Chapter 238: A strange condition.
“Did you miss me? I did.”

Merely looking at her, Dorian could not help but feel increasingly uncomfortable.

It was as though he was looking directly at his past—a place he so desperately did not want to tread.

“Yahoshi,” he called out rather nervously. “Last time we saw each other, you were still human…”

There was a slight pause in Yahoshi’s demeanor.

At first, it seemed like she was upset about something.

Then, increasingly so, a smile began to grow on her face.

It wasn’t a normal smile.

No, it was the same smile Dorian had seen on the faces of most women around him.

A chilling, obsessive smile.

“Oh, how I have longed to hear your voice. Hearing it yet again is like music to my ears.”

Dorian threw a disgusted look her way, but it was something he quickly hid behind a false smile.

{Master, please be careful. I don’t like this woman. It’s weird.}

Lili’s voice echoed in his head.

‘Trust me, I know.’

Dorian now focused his attention on Yahoshi, who seemed to be glaring at him with the thought that he was no longer paying attention to her.

With the same breath, Dorian uttered, “My voice, eh? I remember you loved it back then. Good days, am I right?”

He scratched the back of his head, acting casual.

“So when were you going to tell me you were the Witch God?”

His next question carried a bit of seriousness in his tone, no different from how he sounded when he wanted to interrogate a criminal.

Yahoshi had the same expression on her face, only hers was born from disappointment and something more.

“We finally have the chance to speak to ourselves, and you are still hung up on this. Jacob, you can be so heartless at times.”

Slowly, Yahoshi stood up from the stone she had been sitting on.

Her hair fell to the front of her chest, and her dark gown swept the ground behind her as she walked.

It didn’t take her long to finally arrive in front of Dorian. This was followed by her observing his body like he was some kind of new specimen.

She rubbed his head, stomach, hair, and face, checking to see if it was truly her Jacob standing before her.

Yahoshi went as far as sniffing Dorian’s neck, all while the small smile on her face remained.

Dorian remained as calm as possible, trying not to do anything that would offend her, at least not until he had gotten all the answers he needed.

Once she was done, she pulled away for a while, searching Dorian’s eyes.

Then, a few seconds later, she held his face even tighter, pulling her lips closer for a kiss.

The witches who were watching at the back had their cheeks completely flushed, surprised that Yahoshi was truly going for it, especially so suddenly.

Ciel had a different look on her face, and it was one of disgust.

A witch actually had the audacity to think she could kiss her master, so freely as well.

And the onlookers all looked like they were ready to get off just watching it happen in front of them.

Then it happened.

Dorian placed his palm over Yahoshi’s lips, slowly pushing her away before she could land a kiss on him.

“That isn’t why I came here.”

Hearing what he said, and faced with the fact that he rejected her advances, Yahoshi could not help but wear a dark, almost expressionless look on her face.

She took a few steps back.

“I knew I should have killed those girls when I had the chance.”

Yahoshi slowly moved away, her fingers brushing against Dorian’s shoulders as she passed.

She made her way back to the rock she was seated on moments ago, crossing her legs and then resting her jaw on her palm, all while she was still smiling ear to ear.

“It looks like you have grown even more attached to them than I had anticipated. Looks like my boyfriend is quite the ladies’ man.”

A look of confusion played on Dorian’s face.

“What do you mean by that?” Dorian asked, attempting to get some answers from her.

“Right. I shouldn’t be surprised that you would want to know the truth behind everything. Seeing as you finally came to see me and al—”

Yahoshi paused mid-speech, her eyes glued to Ciel.

Then it settled into a terrifying look.

“So the rumors from my children were true as well. You really did find the child of Ragor. Hmm, then again, you wouldn’t be my Dorian if you weren’t impressive.”

Before Dorian could utter a single word, Yahoshi raised her finger, as if to silence him from saying anything.

“I know why you’re here. You don’t have to explain yourself. Just as I know all the questions you have for me, I also have all the answers you seek. That said, Jacob, you betrayed me. Getting married to three women? How could you forget about me so easily?”

‘Except we were never really dating. You forced me into a relationship.’

Of course, Dorian couldn’t say that part out loud, especially since he didn’t know how she would react to that.

Instead, he bowed his head only slightly.

“I apologize about that.”

Yahoshi stared at him for a while.

With her legs still crossed, she leaned back, the serious look still playing on her face.

“No.”

“Eh?”

“No.”

Blink.

Yahoshi leaned forward, a seductive smile on her face.

“I agree to tell you the answer to every question you have. Only if you agree to go on a date with me.”

Everyone in the room froze.

Dorian himself was a bit taken aback by her request.

He blinked multiple times. If anything, he was expecting something more brutal than going on a date.

“You want to go on a date… with me? That is the condition you have?”

“Yes. Is there a problem? We used to go on dates all the time.”

Dorian narrowed his gaze a bit.

‘Wait, she is actually serious. That is all? Normally, I’d be flying on this offer, but this is Yahoshi. She once locked me in a basement with a deck of cards as the bait. This is 100% a bait as well.’

He hummed in thought.

‘Then again, this is as good a chance as any without having to shed needless blood. Not that this guarantees any kind of peace. If the God of Gamble was alive, this would have been as good a chance as any to make a pact.’

After thinking about it for a while, Dorian finally made his decision.

“Okay. If that is your condition, then I accept.”
