Chapter 206: A sudden intruder.
Once she was done in the cafeteria, she made her way outside, sitting down on the wooden chair that was placed at the side of the road.

From where she was, she could see the other students roaming about the place, talking to one another, and actually building relationships.

Something Yelena had never once tried to do.

Attending the Royal Academy was not something she wanted to do anyway. She only took on the responsibility because she wanted to be of help to her brother.

Which she, of course, intended to carry out to the very end. But when she kept hearing of all the news coming from her homeland, such as Dorian getting married, she couldn’t help but feel a tad bit depressed at the thought.

It got even worse when people kept on calling her Dorian’s sister, day in and day out.

To her, it was quite obvious that they were trying to get close to her because of her brother’s influence in the kingdom.

But that wasn’t all.

How dare they constantly remind her that she was related to Dorian?

She glared hard at the book in front of her.

“We are not even blood-related.”

Gasp!

She heard the two women, Elara and Steacy, who had been standing near her the entire time, gasp in shock all of a sudden.

Curious, Yelena finally lifted her head to look at the individual who was now seated at the other side of the bench.

She wanted to give them a piece of her mind, wondering who would dare impose on her personal space.

But that boiling anger soon cleared when she realized it wasn’t a stranger who had settled on the same seat with her; it was her brother.

Her eyes widened slowly when she saw him.

Looking at her, Dorian pointed stylishly—

“What are you doing all the way out here? Don’t you have any friends or something?”

In a matter of a few seconds, Yelena’s excited look completely outshone the two girls who had spotted him first.

“Big brother!”

She launched forward, hugging him on the chair with her butt shot out and wiggling.

“It’s really you. You finally came to visit me after all this time!”

Yelena snuggled really tightly around him, her head resting on his shoulder and her arms curled up all behind him.

Dorian couldn’t help but chuckle a bit.

Even though he promised her that he would be visiting her every week, he never once made the effort to go see her. It was mainly because he had a lot on his plate, but still, he never came.

Thus, he expected Yelena to be mad at him if anything, but instead, she seemed weirdly overjoyed.

The other two had the same look on their faces, but they kept their distance.

Mainly because standing behind that very chair was Ciel, her dragon wings folded behind her back.

That was the famous dragon people had been talking about, the dragon said to have a humanoid shape and be loyal to Dorian Aurelian.

Dorian, still being hugged by his sister, took his time to scan the two girls.

‘I think that one is the Duke’s daughter, Elara, was it? And the other one is the girl I mad—I mean, that became my sister’s slave. I see they’re doing their job pretty well?’

Considering his popularity, he expected by now people would have swarmed his location like they would in any other area.

But because of Ciel, people rarely ever dared to do so.

The same was in this scenario, except it seemed as though they were wary of Elara and Steacy as well.

Suddenly, while Dorian was greeting the girls, Yelena pulled away from the hug, her arms still around his waist as she looked up at him.

“Brother…” she closed her eyes, with a chilling smile on her face. “Why did it take you this long to visit me? You made a promise with me, did you not? No, scratch that, just tell me the real reason why you’re here.”

Dorian tried to avert his gaze instantly, but before he could do so, Yelena grabbed him by the cheeks and forced him to keep his eyes on her.

“You see, the thing is, I kind of need your help with something.”

Hearing his response, Yelena calmed down a bit and sat back down on the bench after straightening her skirt.

Now seated, she placed both hands on her laps, pouted as she gave him the side-eye, and uttered—

“So, what do you need from me?”

“…”

Before Dorian spoke, he set a glare towards the girls.

They immediately understood and walked away, giving space for Dorian to say whatever he wanted without any fear of eavesdropping.

With them gone, he turned his attention back to his sister.

“I’ll be in the capital for a couple of days; there are a few projects that need my leadership. In the meantime, I need you to confirm something for me.”

“Like an inside job?”

“N-not necessarily. But I don’t expect you to go around telling people either.”

“…”

“…”

Yelena sighed. “What do you need me to do?”

“I need you to do some research in the academy library, the hidden one only we have access to. These are the three books I need: The White Sword Faja, The Dragon Monarch, and The Evernight Witch.”

For a brief second, though Dorian did not notice it, Yelena’s eyes flared, almost as though she heard something that scared her.

The excitement in her eyes died, replaced by a concerned look as she gripped the side of her arm.

“W-why are you trying to know about the Evernight Witch? Isn’t she, like, dead…?”

[Notice, I have detected an increase in stress levels from your sister. Please proceed with caution.]

‘What?’

Dorian paid closer attention to Yelena.

‘Why is she that worried about it? Don’t tell me—’

As soon as the idea popped in his head, Dorian grabbed Yelena by the hand and pulled her closer.

“Did Yahoshi come to you too? What did she do? Are you alright?!”

Questions started falling from his mouth with his eyes widened with concern.

Yelena looked scared.

Spooked.

And most importantly, speechless.

She didn’t utter a single word for the longest time.

At some point, it felt like the only thing she could hear was the sound of the other students at a distance as Dorian’s voice began to shallow.

“Master!”

At the sudden yelling from Ciel, Yelena finally got her bearings, and everything could be heard more clearly.

Dorian was of course still holding on to her arm, but the worried look on her face had turned to one of realization.

“You are obviously scaring your sister,” Ciel looked around for a while. “And I don’t think you want to attract this much attention from people.”

A quick sigh left Dorian’s mouth.

“You’re right. I take the fault for that.”

Perhaps it was because he had been indirectly looking for a way he could meet Yahoshi again. But the little hope he got from thinking there was a chance Yelena might know something caused him to overreact a bit.

And Ciel could tell this as easily as she could count her fingers.

She then turned to Yelena.

Unlike Dorian, it seemed as though Yelena was still trying to get herself together.

“Little girl. Forgive my master’s outburst,” she let out. “What he wants to understand is quite simple. Do you know something about the witch? Your reaction shows you do.”

Yelena, though her hair had covered the upper part of her face, almost felt disgusted at the question.

But eventually—

“Yes I have,” she replied, looking directly at her brother.

Dorian was shocked at this, but he knew better than to speak just yet, especially since there was still something he wanted to hear.

“The Evernight Witch—”

Before she could utter a single word, a figure appeared right behind her, resting her head right on top of Yelena’s head.

The figure was dressed in a black cloak and held a long, weird-looking staff with their other hand.

That said, Dorian already sensed them coming a mile away.

He acted quickly.

Jerking up from the chair he was seated on, he launched forward, grabbing the figure by the neck and pinning them to the ground in a matter of seconds.

His eyes glowed a green light as he watched the hood fall off the figure’s face.

It was a woman.

A witch he knew not about.

Her blue hair was scattered on the ground as she lay there, a smile on her face as though the mere action of Dorian squeezing the life out of her windpipe was an action to be happy about.

[This character is dangerous.]

[This character is dangerous.]

Dorian narrowed his gaze.

The system had never sent him notifications like these, not since his first battle with Ciel before he tamed her.

No.

He didn’t need the system notification to know this figure was dangerous.

“Who are you?”
