Reborn As Noble - Chapter 969
Chapter 969: More Than Enough ( 969 )
The girls softened, their expressions melting into fond smiles. All four hugged him at once, arms winding around his waist and shoulders.
Javier relaxed into their embrace, letting the tension melt away for a moment.
He looked around. “Hmm? Where’s Delya?” he asked, glancing from face to face.
Liana pulled back, lips quirking. “I believe she’s over at that table, pouting.”
Javier followed her gaze and spotted Delya sitting apart, arms folded, cheeks puffed out in a clear show of annoyance.
He blinked. “Err… what happened?”
Liana grinned, lowering her voice. “We all agreed to secure the table for everyone, but since she lost at rock-paper-scissors, so she’s stuck waiting there by herself.”
Javier stifled a chuckle, shaking his head. “Ah, I see. Well… let’s go join her before she gets any moodier.”
He smiled and started leading the group toward their table.
As soon as Javier sat down, Delya kept her arms folded, her pout deepening. She wouldn’t even look his way.
Liana set a plate in front of Javier, piled high with roast meat and drizzled in a savory sauce. Gloria filled his wine glass and took her seat close beside him, the two flanking him protectively.
Javier leaned forward, a gentle smile on his lips. “Delya?”
No answer, just a stubborn little huff.
He glanced at the others, then back to Delya. “Let’s eat. I’m exhausted, and honestly, I want to sleep early tonight. How about we all sleep together?” He tried to sound casual, hoping to coax her out of her sulk.
Still nothing. Delya’s lips pressed into a tighter line.
Javier’s smile turned a little sly. “Delya… I’ll make chocolate cake for you tomorrow. Just for you, I promise.”
Her head snapped up, pout vanishing, eyes sparkling. “Really?”
“Really. One special cake, just for you.”
Delya finally grinned, her mood transformed. “Okay~!”
The girls laughed quietly, the tension fading.
While eating, Javier’s mind wandered.
These next two weeks are going to be packed with schedules and celebrations.
First… Father’s vow of marriage. Well, I’m kind of looking forward to it since it’ll be all my mothers officially live on broadcast. The Queens of Armand.
And the next day will be Father’s wedding with Queen Mylezra. Good for her. I wonder how Mother is planning the wedding for them.
He watched Liana laugh quietly with Gloria, the two sharing a private joke as they sliced fruit. Mimi and Felicia argued playfully over the last pastry. Even Delya seemed to be in a much better mood.
Javier kept eating the meat with delight.
This is delicious. I wonder if Liana made this sauce? The taste is just like her cooking.
He glanced around, only his meal had it.
Ehehe… this is why I love Liana. She really knows what I like, how I like it, and everything about me.
Well, the others too, of course. I won’t let anyone steal my harem dream.
Hmm… and next week, Marcellus, Cedric, and Heres’s group wedding, huh?
Since Marcellus and Cedric are easy to please, a gold Pekko statue should do it, they both love gold anyway. If it’s not enough, I’ll just give them jewels. For their partners, especially Lithhia and Meira, since they became my personal maids back when I was little, I’ll craft something special from gold or mithril. Maybe add a rune of protection. It’s the least I can do.
But Heres and Kliatana… what kind of gift should I give them?
Javier took another bite and munched.
Mmph! This is good! Oh~
He couldn’t help but smile as he chewed, the rich, savory flavor filling his mouth. His thoughts drifted amid the quiet chatter of the girls beside him, the laughter echoing from other tables, and the clink of goblets throughout the hall.
This meat is really juicy. Combined with Liana’s special sauce… perfect.
Javier looked at his plate and pushed the veggies aside.
Ugh. Why did they put vegetables on my plate?
He picked up his crystal wine glass, took a slow sip, savoring the taste before going back to his meal.
Since I promised to make a memorable wedding for Aelius and Athine, I wonder what color Athine wants for her wedding gown and outfit. Should I ask Mother? No… better to ask Athine directly how she wants it designed.
With my magic crafting, nothing’s impossible. As long as I hear her ideas, I can sketch it, then craft it myself.
For the wedding venue, I think they’ll use the same place as Marcellus, Cedric, and Heres. Maybe just a few adjustments. I’ll discuss it with Erinnette later.
I’d better contact the city overseers and village chiefs. If the public celebration budget isn’t enough for Armand and Arjam, they can borrow from other funds first, I’ll cover it later.
A happy celebration like this should be for everyone. No one left out. All-you-can-eat buffet.
I bet the staff will be busy, since merchants from everywhere, plus our own farmers, will all pitch in for ingredients, food, everything.
Man, Armand’s people really come together. The moment I announced a free buffet, everyone started helping to cook and serve.
Javier kept chewing his meat in silence, lost in thought. Liana watched him quietly, worry in her eyes.
Is he sad about Ferine?
Felicia, Mimi, and Delya glanced at each other, all sensing something was off.
Gloria leaned toward Liana and whispered, “Is our husband thinking about Ferine?”
“Maybe… I don’t know,” Liana whispered back, concern tightening her voice.
Felicia slid in closer, her gaze fixed on Javier. “I still can’t believe Ferine would leave our husband.”
Mimi’s tail flicked. “True… I was surprised when I heard it.”
Delya looked down, her voice small. “If Danna-sama is sad, I’m sad too.”
Javier noticed their glances and put down his fork, brows knitting. “Why did everyone stop eating?” he asked, genuinely confused.
Liana hesitated, then forced a gentle smile. “You just look…a little down. Did something happen?”
Javier blinked, setting his fork down. “Hmm? No, I’m fine.” He took a sip of wine and shrugged, trying to brush it off. “I was just thinking about the plans, that’s all.”
Gloria leaned in closer, concern in her eyes. “Is it because of Ferine?”
Javier paused for a moment, then gave a pure smile. “Nah. Don’t worry about that. Ferine made her choice. If she’s happier that way, I won’t stop her. There’s no point holding onto someone who doesn’t want to stay.”
He glanced around at the four of them, his smile softening. “Besides, I have all of you here. That’s more than enough for me.”
