Chapter 249: Two Level Ups Instantly? Primordial Prediction!
As the battle raged on, it became painfully clear that Sam was overtaking everything that came at him.

Not a single monster managed to land a hit.

His spirits tore through the enemy lines like a storm, shredding anything that dared to come close.

Even when dozens of them were torn apart, Sam barely slowed down.

He simply sprinted through the chaos, touching the newly-formed spirits that appeared before him and recruiting them in an instant.

The process was seamless—Stark’s command connected everything immediately, and before long, Sam’s army had grown once more.

Each level 100 spirit he recruited carried incredible power, rivaling the corrupted monsters that filled the battlefield, but with an added boost from his own energy.

One of his spirits alone could handle up to five monsters before it fell.

And as if that wasn’t enough—

Fwish!

Dozens of black tendrils erupted from Sam’s sword, writhing through the air and plunging into the corpses of the fallen.

Each tendril sank deep, pulling out the glowing cores of the monsters and feeding them directly into the blade.

With every absorbed core, Sam felt his strength rise.

A surge of energy coursed through his veins, restoring his power and making him just a bit stronger than before.

Minutes passed, and the rhythm of battle didn’t falter.

Slash! Boom!

Then—

Ding!

[Congratulations to Sam Walker for leveling up to Level 6 of the Forsaken Rank!]

Sam grinned when he saw the notification flicker in front of him.

But there was no time to stop.

His sword was already cutting through another wave of monsters before the sound faded.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

‘MORE!’

Primordial Barrage: Machine Gun!

A massive ethereal machine gun materialized above his head, the barrels spinning with a deafening hum.

He charged it for three seconds, the weapon gathering condensed energy, and then unleashed it all in a relentless storm.

Hundreds of glowing bullets sprayed across the battlefield, piercing everything in sight.

Monsters exploded into chunks. Cores shattered in bursts of light.

Each fallen enemy fed him again, the tendrils eagerly sucking in their power.

Ding!

[Congratulations to Sam Walker for leveling up to Level 7 of the Forsaken Rank!]

His progress was insane.

He was gaining more levels now than he could have if he’d grinded for days.

The feeling of growth was intoxicating. But it didn’t last long.

Snap!

The [Darkness Monarch] lifted one of its enormous hands and snapped its fingers.

A shockwave burst outward, tearing through the entire [Sixth Zone].

In an instant, every monster froze in place.

Even Sam’s spirits halted mid-motion, their forms trembling as if shackled by some invisible power.

Only the [Judge Monarch] resisted.

Sam immediately recalled him to his side.

“This isn’t going to work,” the [Judge Monarch] muttered, shaking his head.

The countless eyes covering his body blinked all at once.

“No… I shall do it myself.”

The moment he said it, he snapped his fingers again.

The earth rumbled, and the air thickened with a crushing weight.

Sam’s instincts screamed.

[You have a bad feeling about this.]

The [Darkness Monarch] lowered his colossal form, his body looming like a living shadow.

The two massive eyes on his head fixed directly on Sam, peering not at his body—but at his soul.

“This is truly fascinating,” the Monarch said slowly, “Such resilience. Such depth. Yes… very good.”

Sam didn’t respond.

He adjusted his grip on his sword and took a low stance, ready for whatever came next.

The Monarch’s smile widened.

“But you remember your mission, don’t you?”

“…?”

Sam frowned.

He guessed the Monarch was referring to the [Sixth Mission]: to reach the end of the [Sixth Zone].

He’d been tearing through everything here without much resistance, so he was certain he could have completed it easily.

Even if there had been more environmental traps, more of those twisted tendrils waiting to ambush him, he would’ve handled them all.

But now… this was different.

With the [Darkness Monarch] personally taking the field, the mission had become something else entirely.

Anyone else would’ve died long ago.

The tendrils alone could kill in seconds, and with the corrupted monsters swarming in the dark, survival here was nearly impossible.

Even with his strength, Sam could feel it—

Something was wrong. The air itself felt heavier, like it was dragging him down.

And that instinct, that cold chill at the back of his neck, told him death wasn’t far.

So he didn’t hesitate. He activated his newest ability.

Primordial Prediction!

—

[Description: Focus your aura into your eyes to predict the next five moves of your opponent. Can only be used once per minute.]

—

Sam’s eyes shifted from their normal powerful glow to a deep, burning crimson.

He stared directly into the Monarch’s gaze, locking onto every detail of that shifting darkness.

‘I need to figure out what “move” means,’ he thought quickly, ‘Does it mean a single attack? An action? Or just a tiny movement?’

The answer came sooner than he expected.

A sudden flash filled his mind.

A vision burst into his consciousness, sharp and vivid, as though he were living through it.

It wasn’t reality, it was a glimpse of what was about to happen.

He saw tendrils erupting from the ground, dozens of them, wrapping around every spirit he had.

Then they lunged for him, coiling tightly around his arms and legs, forcing him to drop his sword.

His clone, too, was caught—dragged underground and silenced.

‘Holy shit…’

Sam’s heart pounded. Then the vision ended.

Time snapped back to normal. Not even a second had passed in the real world.

While he’d been inside that prediction, the flow of time had stopped completely.

He could see it all clearly, process every detail, and return before even a blink.

And the very next instant—

He dashed forward.

Fwish! BOOM!

The ground behind him exploded.

Tendrils shot out in the exact same spot where he’d just been standing.

‘Hah…’ he thought, exhaling sharply, ‘I would’ve been dead.’

He turned his head just enough to see the chaos behind him.

Every single spirit and monster still present was being wrapped by those tendrils and yanked underground.

He didn’t waste time. He sprinted toward his primordial clone, his sword glowing with black light.

Slash!

The blade tore through the tendrils binding the clone, severing them in one clean strike.

Then he turned to the [Judge Monarch] and did the same.

Unfortunately, he was only able to save those two.

All the others, spirits, monsters, everything, were dragged beneath the earth.

The [Darkness Monarch] laughed, his voice echoing through the zone like thunder.

“Amazing,” he said, eyes glittering, “You saw that coming? Hahaha! How rare!”

Sam didn’t answer.

He just narrowed his crimson eyes, readying himself for whatever would come next.

[Predictions Left: 4.]

‘So that counted as a move,’ he realized.

Each vision would show him one of the Monarch’s next five actions.

It didn’t matter how powerful the enemy was—if he could see their next steps before they happened, he could always stay one move ahead.

The skill was overpowered. But even so, he couldn’t drop his guard.

He needed to be ready for the next vision at any second.

After all, against an opponent like this, even a single mistake meant death.

The Monarch’s grin widened.

“Thank you for the food,” he said, his voice dripping with amusement, “I’m even stronger now.”

Sam sighed through his teeth.

‘Of course you are…’

The ground trembled again, darker tendrils beginning to rise once more around the Monarch’s towering form.
