip!” he yelled, hugging the massive fluffball in the front.
Luna’s eyebrow twitched. “Really? Chip? That’s the best you could come up with?”
“Well… he is a guy according to you,” Grimm replied sheepishly, scratching his cheek. “So Chip was the best name.”
“I thought chips were for chipmunks!” Erika jumped in immediately. “He’s too majestic to be called Chip. Pick another name!”
Lucius slid off the bunny, landed with enough force to crack a shallow crater beneath his feet, and stretched his arms over his head.
“I feel better,” he announced, flicking his hair back in a dramatic swoosh.
Then he pointed at the ground ahead. “Once we cross that line, I’m sure there’ll be a monster attack.”
Indeed, a clear line was etched into the ground.
Several meters beyond it sat the majestic staircase leading to the third floor, glowing with golden light.
Supreme Man cracked his neck once and said, “Prepare for battle!”
Without hesitation, he sprinted across the line.
The moment he did, monsters burst into existence around him… large, feral shapes emerging out of mana distortions.
But the second surprise hit even harder.
The staircase vanished.
And instantly reappeared on a neighboring mountain.
“The fuck…” Supreme Man muttered, just before an oversized panther leapt on him and pinned him to the ground.
“Attack!” another Awakener shouted.
Everyone charged forward, the drone included, ready to get to scrapping.
Lucius prepared to join in, but suddenly felt a soft tug on his sleeve.
He turned sharply, expecting another monster.
It was Rita.
Her cheeks were pink and her eyes were quite glossy though the moment she touched him, a strange energy wrapped around them like a translucent dome.
“I… made us invisible to the ears and eyes,” she said quietly, pulling him behind a large boulder away from the battle. “I want some warmth.”
Lucius blinked. “Right now? Can’t you wait till—”
Before he could finish, Rita pulled them both down into a crouch.
Her hands hovered uncertainly.
“No need for hugs… I… I… I want to suck it this time.” she whispered with her face turning beet-red.
