Chapter 233: Where is she?
“Let go of me! You damn human! How dare you touch me?!”
A woman with long purple hair had been thrown to the ground, right in the center of the throne room.
She was surrounded by multiple men, each dressed in red uniforms and carrying weapons of their choice.
The woman seemed afraid, though she tried masking it under a guise of cockiness.
She continuously glanced around her, trying to see if there was a way she could escape.
Why?
Well, it was simple. She had been caught by the infamous witch hunters.
Because she, of course, was a witch.
With a single trail of sweat rolling down the side of her face, she suddenly pointed at one of the men surrounding her.
“You there. I—if you let me go right now, I’ll bless you with all the power you can think of. A witch never breaks her promise. I promise you this: you can have me to yourself all you want.”
Rather than a decent response, all she got from the man was a disgusted look. His face remained mostly hidden beneath his helm.
“Don’t speak to me, you filthy witch.”
The woman was so shocked by the response that she could only freeze, unable to say anything after that.
It wasn’t news that people who ended up turning into witches were attractive enough to make men fawn over them merely by looking their way.
In many cases, men had been known to turn into witches and return as extremely attractive women.
This was why this particular witch found it hard to believe such a man would reject the idea of being with her that easily.
Especially seeing that she intentionally picked him because she could sense that he was the strongest amongst everyone present there.
‘What do I do? If this keeps up, they are going to kill me for sure.’
She slowly began to panic.
Actually, there had been news of the witch hunters killing witches in the kingdom over the past few weeks.
Because of this, many of the witches who had been disguising themselves as humans went into hiding after seeing their fellow witches get killed in the streets like animals.
Some believed they were supposed to fight back, believing they were the superior race and should not be running from the likes of humans.
As such, they too fought, but they were quickly captured and killed like every other witch before them.
The purple-haired woman was no different.
She had killed three witch hunters before she was finally caught. There was little chance of her leaving alive.
Baam!
The witch noticed all the soldiers had straightened their stances and were all looking toward the throne.
She did the same and noticed Ravina was now seated there. Her stomach bumped out a bit, hinting that she was pregnant.
“The Wielder…” The purple witch froze in fear even more.
She knew if Ravina was here, along with the blade Faja, then there was truly no hope for her.
Ravina was staring deeply at the witch, her gaze glowing a purple hue, enough to scare anyone who knew of her powers.
“Bring her closer,” Ravina spoke with a cold tone.
Immediately, one of the soldiers grabbed the witch by the arm, ignoring her protests as he pushed her forward, right in front of Ravina, where she could get a closer look at her.
“If it isn’t Her Majesty, Ravina, the wielder of the mighty sword Faja.” The witch slowly stood to her feet, looking at Ravina with an amused look on her face.
“You know of me,” Ravina said, not breaking character.
“Everyone does. I mean, you are suddenly hunting witches after how long? Conveniently after one of our own found the Dragon Monarch. We all know you hogged him for yourself. Long enough to get pregnant, as it would seem.”
The rest of the soldiers who were present in the room in that moment would not have hesitated to cut the head of the filthy witch from her shoulders if given the orders to do so.
The audacity was truly shocking in her words.
“I see. News even spread to lower-ranked witches like yourself. Interesting. Well, that makes things easier for me, I suppose.”
Ravina stretched her hand to the side, summoning the white, shining blade Faja to appear in her grip.
Once it did, the first thing she did was aim it directly at the witch’s foot. The sharp blade pierced her foot and stayed still there.
“Ahhhhrghhh!”
A loud scream left the witch’s mouth as the energy from the blade settled in her foot and slowly spread up her legs.
It felt as though a thousand needles were constantly stabbing her at different areas of her leg, enough to drive the average person into madness.
It didn’t take long for the witch to drop to her knees, her eyes widened in pain as she wondered what to do.
On one hand, she could not stop the pain. If she were to bring her hand or any part of her body too close to the blade, the white energy would stick to her skin, transferring the pain there as well.
But on the other hand, the longer the pain continued, the more likely it was that she would truly go mad on the spot.
It wasn’t like the pain was killing her; rather, it was simply torture and nothing else.
“P-please, h-have mercy on me.”
The witch suddenly pleaded, her voice echoing throughout the entire room, followed by painful screams.
Ravina simply stared at her, watching as the witch screamed her heart out, blood trailing down her foot and dripping to the ground.
Pa!
She suddenly snapped her fingers.
The white aura that was once surrounding the blade disappeared, reducing to next to nothing.
A look of relief played on the witch’s face as she noticed the pain had reduced. Despite the fact she could not move, she was still grateful.
Then came a word from Ravina.
“Where is she? The Witch of Evernight? Tell me where she is.”
