Chapter 320: Back In The Dimension of Time, From A Week to A Month
Sam opened his eyes to find himself inside the [Dimension of Time], the massive white space stretching endlessly in every direction and looking exactly the same as it always had.
The ground beneath his feet was smooth and pale, without texture or shadow, and the air felt heavy in a way that only this place ever managed to feel.
‘Perfect,’ Sam grinned to himself, his lips curling upward as he took everything in, ‘I guess I’ll finally be able to train properly now that I entered the [Soul Realm].’
That thought alone filled him with a quiet sense of satisfaction, even if it came with an unavoidable drawback.
Whenever he actually wanted to train seriously from now on, he would have to come back to this place.
There was no way around it.
The [Dimension of Time] had become an essential part of his growth, whether he liked that dependence or not.
Without wasting any time, Sam raised his hand and summoned his [Primordial Clone].
The space in front of him shimmered faintly, and a moment later, the clone appeared, standing perfectly still and staring straight back at him with the same calm expression.
Unlike a simple training dummy, the clone radiated pressure.
It was strong.
Far stronger than anything most beings would dare to fight repeatedly.
That was exactly why Sam preferred it.
If he wanted to improve, he needed an opponent that could keep up with him, mirror him, and push him beyond his limits.
The two of them slowly took their stances, facing one another across the empty white expanse.
Sam exhaled softly, then brought up his skill panel, his gaze scanning through the long list of abilities he possessed.
“Hm,” Sam muttered quietly as he read through them all.
Each skill was powerful in its own right, many of them bordering on absurd by normal standards.
Still, power alone wasn’t enough. Control mattered just as much.
Beyond those abilities, Sam also possessed one more skill.
[My Last Stand Before Death].
He didn’t even bother considering it seriously.
There was no realistic way to train with something like that.
[You can’t even use it anyway, it only works in a real situation.]
‘Expected,’ Sam replied internally, not bothered in the slightest by the confirmation.
That skill was meant to trigger when everything else failed.
He wasn’t planning to rely on it.
Just as he was about to engage the clone anyway and start refining the abilities he could use, the space around him suddenly reacted.
Rumble!
The entire [Dimension of Time] shook violently.
The ground beneath Sam’s feet trembled, sending subtle vibrations through his legs and up his spine.
The empty white horizon seemed to warp and ripple as if reality itself was being stretched.
The rumbling continued for several seconds, long enough for Sam to tense slightly.
For a brief moment, he even wondered if he was about to be forcibly ejected from the dimension.
Thankfully, that didn’t happen.
BOOM!
A massive presence manifested above him.
High in the white sky, a giant cloaked figure appeared, its form immense and impossible to fully comprehend at a glance.
Its hands spun in wide, continuous circles, their motion representing the flow of time itself.
The pressure it emitted was overwhelming, yet strangely familiar.
At that exact moment, a panel materialized in front of Sam.
Ding!
[All of your affinities are slowly improving, and your being is being fueled by them.]
[As a result, the “Dimension of Time” and the way it works is shifting…]
Sam stared at the words, his eyes narrowing slightly as he processed their meaning.
He could feel it.
Something about the dimension truly was changing.
The air felt denser, richer, as if the space itself was responding to his growth.
After a few seconds passed, another panel appeared.
[In the “Dimension of Time”, a day in the real world equals to a week inside.]
Sam barely had time to react before something strange happened.
The word “week” began to flicker.
It turned gray, glitched unnaturally, and distorted as if rewritten by an unseen force.
Then, it transformed.
Ding!
[In the “Dimension of Time”, a day in the real world equals to a month inside.]
“Wow,” Sam said quietly, genuine surprise coloring his voice.
The way time functioned in the dimension had shifted entirely.
And the reason was clear.
He had grown stronger.
As Sam acquired more affinities and increased his overall power, even the systems tied to him adapted.
His previous affinities didn’t remain static.
They grew alongside him.
‘Does that mean my other [Class Skills] might also improve?’ Sam wondered, his thoughts racing as he considered the implications.
‘Maybe not the passive ones, but the active ones…’
Skills like [Blood Verdict] and [Death Cross] came to mind immediately.
If those evolved as well, the difference would be enormous.
For now, though, speculation wouldn’t help him.
Sam shook his head lightly and let out a slow breath.
“I guess that means instead of six days of training,” he said to himself, “I’m going to have around twenty-seven.”
The number alone made his chest tighten slightly.
That was more than four times what he originally expected.
By the time he left this place, there was no doubt he would be far stronger than before.
He briefly wondered if Undyne or Vyxen would notice the change immediately.
They probably already realized he was gone.
From their perspective, he would simply vanish for nearly an entire day.
They would question where he went.
They would worry.
Yet for Sam, twenty-seven full days would pass.
Enough time to sharpen his skills to a frightening degree.
After all, while those twenty-seven days unfolded for him, only around twenty-two hours would pass in the outside world.
At the end of that window, he would have no choice but to leave the [Soul Kingdom] and face another [Colossal Beam].
“=)”
Sam turned his attention back to the primordial clone.
The clone mirrored his expression, a faint grin stretching across its face as well.
Sam nodded once.
“Alright,” he said calmly, “let’s train.”
Before rushing in blindly, Sam forced himself to think carefully.
He needed to prioritize.
Not every skill would benefit equally from focused training.
Some of them were already near their peak, or functioned in ways that didn’t allow much refinement.
[Primordial Barrier].
[Primordial Clone].
[Primordial Wings].
[Determination is Fuel].
[True Primordial Spirits].
[All Hope is Lost Before Him].
[Supernova].
Those would have to wait.
They were powerful, but not where his attention needed to be right now.
That left a smaller, more focused list.
[True Primordial Sword Technique].
[Primordial Barrage].
[Primordial Tendrils].
[Primordial Hellscape].
[Primordial Rush].
[Primordial Lightning].
Six skills.
Six paths to improvement.
Sam included [Primordial Rush] and [Primordial Lightning] deliberately.
They weren’t his strongest abilities, but neglecting them would be a mistake.
Even a small increase in control or efficiency could make a massive difference in real combat.
With that decided, Sam centered himself.
Fwoosh…
He took a deep breath, drawing in the dense air of the dimension.
His eyes flared faintly as primordial energy stirred within him.
His stance lowered, steady and balanced.
“You know,” Sam said, glancing at the clone as it tilted its head slightly, “I have the feeling this might be one of the last moments of peace we get.”
He tightened his grip.
“So let’s make it count.”
“=)”
The clone nodded in response, mirroring his posture perfectly.
And then, everything began at once.
Primordial Barrage: Turret!
Primordial Tendrils!
Primordial Hellscape!
Sam activated all three abilities simultaneously.
The clone did the same.
Bam!
A massive turret made entirely of condensed aura formed above Sam’s head.
At the same time, tendrils erupted from his sword, writhing and coiling with terrifying sharpness.
Crimson flames bloomed in his free hand, radiating destructive heat.
‘I can activate all my skills together,’ Sam realized as power surged through him, ‘but I don’t have enough control to use them properly at the same time.’
That flaw had always been there. He simply hadn’t been able to fix it yet.
‘I’m changing that,’ he thought firmly, ‘I’ll make them stronger.’
With that resolve, Sam stepped forward.
The white space of the [Dimension of Time] filled with clashing energies, roaring power, and the sound of relentless combat.
And just like that, Sam’s true training began.
[The end is near.]
[Let us only worry about ourselves, they are all waiting and watching.]
[For in the end, the only thing that matters is us getting out of this realm alive.]
