925: Squawk and Deceit ( 925 ) 925: Squawk and Deceit ( 925 ) Liana sat at the head of the table, her expression gentle but authoritative.

She glanced around the table, her voice gentle but firm.  “So, I trust there are no objections?

Does anyone want to raise anything else?”  All the girls nodded, agreement clear on every face.  Gloria flashed a contented smile.  “Since our schedule’s settled, I’d say it officially starts right after I get my well-deserved sweet moment with Young Master.”  Liana shook her head with quiet amusement.

“If you say so, Gloria.

The official schedule begins once we’re back in Armand.” She then looked to Felicia, Mimi, and Delya.

“But are you sure none of you want to return to your nations first?

It’s been at least a month or two since you’ve seen your families.

Aren’t you worried your parents might be concerned?” Mimi tilted her head, ears flicking, and shook it with a smile.

“Nya?

No need!

I’ll go home if I have to, but with a Pekko it’s easy.

I can travel back and forth without any trouble, nya~” Felicia gave a calm nod.

“My father knows I’m here.

Besides, there’s nothing urgent waiting for me at the palace right now.” Delya, dreamy as always, just smiled.

“I sent word back home.

They’re fine as long as I’m happy.” Liana nodded, reassured, her serene smile never fading as the meeting drew to a close.

“Well, if you all insist,” Liana said, smiling softly as she stood.  Gloria and the rest rose to follow, but before anyone else could move, Mimi perked up, her ears twitching.

“Nya~ Husband-sama!” she called, scampering straight into the living room.

She glanced around, no sign of Javier.

She started poking around, lifting up cushions, peeking under the table, her tail twitching in confusion.

“Nya?

Where is Husband?” Mimi mumbled, tapping her finger to her lips, ears flicking.

A moment later, Liana and the others caught up.

Liana’s eyes softened.

“Mimi?

What’s wrong?” Mimi spun around, tail high.

“Husband’s not here, nya!” Gloria and Liana exchanged a glance.

Gloria headed off to check the bedrooms while Liana walked toward the courtyard, motioning for Felicia to help search the rest of the house.

Delya drifted around the furniture, searching quietly with Mimi.

After a few minutes, Delya looked up, dreamy-eyed but certain.

“Danna-sama isn’t anywhere inside.” Mimi’s ears drooped, and she turned to Liana, waiting for direction, while Gloria and Felicia reappeared, shaking their heads.

Liana exhaled softly, gaze drifting toward the door that led outside.  “Let’s check the courtyard.

Maybe Buddy knows where he went.” She stepped out with the others, her eyes immediately drawn to Buddy sprawled out on the grass, surrounded by the other contented Pekko.

She strode up and called, “Buddy?

Have you seen young master?” Buddy cracked open one eye lazily.

“Cuquawked?” Liana repeated, “Have you seen young master?” Buddy shook his head with a smug squawk.

“Cuquawked~” Liana’s brow furrowed.

That was odd.

Young Master never just disappeared without letting anyone know.

Her expression sharpened, lips pressing into a thin line.

She lifted her hand, channeling a subtle mana pulse, her personal tracking skill.

But there was nothing.

No trace of Javier’s mana, no familiar magic presence anywhere nearby.

Her eyes turned icy, her voice deceptively soft as her aura flared.

“Gloria~ I believe Young Master must be wandering around town, flirting with women again.” Gloria’s lips curled into a sly smile.

“Ara~ perhaps he’s with that beautiful officer… what was her name?

Racia, wasn’t it?” Felicia’s tone was sugar-sweet, but her eyes flashed.

“My, my.

So our husband is still searching for new women when he already has so many of us?” Mimi’s nose twitched, ears perked high as she sniffed the air.

“Nya!

Young Master’s scent isn’t here at all, nya!” Delya slipped on her shoes, her dreamy expression turning focused.

“Let’s go check the market.

Maybe we’ll catch him in the act.” Liana took command, eyes serious.

“We’ll split into two groups.

Gloria, go with Mimi and Delya.

Felicia, you’re with me.

If we find him flirting, drag him straight home.” “Yes, First Wife!” the girls chimed, setting off toward the heart of town with fierce determination.

After the others had left, Javier stirred under Buddy’s wing, groggily poking his head out and glancing up at the massive Pekko.

“I think I just heard Liana and the others…” Javier mumbled, yawning as he scratched his head.

He peered blearily at Buddy.

“Cuquawked!” Buddy squawked, fixing Javier with a look that seemed to say, You’re imagining things.

Go back to sleep.

“Really?” Javier muttered, glancing around the empty courtyard.

Convinced, he nestled back under Buddy’s wing, let out a sigh, and promptly drifted off again, hidden and peaceful beneath the Pekko’s warm feathers.

After an hour of fruitless searching, Liana’s patience snapped.

She strode straight into the Farkam Town office, her steps crisp and purposeful.

The Armand staff, all in uniform, straightened at her entrance, their faces paling as they recognized her.

“Welcome, Miss Liana,” one greeted, bowing politely, palm pressed to his left chest in the proper Armand salute.

Liana’s gaze swept the office, sharp and assessing.

“Has the young master been here?” she asked, her voice polite but with an undertone that brooked no nonsense.

“Ah… um… no, Miss Liana,” the staff member stammered, visibly nervous.

“Really?” Liana’s eyes narrowed, her smile polite but unyielding.

“He’s not hiding inside, right~?” “N-no, Miss Liana!

Young master is definitely not hiding in here, I swear!” The poor staffer was sweating now, silently praying he wasn’t about to get caught up in some Young Master mischief.

After all, everyone knew the personal maids held more authority than the regular staff.

“If… if you want, Miss Liana, you’re welcome to check every room yourself,” he offered, trying to appease her.

Liana smiled sweetly, her composure never slipping.

“That won’t be necessary.

Pardon me for interrupting your work.

By the way, could you direct me to Officer R-a-c-i-a?” “Miss Racia?

Of course, Miss Liana.

She’s in her office, just down that corridor.” “Thank you.” Liana gave a polite nod, then glided toward the office in question, her presence leaving the staff with a collective sigh of relief.
