Chapter 710: Two Territories
The moment Rael pressed “Yes,” his surroundings began to strangely disintegrate.
It was a little weird, since this was different from the usual teleportation, but since Burger wasn’t saying anything, Rael didn’t panic and simply closed his eyes.
A few minutes passed in the blink of an eye.
Then, a few hours.
And when Rael finally felt a slight breeze brushing against his back, he finally opened his eyes.
To his genuine surprise, he suddenly found himself in the middle of a rock formation that seemed to extend way up into the sky, past the clouds.
The grass was especially long, and the flowers were the size of skyscrapers.
Trees, on the other hand, were nearly as big as the rock formations Rael was surrounded by.
It seemed like a strange realm.
But then again, it would be weirder if a realm made specifically for dragons had human proportions for everything.
[Seems like you’re between the Ferina Mountains and the Herald Forest,] Burger said. [It’s not a bad spawn, if I’m being honest. If you go past the rock formations, you should see the Ferina Mountains as well as the Rock Dragon tribe.]
After a brief pause, he added, [You could also go into the forest… But the Nature Dragons are a bunch of bitches. I mean it literally. They’re all women, and one of their main goals when jumping up a Dragon Heart Tier is to drain the essence of a man.]
“You mean…?”
[Yep. I call them Dragon Succubi,] Burger replied seriously.
Hearing that, Rael felt like he was only left with one actually decent choice.
And that was to go to the Ferina Mountains and meet the Rock Dragon tribe.
But first…
“What exactly is a Dragon King, by the way?” Rael asked.
[King of a tribe or a specific branch of dragons. You should find the Rock Dragon King, but I doubt you’ll easily get an audience with someone like that. They are considered Dragon Kings for a reason,] Burger answered.
It made sense.
But Rael kind of thought that these Dragon Kings would be one per race, as in the Dragon Race.
For there to be so many of them…
I remember you mentioned a Dragon God last time. Is something like that real?
Burger had said that he could get 11 Tiers to his Dragon Heart if he had the Dragon God bloodline.
Thankfully, Burger seemed to recall that as well.
[Oh, right. Uhh… There are 5 Dragon Gods, if I recall. That number probably increased, since these dragons all think they’re better than one another,] he said. [Though, if I had to guess, it shouldn’t be any more than 10 by now.]
How does one become a Dragon God? Rael asked.
After a brief pause, Burger replied.
[Reach Grade 10, be acknowledged by at least 25 Dragon Races, and have a Grade 10 wife. It’s to ensure you’re not a pump and dump kind of dragon, and you could produce offspring that can take your place in the foreseeable future.]
That made sense.
It was quite smart, actually.
Though, the requirements did feel a little weighty.
And as it stood, it was clear Rael couldn’t just become a Dragon God, since none of his wives had reached Grade 10.
Either way, since it seemed like just some title, Rael didn’t bother with it any longer and flew up.
Since Burger told him to hide his wings, that was what he did.
Rael could use his dragon wings too, and honestly… they looked pretty similar to the angel wings he had.
Either way, he chose to not have any and just fly with mana instead.
So as he went above the clouds, only then did Rael realize just how big this Realm was, and how large everything was.
Especially the mountains where the Rock Dragons lived, as they towered far beyond the clouds, and even now, Rael couldn’t see where they ended.
They covered the whole sky… literally.
So without further ado, Rael began flying toward the mountains, and in mere seconds, he arrived at one hole in the side of a mountain.
It was a fairly large hole, and if he had to guess, it was just enough to fit a dragon.
There weren’t any staircases though, so Rael simply navigated the cave upward, passing by a few occasional golden coins, until finally, he was met with a dead end.
Though his Primordial Sight managed to see through the dead end, as it was nothing but an illusion.
Rael took a few calm steps through the illusion, and once he set his foot down onto the ground, he heard a distant rumbling.
At first, he didn’t think much of it, but once he saw a large boulder hurtling toward him, Rael froze for a moment.
It wasn’t catastrophic, and he could easily dodge it… but he was a little puzzled by how something like this was useful.
Aren’t all the residents in the Dragon Realm dragons?
What would a boulder do against a dragon?
[Some dragons aren’t as strong as others. This test is for endurance, and so, if you’re a baby dragon and you find yourself in this position… you might break a few bones,] Burger said.
It was as if he spoke from experience.
Did he…?
[No, I wasn’t tortured like this when I was younger. Instead, I went through some other kinds of rituals. After all, each dragon tribe has their own methods.]
Rael nodded in understanding and then glanced at the incoming boulder.
It reached him, made contact, and then shattered in an instant.
He sighed from sheer speechlessness and continued on ahead.
Every now and again, he was met with another trap.
But then again, none of these traps could actually do anything to him.
And so, after what felt like several hours, Rael eventually saw the cave widen slightly.
There were large torches engraved into the walls, and furthermore, Rael saw several brown dragon scales littered across the ground.
And up ahead, he felt a bunch of mana, which only meant one thing…
He finally reached the Rock Dragon tribe’s home.
