Chapter 315: Touching the Antlers, Soul Kingdom Teleportation Crystal
The atmosphere had completely shifted, changing from a battle where death felt inevitable into a strangely calm exchange of words.
The tension that once filled the air had thinned, replaced by something cautious and uncertain, yet no longer openly hostile.
Either way, it did not bother Sam in the slightest.
He had already grown used to rapid changes like this, especially in a place as unstable as the [Soul Realm].
‘At least I didn’t have to use [Supernova], it’s still somewhat hidden, I guess,’ Sam thought as he glanced at the sky one more time.
[I think they can guess what that skill does based on the sheer power though.]
Sam stared at the panel for a few seconds, then let out a quiet sigh.
It was undeniably true.
Even though he never detonated the skill, the sheer pressure and presence of [Supernova] must have been felt across almost the entirety of the [Soul Realm].
Anyone remotely sensitive to aura or power would immediately understand that whatever he summoned was catastrophic in nature.
Which meant that anyone he fought in the future, especially those who witnessed it directly, would instantly classify it as bad news.
Still, they hadn’t seen its effects.
They hadn’t watched it erase everything around it.
So Sam considered that he still retained some form of advantage.
Not a large one, but enough.
‘Plus,’ Sam thought as his gaze briefly landed on Undyne, ‘I guess I can even fight opponents far stronger than I am if I use the right skills…’
The realization wasn’t comforting, but it was enlightening.
This entire battle had proven something important to him.
His raw strength alone wasn’t enough.
But his tools, his affinities, and his abilities allowed him to bridge the gap between himself and monsters far beyond his level.
His [Primordial Sword] being able to injure Undyne was proof of that.
And more than anything, [Death Cross] had been the true deciding factor in this fight.
Without it, this battle would have never shifted in his favor.
“You spoke about a timer,” Undyne said as she slowly approached Sam, even though Vyxen and the other soldiers remained visibly cautious, “How much time is left on it?”
“A little under twenty-four hours,” Sam replied calmly, “I’ll have to enter another [Colossal Beam] before then.”
Fwish!
The moment Undyne stepped close enough, the [Primordial Clone] moved on its own.
Its sword was instantly placed against Undyne’s neck, close enough that even the slightest movement would draw blood.
“=)”
The clone’s grin never wavered.
Undyne, however, didn’t even flinch.
She simply stared at the clone, eyes steady and focused.
“That thing…” she murmured quietly, “It truly is terrifying.”
“I think it’s scarier than I am,” Sam said with a faint grin, “Don’t worry, it’s not violent if it isn’t ordered to be.”
Undyne shifted her gaze from the clone back to Sam.
For a moment, her expression twisted with confusion.
It was as if she was trying to reconcile what she was seeing with what she was feeling.
“To me,” she finally said, voice slow and deliberate, “You’re even scarier than this clone.”
Sam blinked once, surprised.
“Not in terms of appearance,” Undyne continued, “But in the way your aura feels. It feels like you are the one truly in control.”
It was the first time Sam had ever heard something like that.
Usually, whenever he fought alongside his clone, his enemies never survived long enough to analyze anything.
They were either cut down immediately or crushed by overwhelming force.
Hearing such an observation from someone as powerful and experienced as Undyne meant that it held weight.
Perhaps other opponents truly did feel that Sam was the core of it all.
Sam had always believed the clone was the terrifying one.
Its constant grin.
Its unsettling presence.
The way it moved without hesitation or fear.
But maybe that wasn’t the full picture.
Maybe all this time, he was the one frightening them the most.
The clone was just an extension.
A reflection.
It made sense, yet Sam still shook his head.
“As I said,” Sam replied, “I’m not as evil as you might think. I just want to go home and make this all end.”
“Well, you’re the last one,” Undyne said as she shook her head slowly, “And as long as you actually want to help us, it’ll be fine, but…”
She stopped herself mid-sentence.
Undyne seemed to realize something important in that moment.
Threats would be meaningless to Sam.
Warnings would fall on deaf ears.
This was someone who had already proven he was insane enough to kill himself repeatedly if it meant achieving victory.
And though they had just fought a battle to the death, the awkward atmosphere that followed didn’t seem to affect Sam at all.
He remained calm.
Unbothered.
Almost casual.
“By the way,” Sam suddenly said, pointing toward Undyne’s antlers, “What are those?”
“My antlers,” Undyne replied, blinking once, “All of my kind have them. It’s just something our race has.”
“Huh.”
Angels had wings.
Demons had horns.
Celestials had halos.
This was truly a race Sam had never encountered before.
And without thinking too deeply about it, he extended his hand.
The moment his fingers touched Undyne’s antlers, her entire body stiffened.
She shuddered violently, freezing in place as if paralyzed.
“P-Please d-do not touch my antlers,” she mumbled weakly, her face flushing blue as she averted her gaze, “T-they are sensitive…”
“…Alright,” Sam said with a shrug, withdrawing his hand, “Just wanted to test it out.”
Undyne’s and Vyxen’s antlers were noticeably larger than those of the other soldiers.
They burned with blue flames and carried a deeper, more intense aura.
The others only had small particles floating around their antlers, ranging in different colors.
Much like the [Celestials], the shape and aura of their antlers clearly reflected their strength and abilities.
“I think…” Undyne said after taking a deep breath, looking at her daughter and her people, “We can bring him to the kingdom.”
“Are you sure, queen?”
“A male… and the last Primordial at that?”
“We cannot allow it!”
“But…” Vyxen finally spoke, her gaze fixed on Sam, “I trust mother, and it wasn’t like he immediately became violent…”
The soldiers exchanged looks with one another.
After a moment, they sighed.
“Alright, but the others will be surprised.”
“It’ll be fine,” Undyne replied calmly, “Once everything is explained, I’m sure we will prosper. I feel like this will be our last chance.”
The truth was simple. The only way to defeat the [Colossals] and the [King] was for the last Primordial to be involved.
Without him, they would do nothing but live in fear.
Waiting. Hoping they wouldn’t be wiped out one day. So Undyne made her decision.
Even though the [Primordials] had once destroyed their kingdom and slaughtered their people, this one was different.
And if he truly killed a [Colossal], then he was their best hope.
“Take this.”
Undyne summoned a blue-colored crystal from thin air and tossed it toward Sam.
He caught it easily and inspected it.

[Description: Allows to teleport to the entrance of the “Soul Kingdom” immediately after usage.]

“Hah.”
Looks like Sam would go to the kingdom he saw on the [Soul Realm Map] much quicker than expected.
