Chapter 704: Aging Them
The moment Rael heard those words, he sighed to himself and raised his hand.
In the next instant, ten Heavenly Slashes descended and swept across the army of Ancient Primordials.
Or so he would have hoped.
Instead, another Ancient Primordial who seemed to be on the level of Loki stepped in and effortlessly blocked Rael’s attacks.
And all he did was simply wave his hand.
Rael couldn’t learn his ability straight up, but it did seem like it had something to do with mana disintegration.
After all, the air crackled around his hand when he did it.
Maybe Rael could do it too if he carefully used his Laws…?
Probably not.
Nevertheless, since Rael made the first move, Loki didn’t hesitate to make one as well.
He took a step forward and thrust his hand at an incredible speed, aiming straight for Rael’s throat.
Yet because of his foresight and speed, Rael easily reacted, ducking under the punch and then throwing one of his own.
But Loki clearly baited Rael in for the attack, as the moment Rael’s attack was about to connect, a sharp strand of mana appeared from Loki’s extended arm, immediately cutting off Rael’s arm.
That didn’t matter much since Rael managed to regenerate it instantly.
Then again, that one exchange made Rael back off as he realized that winning the fight right now would be difficult.
If he used the Violin Blade, he might be able to do something.
But the odds were slim regardless.
Though Loki seemed to have enjoyed that little exchange as he raised his hand and then quickly lowered it.
In an instant, hundreds of Ancient Primordials all dashed toward Rael, their speed practically the same as his.
Only then did he realize that the only difference between them and him was the fact that he had the Law of Infinity.
If he were to fight them fair and square with none of that, every single one of these people would beat his ass.
It was definitely a reality check.
But even so, Rael reached into his inventory and pulled out the Violin Blade, then hit the Violet String soon after.
A beautiful melody resounded.
Yet it didn’t seem that beautiful to the Ancient Primordials who heard it, as the silver note soared through the air and skimmed past a few of their necks.
And that was all it took.
A single slash on the neck to kill ten Ancient Primordials.
More importantly, it was only one slash out of the millions he could do in a second.
So with that in mind, Rael prepared to strike the Violet String again.
Yet he wasn’t able to, as the Ancient Primordial who first blocked his attack suddenly appeared in front of him.
To Rael’s surprise, he snatched the thousands of notes from the air and crushed them in his palm.
Yet as he was about to crush Rael’s throat, Anna dashed in from the side at a surprising speed and jumped up onto the shoulders of the incoming Ancient Primordial.
For a moment, Rael thought she would bite his soul.
But instead, she sent a swift kick to the Ancient Primordial’s head and lopped it clean off.
As the head flew by him, Anna abruptly jumped upward and then slammed her foot straight through the Ancient Primordial’s body, splitting it in two.
It looked like he died.
But then Rael noticed that his time was quickly rewinding.
And for that reason alone, Rael acted swiftly, sending tens of Heavenly Slashes directly into the Ancient Primordial’s body, only for the attacks to be deflected by Loki, who pulled the Ancient Primordial back and allowed him to regenerate to the fullest.
For once, his side nearly won the exchange, but in the end… that was all because of Anna.
She had some weird abilities that let her slip by unnoticed, and clearly, if she was just able to injure a powerful being like that, she had something up her sleeve.
Regardless of that, Rael and Anna backed off, reappearing beside Anna.
“A few of them are dead. I don’t think we can win this, though,” Anna pointed out the obvious.
Rael’s brow twitched.
“Not with that attitude.”
Anna glanced at him. “It appears your head has been hit pretty hard if you believe we can win this.”
Right as Rael was about to retort her words, Gaia let out a soft hum.
Then, she raised her hand and waved it at the Ancient Primordials that were not too far away.
For a moment, complete silence descended.
Yet soon enough, Rael’s ears began to ring, and after a couple more seconds, a bit of blood fell from his ear.
He wasn’t the only one to whom this happened, as Anna, as well as every single Ancient Primordial present, suffered the same fate.
Just instead of Rael and Anna suffering a mild headache, the heads of hundreds of Ancient Primordials suddenly burst in unison.
Rael’s eyes widened in shock.
He wasn’t sure what Gaia just did.
But whatever it was, she reduced the numbers significantly.
As for Loki and the two other Ancient Primordials who were on his level, it seemed like they aged thousands of years.
Loki in particular now had wrinkles on his face, and his mana was completely zapped away.
He seemed very weak right now.
And as if recognizing the danger, he snapped his fingers and slowly began turning into smoke.
But before he could run away, Gaia’s figure flickered as she suddenly reappeared behind Loki and grabbed his neck.
His disappearing act was rendered useless as Gaia held him by the neck like some kind of rat.
Gaia glanced over at Rael with a slightly disappointed face.
“Is that it…?”
“…?”
Seriously?
Was she always this arrogant?
Either way, she got back on track and tapped the struggling Loki’s forehead.
In the next instant, his whole body went limp as the rest of his mana vanished.
She waited a few seconds and then tossed him aside before ultimately glancing at the remaining Ancient Primordials.
And without waiting even a moment, she approached them slowly.
