Chapter 166: Reunited
“Are you sure she should be sleeping like that…?” Lucius asked, turning slightly as steam drifted out from the bathroom doorway behind him.
He had just finished showering… His hair was still damp although he loved her shampoo, he would come and take it off her hands later.
He was wearing a clean black tracksuit with a matching cap.
His former clothes were now stored neatly in his inventory, though Cassandra had already washed them earlier.
He didn’t know how Cassandra managed to get his exact measurements for the tracksuit, but it fit him perfectly, as if it had been tailored just for him.
He wasn’t going to question it. Some things were better left unexplained, especially when they worked in his favor.
As for the one he was referring to… Elena was sprawled across the bed, her golden hair spilling over the sheets, still fast asleep after their “activities.”
Her arm dangled off the bed’s edge, and one of her legs was bent awkwardly over the blanket.
It was unladylike but at this point, even Lucius couldn’t help finding it funny.
“My lord… it’s fine.” Cassandra’s voice broke his thoughts.
She stood a few feet behind him, her maid uniform was as perfect as ever, not a wrinkle out of place.
“I’ll give her a bath once she wakes up. She’s only resting. Will you need help getting to your residence? I can tell one of the maids to drive you hom—”
“There’s no need,” Lucius said, glancing at her reflection in the window.
He was holding his phone loosely in his hand. “I have a ride waiting for me.”
“Oh, okay,” Cassandra said softly, bowing slightly. “Please have a safe journey, my lord. And take care of yourself.”
Lucius gave her a smile as he slipped his phone into his pocket. “Thank you. You do the same too. And… wash her up when she wakes up.”
Cassandra bowed again. “Of course.”
Lucius turned and left the room.
…
The mansion’s halls were quiet except for the ticking of the ornate grandfather clock by the stairway.
He walked slowly with hands in his pockets.
Each time he passed a maid, they froze for a second before offering awkward smiles and hurrying off, whispering to each other once they thought he was out of earshot.
He sighed quietly.
“They’re acting really cute,” he muttered under his breath.
When he finally reached the large front doors, one of the younger maids was waiting there… the same one who had bought him the new phone earlier today.
“My lord…” she said softly, looking up at him. “Please be safe. And be sure to come back next time.”
Lucius smiled.
“Thank you,” he said. “I’ll be back soon… hopefully.”
With that, he opened the tall glass door and stepped out into the late afternoon.
He barely took a few steps before space magic rippled around him and in an instant, he teleported outside the gates.
A familiar black car was waiting by the curb, he could recognize it even from afar.
It was The Tempest.
Lucius tilted his head. “Hm? Who’s driving?”
He approached the passenger seat, squinting through the tinted glass.
Before he could even touch the door handle, something came hurtling at him from the side… fast.
He almost reacted but the moment he sensed the mana, he stopped himself.
The impact was warm and soft.
“M-my lord,” a trembling voice said against his chest. “Is it truly you… and not some clone?”
Lucius blinked down at the woman clinging to him.
Silver hair. Maid uniform. A smell of lavender perfume and… short.
“It’s me,” he said with a sigh, patting her head. “I don’t think a clone would come out of a Mage General’s place unscathed.”
Villy sniffled, pulling back just enough for him to see her face.
Her eyes teared up slightly, though she wasn’t crying… not yet.
She looked like she’d been holding back tears for days.
“It’s really you,” she whispered, her voice trembling.
Lucius nodded. “Yeah. It’s me.”
She didn’t say anything after that, just let out a shaky breath and held onto him for another moment before finally stepping aside to let him into the car.
He slid into the passenger seat, and she climbed in right after, practically sitting on his lap.
Lucius raised a brow. “You’re not planning to move, huh?”
She shook her head. “No.”
He sighed but didn’t push it.
“Welcome back, my lord,” she said softly. “How was your trip to the dungeon? You were stuck for three days… the media’s been full of posts about you.”
“I see…” he murmured, leaning back against the seat. “We’ll deal with that later. For now, are we going to get home?”
Villy hesitated. “I’m not really in the mood to drive, my lord…”
“Really?”
“I apologize but… I don’t want to get off of you.”
Lucius tilted his head. “Should I just teleport us home since you’re not in the mood to drive?”
…
Several minutes later.
The black Tempest appeared silently in front of the mansion’s garage.
Inside, the lights turned on, illuminating the spacious interior.
The rest of the household had gathered near the windows, waiting anxiously.
Vanessa, Luna, Emilia and Elara… all of them looked on edge.
Even though Lucius had been found, they needed him in their arms.
And finally the familiar sound of the Tempest’s engine reached their ears.
“It’s them!” Luna shouted but waited.
The others did the same.
The car rolled to a smooth stop, the garage door closing behind it.
The driver’s door opened first.
Villy stepped out, holding a large cup of soda.
Her cheeks were flushed but she smiled proudly.
Then Lucius stepped out on the passenger side… wearing his tracksuit, looking calm and just a little too smug for someone who’d survived a dungeon shift and intense sex with a Mage General.
He was also holding a drink.
“See?” he said as he took a long sip through the straw. “Driving isn’t all that bad.”
Villy rolled her eyes. “That’s because you didn’t drive.”
He grinned and adjusted his cap. “Fair point.”
They walked toward the mansion’s front doors.
The moment he opened them, the warmth of home hit him.
“Hey everybody,” he said, smiling as he raised his soda. “Sorry we kept you waiting—”
He didn’t get to finish.
The next second, his drink went flying out of his hand as several bodies crashed into him.
Luna, Vanessa, Elara and Emilia all hugged him at once, their voices overlapping in a chorus of relief.
“You dummy!”
“Are you okay?!”
“I was worried sick!”
“Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!”
“Master….”
Lucius staggered back, caught completely off guard as they clung to him tightly from all sides.
Their breasts pressed against him, their hair brushed his face and their words were muffled against his chest.
He blinked and then a familiar voice called out sharply behind them.
“Don’t suffocate my lord with your breasts!” Villy barked, waving her free hand in alarm.
All three women froze instantly.
Vanessa turned red.
Elara stepped back, stammering apologies.
Emilia looked reluctant and…
Luna looked like she wanted to argue but chose to retreat too.
For a long second, he didn’t say anything.
Then, slowly, a small, genuine smile spread across his face.
‘Why does this feel… so peaceful?’ he thought quietly, his shoulders relaxing as the tension left his body.
After everything that had happened … it was exactly what he needed.
‘I’m really glad to be home.’
…
“Lucius… sit down here,” Elara suggested, patting a spot beside her on the long couch. “You can put your leg on the table if you want. You must be exhausted.”
“Oh?” Lucius raised a brow but obeyed, lowering himself onto the couch.
The cushions sank under his weight, molding comfortably around him.
When he stretched out and rested one leg on the polished glass table, a sigh of relief escaped his lips.
“Thanks, Elara. That’s actually perfect.”
Before Elara could respond, the rapid sound of footsteps echoed from the hallway.
“Lucius!” Luna’s voice came next, followed by the faint clatter of dishes.
She appeared at the doorway, holding a silver tray with both hands.
Steam rose upward from a plate filled with pasta… thick noodles glistening with sauce and chunks of meat.
“When someone comes back from such an experience,” Luna said, slightly out of breath, “they’re supposed to eat their favorite food to cheer up. But…”
She bit her lip and frowned. “I forgot to ask what yours was.”
Lucius looked at her, then at the food. “This looks amazing,” he said.
“It’s pasta made with Red meat,” Luna explained quickly. “It’s not poisonous, don’t worry!”
He took a fork, twirling the noodles before tasting it.
The moment the flavor hit his tongue, he groaned softly.
“Delicious,” he muttered, with his eyes half-closed.
Just that word made Luna’s face light up.
“I’ll bring more!” she said, practically glowing with pride before rushing back toward the kitchen.
Elara chuckled quietly. “Master… you’re going to spoil them if you keep talking like that.”
Before Lucius could answer, Emilia walked in carrying a tray stacked with chilled glass bottles.
“Here,” she said, setting them down on the table. “I stocked up on cold drinks, all premium ones. You can pick whichever you like.”
Lucius scanned the bottles and reached for one labeled Fizzypop.
He twisted the cap open with a faint hiss.
“Oh, you got Fizzypop?” he asked.
“Yes,” Emilia replied, smiling shyly. “It’s been selling well since you advertised it. I thought you’d want some.”
Lucius placed a hand on her head and gave her a soft pat. “Thanks, Emilia.”
‘They’re trying so hard,’ he thought. ‘Well… I’m not complaining. Life’s good.’
