Chapter 198: Cute But Deadly
There was chaos all over the forest.

“The whole forest is full of them! Prepare for attack!” Supreme Man shouted.

The trees rustled, and dozens of distorted shapes moved among them.

It seemed that this peaceful route that everyone thought was safe had turned into the most dangerous part of the floor.

Grimm raised his spear instinctively.

Luna activated her suit, and Lucius’s eyes glowed.

Everyone was ready for a bloody battle until the oversized, ugly bunny suddenly sneezed.

The sneeze echoed through the forest like a shockwave.

Its body immediately shrank back down, returning to the small, cute bunny that had been in Grimm’s hands moments before.

The same shockwave spread all around, and every other monster in the area also shrunk back into their tiny, harmless forms.

“Huh…?” Grimm blinked as the bunny rubbed its nose and began licking his ear again.

“I think his sneezing controls all the others to transform,” Luna said as she scanned the bunny with her visor. “Just make sure he doesn’t sneeze again.”

“O-okay…” Grimm nodded nervously, holding the bunny close as if it were a bomb about to explode.

The cute creature sniffled again, and Grimm immediately rubbed its nose to stop another sneeze. “You’re adorable but dangerous, aren’t you?”

He looked down at the bunny who just blinked and sneezed softly in his face.

Lucius sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “I can’t believe we’re walking through a forest trying to stop a rabbit from sneezing.”

The others snickered quietly, though Luna could tell the tension in the group had returned.

The forest was strangely quiet now and only the sound of their boots sinking slightly into the soft, squishy ground could be heard.

Every few minutes, the bunny would try to sneeze again, and Grimm would quickly rub its nose or whisper things like “good boy, no sneezing!” under his breath.

The rest of the squad followed, walking carefully.

‘This feels like babysitting a ticking bomb,’ Grimm thought, his eye twitching as the bunny’s nose twitched again.

Luna sighed from behind him, keeping one hand on her gauntlet and the other close to her hip, ready to activate her repulsers at any time.

After several minutes, the group finally reached a small stream up ahead.

The water was murky and brownish, with a foul smell rising from it. Despite the disgusting look, there were a few monkey-like creatures splashing happily in it.

“They’re kind of cute,” one of the female awakeners said, tilting her head.

Another one laughed. “Yeah, even if they’re playing in water that looks like literal sewage.”

The group eased slightly.

After the last fight, everyone was grateful for even a few peaceful moments.

Grimm crouched down, careful not to drop his bunny, while the monkeys giggled and splashed each other with dirty water.

But then, one of the monkeys sneezed.

A shockwave, just like the one from the bunny, spread through the entire forest. The cute monkeys began to grow and twist.

Their fur blackened, their eyes turned red, and their bodies swelled with muscle.

In seconds, they became grotesque, gorilla-like beasts towering over the trees.

“They’re cute, huh?” Lucius muttered flatly.

The ground shook as the mutated gorillas pounded their chests and roared.

One of them scooped up a handful of the filthy stream water and hurled it straight at the awakeners.

The brown sludge exploded on contact.

“Fuck, it smells like shit!” one of the awakeners shouted.

“It’s on my body!” another screamed, waving his arms.

“What are you all waiting for?! Kill them!” a third yelled, trying to wipe the stench off his armor.

Lucius flicked his hand, manipulating space around a stream of the brown water, redirecting it toward Grimm before anyone could react.

“Boss, wait—!”

The filthy water slammed into Grimm full force.

He toppled backward, coughing and sputtering.

“Fuck… this tastes bad,” he choked out, gagging. The bunny had once again become an abomination… but then it sneezed again.

Another shockwave spread through the air, and just like before, all the grotesque gorillas reverted to their smaller, cuter monkey forms.

Lucius crossed his arms and stared at the tiny rabbit.

“Why don’t we just kill all of them?” he said.

The squad froze.

“Kill them?!” Vanessa turned to him with wide eyes. “Lucius, they’re cute!”

“Killing these fluffy little things…?” Erika asked, horrified. “Boss, do you have something against adorable animals?”

Lucius blinked, looking from one disgusted face to another. “How did I become the villain here?”

Grimm, still dripping with dirty water, finally managed to sit up.

“Besides… they haven’t attacked us yet,” he said, wiping mud off his face. “If they attack us, then we can—”

A sudden thunderous sound cut him off.

All across the forest, the animals began sneezing again.

One by one, they transformed back into their monstrous forms. The trees shook violently as dozens of grotesque beasts roared in unison.

The bunny twitched its nose then sneezed once more, transforming back into a giant, muscular beast.

Its ears stretched wide and they glowed with mana. Before Grimm could react, it swung both ears like massive whips, slamming into him with the force of a hammer.

Grimm was launched through the air like a bullet, crashing into a distant tree and leaving a crater in it.

“Grimm!!” Trisha screamed.

Lucius just sighed, rubbing his forehead as the rest of the monsters began charging toward them from every direction.

“You were saying?” he asked flatly, glancing in Grimm’s direction as explosions of dirt and water erupted around them.
