Chapter 168: Weird Fatty
“Ah… I’ve seen her name.” The fat man nodded, tapping at his keyboard as his round glasses slipped down his nose. “She was registered to write the entrance exam next week. Do you want to put in a good word for her and admit her at once, just like you?”

Lucius leaned back in the chair with his arms crossed.

‘So this is the power of influence, huh?’

He could literally put in a good word for someone and they’d be admitted instantly.

Truly being special had its perks.

“Yes,” he said, and as the word left his mouth, another thought struck him.

He still needed to admit Raven.

His sugar mommy would have paid for everything and had him admitted as it happened in the original novel… so he would need to secure one for Raven too, even though Lucius doubted the guy had even registered in the first place.

“I want to do the same for one last person,” he said after a moment.

Contrary to the annoyed reaction Lucius expected, the fat man looked even happier to oblige.

“Ah, for who?” he asked eagerly, already opening another tab.

“I’m not sure this person has even tried to register,” Lucius said, watching the man’s fingers hover over the keys. “His name is Raven. He doesn’t have a family name.”

The man nodded and began typing again, his fingers surprisingly fast for someone with his build.

“Alright, I’ve received approval to go ahead with Emilia,” the man said after a few seconds. “She’ll receive the admission letter shortly.”

He continued searching the database, squinting at the glowing screen. “…Oh, it seems Raven registered two weeks ago.”

Lucius blinked, surprised. “Hm? He did?”

The man nodded again. “Yes.”

Lucius gave a small laugh and rubbed the back of his neck. “Makes my job easier, then.”

“Will that be all?” the man asked, turning his chair toward him with a polite, hopeful smile.

“Yes, that’s all I want,” Lucius said as he pulled out his phone. “Am I paying with money? Though I don’t like using it much…”

He looked at the man with a sigh. “I could make an exception.”

The fat man’s face went pale.

“N… No! No need for money!” he stammered. He fumbled in his drawer and brought out a marker instead.

Lucius tilted his head. “A marker?”

“Yes, yes…” The man took a deep breath and without warning lifted his shirt.

The sight made Lucius freeze in horror. The man’s large stomach wobbled slightly as he pointed at it proudly. “I just— I just wanted you to use the marker to write your name on my stomach.”

Lucius blinked several times, trying to process the sentence that just came out of this man’s mouth.

‘DO YOU HEAR YOURSELF?!’ he screamed internally, forcing himself not to speak aloud.

He had restrained himself from judging the man’s size earlier because it was rude especially when the guy was being helpful.

But right now… it felt entirely justified. Who literally asked another person to write on their body?!

Regardless, he sighed and used space to pull the marker out of the man’s hand so he wouldn’t have to touch him.

“Where should I…?” he muttered reluctantly.

“Right here,” the man said eagerly, pointing to the spot right below his oversized man-boobs.

Lucius bit his lip and leaned forward just enough to finish it quickly.

He wrote his name in neat letters: Lucius.

He straightened up immediately, wiping imaginary sweat from his brow. “Are we done here?”

“Yes, yes!” the fat man replied, completely ecstatic, as if Lucius had just blessed him with divine energy. “Thank you very much!”

Lucius passed the marker back through space, not wanting to come any closer, and his phone buzzed.

He pulled it out to check the message.

[MySweetVillainess: Hey, are you coming?]

He sighed, shaking his head with a smile.

“No problems,” he said, slipping his phone back into his pocket. “I’ll get going.”

Before the fat man could reply, Lucius vanished.

…

The world snapped back into color as Lucius reappeared several miles away in Northcrest city, at the edge of a busy street.

He adjusted his cap and scanned the crowd.

A familiar figure stood across the street, wearing a black hoodie and a baseball cap pulled low over her head.

Even with half her face hidden, he could recognize her anywhere.

Esme.

She was fiddling with her phone, scrolling nervously as she waited.

Her foot tapped lightly against the pavement. The streetlight beside her turned green, and she looked up, scanning through the crowd.

Lucius started walking toward her, blending easily among the people.

Esme adjusted the cap over her head again.

No matter how much she tried to calm herself, she still felt uneasy.

Lucius had been trapped in that dungeon for two and a half days… two and a half long days.

It had taken everything Tinny could do to keep her from storming Grimmaw herself.

She really had been itching to blow something up.

But now that he was safe, all she could feel was relief.

“But at least he’s good now…” she whispered to herself, tucking a loose strand of dark purple hair behind her ear.

She looked at the cinema building behind her and bit her lip.

They had a movie planned for the morning… A horror movie.

She’d bought the tickets hours ago, already imagining the look on his face when the jump scares hit.

The thought made her smile.

“He’s gonna freak out for sure,” she murmured under her breath.

She was so lost in thought she didn’t even notice him approach.

“There you are,” a calm voice said from behind her.

Esme turned around instantly and froze.

Lucius stood there in a black tracksuit, his cap tilted slightly forward but she could still recognize him.

For a moment, Esme forgot how to breathe.

‘Why does he look so much more handsome?’ she wondered, her cheeks warming as she looked him over.

Without thinking, she took two quick steps forward and wrapped her arms tightly around him.

Lucius blinked, a bit surprised but not displeased.

Her hug was firm, like someone afraid to let go.

“Dummy…” she muttered against his chest. “If you died, who would I watch horror movies with?”

He chuckled quietly, resting a hand on her head. “You could always watch with Tinny.”

She pulled back just enough to glare at him.

“That’s not the same!” she said, but the pout on her face quickly turned into a reluctant smile.

Lucius laughed softly. “Whatever you say.”

“Whatever,” she huffed, but her voice had softened.

She took his hand in hers and turned toward the cinema doors. “We’ll be watching The Floating Eyeball today. I got us two tickets since Tinny said the best experience is with other people.”

She paused at the entrance, giving him a grin over her shoulder. “Shall we?”

Lucius raised an eyebrow, amusement flickering in his eyes. “You’re already dragging me along, Esme.”

And just like that, she pulled him through the glowing entrance doors.
