Chapter 141: Assemble
She felt the breeze brush against her lip…
It made her shiver a bit.
She was about to pull back, to pretend she hadn’t leaned in that close…
but then she felt something softer touch her lips.
They were his lips.
Lucius’s hands had already slipped to her waist, tilting her upward so he could kiss her better.
The world went still for her in that instant; even her heartbeat seemed to pause.
Luna froze, eyes fluttering closed, completely losing herself in that moment.
His lips were soft… so incredibly soft and moved against hers with just enough pressure to make her head spin.
‘He’s actually kissing me…’
Her knees felt weak.
She would’ve melted into him completely if he hadn’t been holding her in place, guiding her as if he’d done it a thousand times before.
And then… just as she started to relax into it…
He stopped.
Her lips parted, her eyes slowly opening, a dazed pout forming on her face.
“Why did you stop?” she asked with a small voice.
She hadn’t even gotten a chance to savour it. He hadn’t even given her tongue.
Lucius sighed. “Your phone’s ringing.”
“…What?”
She blinked, confused, before hearing the buzzing from her pocket.
She reached down, pulling the phone out, and glared at the glowing screen.
[Delivery Company.]
Luna let out the loudest sigh known to mankind.
“Of course,” she muttered bitterly.
Kiss-blocked by a package… Her life couldn’t get any worse than this.
“Hello,” she said, answering the call.
Her tone was polite, but her soul was quietly screaming.
After a short conversation filled with confirmation codes and addresses, she hung up and turned to Lucius, cheeks still pink from the earlier kiss.
“They’re outside.”
Lucius raised an eyebrow. “What are you looking at me for?”
“There are so many boxes coming in,” Luna said, puffing her cheeks. “We won’t be able to carry all of them with hands alone.”
Her expression softened into the perfect image of puppy-eyed pleading.
Lucius stared for a moment, weighing his options between ignoring her or giving in.
He sighed. “Fine.”
Her face lit up instantly. “Thank you!”
…
A few minutes later, they stood outside the mansion’s gate.
The delivery truck was massive… easily large enough to carry the entire contents of a small warehouse.
The driver, a burly man with a cap and an overworked expression, looked at them and froze when his eyes landed on Lucius.
“Wait…” he murmured under his breath, blinking several times. “You’re him.”
Lucius gave a polite nod. “Yeah. Me.”
The man looked like he wanted to ask for an autograph but decided against it when Luna waved a clipboard in his face.
“Alright, here you go,” Luna said with her usual bright tone, handing the signed form back to him. “Now can I get my stuff?”
“Sure thing, miss,” the driver replied, glancing nervously toward Lucius. “But, uh, there are a lot of boxes.”
Lucius crossed his arms, staring at the truck that looked like it had been packed by someone trying to move an entire factory.
“We’ll manage,” he said simply.
The driver chuckled awkwardly.
“If you say so…” He turned to open the back latch.
“Hey, I got a gift for you,” Lucius said suddenly, making Luna stop in her tracks.
Her eyes widened. “A… gift?”
Lucius smiled faintly and brought something out from his pocket.
A silver ring.
Luna blinked, caught completely off guard.
“Is this what I think it is?” she asked, her voice trembling slightly as her face turned pink.
Was this it? Was he actually proposing to her? Right here? After that kiss? Was she dreaming?
Lucius looked at her expression and chuckled. “No, it’s not.”
The sparkle in her eyes dimmed instantly. “Oh.”
“That’s a space ring I created today,” Lucius explained calmly, sliding the ring onto her finger. “It should have enough capacity to keep your packages. Connect with it and let’s go.”
She stared at him for a moment, caught between embarrassment and awe, and then sighed.
“Right… of course.”
Lucius turned and began walking toward the truck.
Luna took a deep breath, closing her eyes to focus.
She could feel the ring reaching out to her… like a small tug inside her chest. When she mentally reached back, the connection solidified, and a flood of energy rushed through her.
‘This is insane…’ she thought as her mind brushed against the spatial pocket within the ring.
It was vast… larger than any storage item she’d ever seen.
“He really made this…”
By the time she reached the truck, the driver had already unlocked the back door. The moment it swung open, her jaw dropped.
There were hundreds of boxes. Large, small, tightly packed… a ridiculous mountain of cardboard filled every inch of the vehicle’s interior.
Lucius glanced at her. “Now try to take all of them.”
Luna hesitated. “All of them?”
“You have five thousand cubic meters,” Lucius said dryly. “You’ll manage.”
She nodded and took a deep breath, raising her hand toward the open truck.
In her mind, she pictured the boxes… every last one and willed them to move.
‘Only the boxes,’ she thought carefully. ‘Just the boxes of my goods.’
A blue glow spread from the ring, rippling through the air.
And then… one by one, the boxes began to shimmer.
The driver’s eyes widened as, before his very eyes, dozens upon dozens of packages vanished into thin air.
Within seconds, the entire back of the truck was empty.
“W-w-what just happened?” he stammered, jaw hanging open.
“Thank you for your help…” Lucius said casually, glancing at the man’s uniform. “Phil.”
Phil blinked down at his nametag, completely speechless, and then looked back up. “Y-yeah! No problem, sir!”
He saluted awkwardly before scrambling back into his truck. The engine roared to life, and he drove off like a man trying to escape from a miracle.
Lucius turned back to Luna, who was still staring at her hand in amazement.
“How does it feel,” he asked, “to be able to store all of that?”
She grinned, holding her hand close to her chest. “It feels amazing.”
“Good.” He adjusted his glasses. “Alright, let’s head inside.”
…
Luna clapped her hands together once, summoning ten glowing red boxes and ten blue ones out of thin air.
They floated and landed on the basement floor…
“The red boxes are for the complex drones,” Luna explained, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. “And the blue boxes are for the simple models.”
“Understood,” Villy said, stepping forward.
Her eyes gleamed a bright green as she focused on the red boxes.
She took a deep breath. “Analyze…”
The air trembled.
All ten boxes burst open simultaneously, cardboard shredding itself apart like invisible claws had torn through them.
Several mechanical components… steel casings, propeller blades, mana batteries, and micro-crystals, erupted into the air, spinning slowly around Villy like a storm of parts.
And then she took a deep breath, the green glow spreading around.
“…Assemble.”
