Chapter 646: A Visitor
Just like that, for the next few hours, Rael and Lilith went from territory to territory, establishing the fact that she was now the ruler of those said territories.
Each territory had at least two major cities and ten towns, as well as a couple of tiny villages.
Even so, Lilith had gone to each one and said the same thing. Naturally, not even a single demon was dissatisfied with this change.
And when they were finally done, Lilith chose Velmar as her base of operations.
Apparently, this city was where she spent the majority of her childhood.
She had gathered quite a lot of paperwork from all the cities, towns, and villages she had visited, and after putting them inside her inventory, it totaled nearly ten thousand pages of dogshit.
At least a million complaints, and Rael could only wonder what else there was.
It seemed like during this whole fiasco, Elizabeth hadn’t touched even a single complaint or addressed a single issue either.
It wasn’t an understatement to call her severely incompetent.
Because that’s exactly what she was.
Even so, as Rael stared at Lilith who, despite the amount of paperwork, seemed eager to start it, he decided to help her out.
With the snap of his fingers, he summoned a hundred constructs, and since his stats were extremely high now, they were both smarter and more efficient.
For that reason, the moment they saw Lilith and the paperwork, they immediately got to work.
Lilith stared at Rael for a few moments, unsure of what to say.
But instead of saying anything, he simply made a few hundred more constructs, and they too went to work.
Lilith wanted to start working as well, but Rael simply wagged his finger at her.
“All this work shouldn’t be done by the ruler. My constructs are now loyal subordinates to you, so command them. They are very capable, I can assure you.”
She stared at him for a few moments and then simply sighed.
Standing up, she began commanding the constructs, and as expected, they listened to every word she said.
More importantly, because of the high Agility stat, the speed at which they were filling up the documents and reading through them was so high they were able to finish a few hundred pages in just a few seconds.
And so, as they got to work, Lilith and Rael eventually stepped out.
“Thank you,” Lilith said.
Rael shrugged.
“You know you don’t need to thank me. It’s the least I can do.”
“Hmm… true. So do you want to kick off and do something more important?”
“Something like what?”
She walked past Rael, and after twirling on her heel, she turned to him with a smile.
“Territories are most often politically obtained, while some… well, for lack of a better word, taken by force.”
Rael nodded.
“So whose land are we taking by force, then? Elizabeth’s?”
She shook her head.
“Definitely not. Dealing with her territories is a mess. I’ll do it eventually, but definitely not now. Let’s go for a more established territory.”
She pointed in the distance.
“You see, my brother was very bold in the past. He placed one of his territories on the border of Velmar, and since he was very confident, he never expected anyone to take that territory from him. Why would we? We would be too afraid to go against him.”
Chuckling slightly, she added, “But I don’t care anymore. Let’s take it from him.”
Rael stared at her for a moment, then nodded.
Why not.
It’s not like it’ll be hard.
So he didn’t worry about it, and after she told him some information about the territory, the two of them flew toward it.
They crossed the distance swiftly, and as they glanced down at the bustling city, Rael had begun to wonder what kind of methods Lilith would employ.
Maybe some kind of political mind game?
Winning over the people?
Uhh…
He was wrong both times, apparently.
Because she simply flew over to the castle and then lowered her hand.
In the next instant, a large carpet of black flames descended from the sky, and after passing through the castle, the only thing left was a bunch of ashes.
Lilith hummed to herself and clapped her hands a few times.
“Occupation successful!”
“…”
No shit?
Could this even be called occupation?
She kind of just swooped in and killed everyone.
Well, as barbaric as the methods were, since Lilith did it all with a smile, Rael didn’t say a word.
Instead, he watched as she descended into the castle, quickly cleaned up all the ash, and then gestured at him to summon a few constructs.
Rael summoned ten.
A few constructs to deal with the paperwork, and a couple to handle the chores.
When he was done, Lilith simply stepped into the main office, and after sorting through the documents, she found a document detailing who the ruler was.
She picked up a nearby quill and crossed out the name of her brother, and then she wrote down her name.
Rael was like 99% sure that wasn’t how it worked, but with how cute she was being, he let her do her thing.
After she was done with the obvious bullshittery, she moved on to flying above the city and once again using her Calamity Demon abilities to gather everyone.
The speech she gave was also the same, and coincidentally, the reaction she got from the people was also identical.
It really did seem like everyone loved her.
He could only wonder how she was in the past.
But aside from that, he observed everything with a smile.
That was until he caught a presence in the distance.
It was approaching rapidly, and it was surprisingly powerful.
If Rael had to guess, the power belonged to a Grade 6, and a high-level one at that.
Rael stared in that direction for a few moments longer, and then he snapped his fingers, stopping time.
He slowly walked through the air, and eventually, he approached that frozen figure.
It was a man who looked identical to Elizabeth, and if Rael had to guess, this was Lilith’s brother.
But since Rael could feel the clear malice, he should probably start by teaching her brother a quick little lesson on basic etiquette.
