Chapter 309: The Inhabitants of the Soul Realm, Vyxen Soulless
Sam woke up in the [Primordial Space] like always and looked around.

He blinked a few times as the familiar misty atmosphere settled around him, the swirling darkness and faint lights forming the massive empty world he had come to know far too well.

He let out a long breath, partly annoyed and partly exhausted, because dying had become something so normal it barely fazed him anymore.

Still, the memory of that blue-flamed arrow felt vivid enough that he could almost feel the impact on his skin all over again.

“Any idea what that arrow was,” he asked the other primordials that were looking at him, “I don’t think that was a monster.”

He waited for a moment as several faint glimmers moved in the air, and slowly, the usual panels began appearing around him one by one.

[The inhabitants of the “Soul Realm”]

[I met some of them, they do not like our kind.]

[Perhaps they are simply chasing the monsters?]

Sam stared at the floating text with a blank expression, his mind trying to piece everything together, even though the truth was already becoming obvious.

He understood immediately that it was very likely that other beings, actual people, lived in this realm.

‘As expected,’ Sam thought, ‘That kingdom I saw in the distance was inhabited, and also those other structures I glimpsed before.’

He remembered the stone towers, the strange silhouettes of walls, and the glow of lights far across the horizon of the [Soul Realm Map].

It was too organized to be abandoned, too structured to be a ruin, and too large to be just a monster nest.

Still, the realization brought consequences, because if people truly lived here, then those people must be unimaginably strong.

The [Soul Realm] became more dangerous the deeper one went, and the kingdom he had seen on the map was extremely far from the starting zone.

Meaning the inhabitants must be able to fight off beasts that Sam himself would struggle against, beasts that were capable of vaporizing him if he made one mistake.

Plus, the sheer intensity of that explosion from a single arrow proved that something powerful was definitely out there.

“Well,” Sam groaned, “I guess I’ll see for myself.”

He rubbed the side of his head, feeling a faint throb caused by the sudden death he had just gone through, though the actual pain was already gone.

The primordials responded to his comment with even more panels.

[Do not falter, Sam Walker.]

[Stay… Determined.]

[Watch out for these beings.]

He frowned slightly at the ominous tone, a tone that did not appear often unless something genuinely dangerous was ahead.

“Watch out for wha—”

Before Sam could finish his sentence, the entire [Primordial Space] distorted violently.

The sky twisted like a sheet being pulled apart, the ground rippled as if made of water, and for a moment Sam felt the world folding around him like he was being crushed from every direction.

He lost consciousness instantly.

…

“Mother, I got them!” a girl shouted with excitement somewhere in the realm, her voice bright and proud.

She was holding a bow in her small hands, the entire weapon burning with vibrant blue flames that flickered even though there was no wind.

“I destroyed them all!”

“Good job, dear,” her mom said with a proud smile as she gently pat her daughter’s head, “But that is still not enough.”

“I know,” the girl sighed, letting her bow rest against her shoulder as the blue flames dimmed slightly, “You and the others are all so strong…”

“We have to be ready for the danger, no matter what it is—”

“Yeah, yeah,” the girl interrupted with a roll of her eyes, clearly used to the speech, “Whether it is the [Colossals], the [King] or…”

She stopped right before finishing the sentence.

Her expression darkened quickly, as if she had remembered something unpleasant.

Her mother noticed it instantly and placed a soft hand on her daughter’s shoulder in reassurance.

“We have not seen any of them for a while,” the woman said gently, “We will be fine for now. I would much prefer if this peace continued.”

“Haha, if we were not strong enough, the monsters of this realm would have devoured us anyway.”

The girl laughed a little, but it was clear she still felt uneasy about whatever she had been about to mention.

Surrounding the mother and daughter was a full group of individuals who resembled them closely, all of them women, all of them equipped to fight.

They carried weapons created from glowing aura, and each of them possessed a commanding energy that told the world they were not prey.

“Queen,” one of the toughest looking ones said as she knelt before the mother, “I believe the young lady’s training session is over. She proved herself.”

The mother nodded slowly, her expression softening a little as she looked toward her daughter.

“Indeed,” she said, “We shall prepare a feast for this occasion. Nothing bad happened.”

“The young lady is growing stronger than many of us,” the kneeling woman added, “She truly is the most talented.”

The girl grinned proudly, her chest puffing out as she felt her confidence returning.

But right at that moment…

BOOM!

A sudden explosion erupted from the distant valley where they had slain all the monsters, shaking the ground beneath their feet.

A crimson aura spread outward like a ripple of fire.

“Huh?”

The girl stepped back in surprise, her ear-like antlers twitching sharply.

“Back away!” the queen shouted.

She summoned a long spear from her aura and immediately took a defensive stance, her eyes locked onto the source of the crimson flare.

The other women followed her command instantly, surrounding the girl with practiced precision and forming a protective circle around her.

And from that rising aura… a single figure slowly stood up.

Ding!

[“Determination is Fuel” has activated.]

…

Sam got up from the ground as his consciousness returned.

His body had been completely disintegrated earlier, but [Determination is Fuel] rebuilt him from nothing the moment his will surged again, stitching his existence back together out of sheer refusal to stay dead.

He gasped slightly as the crimson aura around him receded, his body stabilizing fully as he regained his balance.

Aura flared from him automatically, reacting to the tension that filled the air like static electricity.

[You have a REALLY bad feeling about this.]

Sam glared at the panel, and his eyes narrowed.

He looked around, and just as he expected, every single monster he had been fighting earlier had been vaporized completely.

Not even ashes remained.

‘My experience and training,’ Sam thought with clenched teeth, ‘Well, at least that means I still have time for the [Hatred Bar].’

Right then, he felt a surge of aura ahead of him.

He slowly turned toward it.

And that was when he saw them.

A group of figures stood at the edge of the burned valley, all of them humanoid, but definitely not human or any race he had encountered before.

‘Huh?’

He examined them silently, his gaze moving over the details of their bodies.

They all had the form of women, every single one of them, and sprouting from their heads were antlers of different shapes and colors, glowing faintly like carved gemstones.

They were standing in clear combat stances, their weapons drawn, their auras flaring with hostility and caution.

They stared at Sam like he was a threat capable of ending all of them.

“M-Mother, it is a male…” the young girl whispered nervously behind the queen, “But…”

The queen raised a hand to silence her daughter immediately, her eyes locked on Sam while everyone around her tightened their formation.

Their faces showed caution.

But beneath that caution… was fear.

[Slaughter them =)]

Sam did not react outwardly, but he felt something heavy settle in his chest.

Usually, he ignored such comments or even found them stupidly funny, since [Hell-Mode Analysis] always said excessive violent things.

But this time… even he could feel it.

Something in his soul told him to be ready.

Something told him that if he made one wrong move, he would die again in an instant.

A new panel appeared.

[Description: ???]

[Hell-Mode Analysis: This analysis is useless, we need to kill them.]

—

Sam’s stomach dropped slightly.

He could not see their information at all. Nothing.

That only happened if the gap between him and the target was so massive that the system itself could not measure it.

Or if the target was so overwhelmingly strong that even his primordial affinity could not force through their status.

“What… are you?”

“This cannot be…”

“Holy hell, no way.”

Sam heard their whispers, saw the confusion and fear crossing their faces, and he realized they were staring at him like he was something impossible.

He tried inspecting each of their panels manually one by one.

And one by one, they all came back blank. Every single one except for one.

The girl hiding behind her mother, the one with the blue-flame bow, the one who had killed him.

Her panel appeared clearly.
