Chapter 248: Primordial’s Determination, Corrupted Monsters VS True Primordial Spirits
As Sam looked at his own determination, his eyes widened in surprise.

The aura of his will had grown so vast that it expanded far beyond his body, stretching outward for several meters in every direction.

It swirled around him like a living force, its crimson light thick and unwavering, pulsing with power that refused to die.

If anyone else could have seen it, they would have understood that this was what determination looked like when taken to its absolute peak.

And Sam could see it clearly.

He glanced at the towering [Darkness Monarch] before him, and as his gaze shifted between their auras, the difference was obvious.

The monarch’s determination was immense, a vast ocean of shadow, but compared to Sam’s—it was nothing more than a flicker.

Sam’s determination dwarfed it entirely.

Not because the monarch was weak.

It was simply that Sam’s will as an awakener was something that could never truly end.

It was endless.

It could grow infinitely, pushing past every limit as long as Sam himself refused to stop.

Even now, his resolve was already greater than it had ever been before, yet he could feel that it could still rise higher.

[Status: Proceed.]

The message flashed in front of him.

Sam frowned slightly.

‘So that’s my current state… interesting.’

A thought crossed his mind.

‘If my determination ever falters, will this aura weaken over time?’

If that were true, it would be the perfect indicator of how much determination he had left before collapsing.

But for now, he had no way to confirm it.

He would have to see whether the aura around him dimmed when his will weakened—or if it would twist or shatter when he reached his limit.

‘Hm.’

He pushed the thought aside and focused on the second class skill he had activated: [Blood Verdict].

A golden light flickered within his eyes.

He stared directly at the colossal being ahead of him, who stood still with hundreds of eyes staring back.

Fwish!

[Do you wish to judge the “Darkness Monarch”?]

Sam didn’t hesitate.

“Yes.”

Ding!

[He is guilty.]

[Crime: Being too annoying.]

“Hm.”

He gave a faint smile, almost amused by the verdict.

Meanwhile, high above, the monarch’s massive head tilted downward.

A glowing panel appeared before his eyes.

[You are being judged by the Primordial.]

The monarch’s tendrils twitched slightly.

“Do you seriously believe this is enough?”

One of the tendrils extended from his forehead and sliced through the panel, shattering it instantly.

Sam didn’t react.

He hadn’t expected much from the skill anyway.

He remembered how it worked during his battle with the [Judge Monarch]—once the [Verdict Bar] had filled, the enemy was restrained by the [Chains of Judgment].

That had allowed Sam to kill him easily.

But the [Darkness Monarch] was different.

Would something that massive even be affected by the same rule?

The [Verdict Bar] only filled when Sam made his opponent bleed… but could a creature made of tendrils even bleed?

‘It doesn’t matter,’ he thought as he felt his pulse steady.

[It doesn’t matter, just keep going.]

“Yeah.”

He tightened his grip on his primordial sword.

It hummed with energy, reacting to his determination.

Even if this opponent towered hundreds of times over him, even if the sky itself trembled beneath its weight, Sam didn’t care.

He would still fight.

He would still kill him.

And…

“I am not too fond of death battles,” the monarch said calmly, his tone making the ground itself vibrate. “So… let us end this quickly.”

Before Sam could react, a warning appeared in front of his eyes.

[You have a bad feeling about this.]

‘Mid-battle?’ Sam narrowed his eyes. ‘Damn it.’

He didn’t waste a second.

His hand moved, and the [Primordial Clone] appeared beside him, aura flaring in sync with his own.

Sam glanced at it with [Determination Intuition] still active.

There was no crimson glow around the clone, no trace of independent determination.

‘Right. Its determination is taken from mine.’

He gave a short nod.

“You invited that thing, huh?”

The monarch’s deep laughter shook the earth, each rumble echoing like thunder.

And then—

Fwish!

The monarch’s gigantic hand moved.

He snapped his fingers.

A thunderous shockwave erupted from the motion, spreading across the entire [Sixth Zone] in an instant.

The ground cracked, the air screamed, and the world itself seemed to ripple.

Sam’s instincts went on high alert.

He heard it almost immediately—a rising chorus of noises, hundreds of distinct sounds all rushing toward him at once.

‘Wait a minute…’ His eyes widened. ‘You…’

“Have fun,” the monarch said, his voice rumbling with cruel amusement. “I’ll see how long you can last… and perhaps I’ll finish the job myself when you least expect it.”

Sam ignored him.

He focused entirely on the incoming noise.

It was chaos—a storm of growls, screeches, and heavy footsteps echoing across the land.

It sounded like an army.

He could feel the ground trembling beneath the sheer number of things moving toward him.

But in the darkness of the [Sixth Zone], he couldn’t see them clearly.

Not yet.

Aura Radar.

He sent a crimson pulse of energy rippling outward.

The wave spread through the shadows, illuminating the surroundings in a red glow that only he could see.

And then—

‘Holy shit.’

He took a step back.

All around him, hundreds upon hundreds of monsters appeared on his radar.

They surrounded him completely, encircling him from every direction.

Their faint eyes gleamed in the dark, unmoving, as if waiting for their master’s order.

“Well then,” the monarch said, pointing a massive tendril-like finger toward Sam.

The white aura in his eyes flared like two suns.

“Kill the Primordial.”

The instant he spoke, the horde moved.

Every single monster lunged forward at once, rushing toward Sam in a blur of teeth, claws, and distorted flesh.

Sam’s heartbeat steadied. He raised his sword.

‘You’re not the only one with an army,’ he thought.

The [Judge Monarch] was already beside him, its four arms moving in perfect synchronization.

It slammed its gauntlet into the skull of a charging monster, shattering it in a single hit.

Another arm swung the scale, destroying the head of another monster.

But Sam wasn’t finished. He had many more spirits.

[=)]

True Primordial Spirit!

He summoned them all.

The ground erupted with light as ninety-nine spirits appeared around him, forming a loose circle of crimson and shadow.

In an instant, an army stood at his side, facing the oncoming wave of enemies.

The only problem… was power.

Each of his spirits was level 95 since hey came from the [Fifth Zone].

The monsters here… were all level 100.

—

[Corrupted Ghoul][Level: 100]

—

[Doom Bringer (Boss)][Level: 100]

—

[Tendrils Mage (Boss)][Level: 100]

—

And that was only what Sam could immediately identify.

There were hundreds of monsters of all shapes and kinds, along with several bosses mixed among them.

The first wave crashed against his summoned army.

The spirits retaliated at once, unleashing a blinding storm of aura and power.

Even though the monsters had a five-level advantage, a difference that would normally be impossible to overcome, Sam’s spirits weren’t normal.

They were fueled by his energy, by his affinities, and by his will.

They fought with power that matched the monsters of the [Sixth Zone] blow for blow.

Sam watched as one of his [Mist Reapers] cut through a [Corrupted Wolf], only to be cleaved apart moments later by the [Doom Bringer].

Nearby, his [Judgment Guardian], a towering spirit with golden light blazing from its eyes, slammed its hands into the ground.

A burst of yellow energy erupted outward, disintegrating a cluster of enemies.

But the [Tendrils Mage] reacted fast.

It raised its warped arms, and dark tendrils shot forward, tearing the [Judgment Guardian] apart in seconds.

The battle was chaos.

Everywhere Sam looked, monsters and spirits clashed in an endless storm of destruction.

Explosions of energy, bursts of light, and waves of aura shook the land.

The entire zone had become a warzone.

Through it all, one spirit stood above the rest.

The [Judge Monarch].

It moved with terrifying precision, using its four arms to slaughter anything in reach.

It smashed monsters with its gauntlet, cut them apart with its sword, impaled them with its spear, and obliterated them with its hammer.

Every attack created shockwaves that blew nearby monsters away.

“Haha!”

The [Darkness Monarch]’s laughter echoed across the battlefield.

“Amazing! No wonder the [Colossals] and [King] enjoy watching you fight!”

Sam didn’t respond.

His expression stayed hard and focused as he closed in on one of the larger monsters, the [Doom Bringer] wielding two massive blades.

He swung.

Slash!

Sparks burst as the creature blocked his strike, countering with a cross slash that forced Sam backward.

The force of the attack made the ground split beneath them.

‘You think you’ve got the advantage because of numbers,’ Sam thought, a grin forming on his face, ‘but that won’t last long.’

Because each time one of his spirits, or he himself killed, new spirit appeared above the fallen body.

A spirit born from the monster’s death. Sam reached out his hand toward one of them.

Fwish! Ding!

—

[You have recruited: “Corruption Ghoul”]

[You have recruited: “Bones of Darkness”]

[You have recruited: “Wailing Figure”]

—

Even as he lost spirits, he gained more.

The battlefield became a cycle of death and rebirth.

Every time a monster fell, Sam’s army grew stronger.

Every time one of his allies was destroyed, another rose to take its place.

The numbers shifted slowly but surely.

What had begun as thousands of monsters against one man, his clone, and his spirits… was beginning to even out.

Sam’s determination blazed brighter with every strike.

The world trembled beneath their clash.

And even though the odds were still impossible, Sam’s expression didn’t waver.

He was not fighting to survive. He was fighting to win.

And he wasn’t going to stop until the [Darkness Monarch] himself fell.
