Chapter 244: Prophecy Promise, One Final Push in the Fifth Zone
Tomorrow arrived faster than expected after taking a break.

The quiet glow of morning filled the mansion’s halls as he moved about the kitchen, preparing breakfast for himself and the two girls.

It was nothing complicated, just an omelet and bacon on the side, but he preferred it simple.

By the time the food was ready, both Seraphine and Belle had already made their way downstairs.

“Wow, you were lying when you said your cooking was average,” Belle said, eyes sparkling as she took a bite. “I could eat this forever!”

“I do agree that it is quite tasty,” Seraphine added with her usual gentle smile.

Sam tilted his head, a faint look of confusion flickering across his face.

He really didn’t understand what they found so amazing about it — it was just an omelet.

Still, he didn’t comment further.

Instead, he took his seat, quietly eating alongside them while his thoughts drifted elsewhere.

The peace of this morning felt distant from what awaited him outside.

When they finished eating, Sam pushed his plate aside and stood up.

“I’ll be leaving,” he said simply, his tone even. “If I don’t come back, you can take the mansion and do whatever you want with it.”

He said it as if he were mentioning something trivial, but the silence that followed carried weight.

Seraphine’s smile faded slightly, and Belle looked up from her plate, blinking.

Sam had no intention of dying, of course.

He would fight until the end — that was who he was.

As long as his determination held, he would claw through anything in his path.

But still, the deeper he went, the thinner the margin for survival became.

“Don’t say that,” Seraphine murmured, looking down. “I’m sure… you’ll get there eventually.”

“Yeah,” Belle nodded, her tone a mix of stubborn confidence and awkward encouragement. “You’re… huh… that thing!”

Sam raised a brow, an amused grin forming on his face.

“You can say the word. I don’t think anybody’s listening.”

He paused for a moment before continuing, “But that reminds me — why do some people seem to know more about the Primordials than I do?”

Both girls froze at that question.

Their eyes met, and for a second, neither of them spoke.

Then Belle broke the silence, her voice slightly hesitant.

“You… don’t know much about the Primordials?”

Sam shrugged. “I’m just human. There are a lot of things I don’t know.”

Seraphine’s expression softened. “Then I guess you don’t know about the prophecy, either — or what the Primordials actually did?”

“Nope,” Sam replied without hesitation.

It wasn’t the first time he had heard that word — “prophecy.”

He remembered it being mentioned a few times back in the [Lower Realm], always with a sense of mystery or quiet dread.

Apparently, it was tied to why so many people hated the Primordials, why they were hunted across ages.

And since he was the last one left, that made him the final target.

“Hm…” Seraphine tapped her chin thoughtfully. “Alright. When we all come back here, we’ll tell you about it.”

Her tone was calm but reassuring.

Belle, on the other hand, stretched and grinned. “We’ll be heading to the [Land of Judgment]. I’m level five of the Eternal Rank now, so I feel like I should be able to do it!”

“Level six here,” Seraphine said with a playful smirk. “But it’s not a competition. I’ll try to clear the [Fifth Mission] too.”

Sam’s expression darkened slightly.

“Maybe you should wait,” he said. “If you reach level ten of the Eternal Rank, you’d be almost guaranteed to clear it.”

Seraphine gave a soft laugh. “True, but… I don’t feel like waiting.”

“Me neither,” Belle chimed in with a grin.

Sam exhaled through his nose, the faintest smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

“Alright,” he said. “I’ll be heading to the [Sixth Mission] myself. See you later… if we survive.”

“We will,” Belle said confidently, bumping her shoulder against his. “So you better come back — I want more of your cooking.”

“I’ll try my best,” Seraphine said with quiet conviction.

Belle reached into her inventory and pulled out the [Kingdom Teleporter].

“I can take us straight to the main square,” she offered.

Seraphine nodded and stepped closer.

Sam, however, simply shook his head.

“I’ll take another route,” he said. “I need to use [Primordial Rush].”

They didn’t question it.

A moment later, Belle activated the item.

A burst of light surrounded them, and their bodies began to dissolve into shimmering particles.

Within seconds, they vanished from sight, leaving the mansion empty once more.

Sam stood there in silence, gazing at the faint traces of light still lingering in the air.

Then his eyes dropped to his hands.

‘Prophecy, huh.’

The word echoed faintly in his mind.

He would eventually learn what it meant, Seraphine and Belle promised to tell him once they returned.

But there was a quiet unease twisting in his chest.

[You have a bad feeling about this.]

‘Huh.’

He frowned slightly.

Was that feeling about himself, or… about them?

He couldn’t tell. But if he had to choose, he would rather it be him.

The girls were strong, strong enough to overcome the [Land of Judgment] if they played their cards right.

Still, he couldn’t ignore the creeping thought that something might go wrong.

‘If they’re at levels five and six of the Eternal Rank, that means they’re getting close to the final rank,’ he thought.

That realization made him pause.

It probably meant that the average level to clear the [Land of Judgment] was around level five, while the [Sixth Mission] would push one to the peak of the same rank.

Their advancement task would likely be tied to that mission too

And after that, the seventh mission would lead to the true end, the highest rank, and whatever final challenge awaited beyond.

As for Sam… He was still only in the Forsaken Rank.

The road ahead was long.

With a deep breath, he activated [Primordial Rush].

His body flickered into the ground, becoming a streak of darkness that shot through the soil like liquid shadow.

He moved fast, faster than wind.

Within minutes, he was already at the kingdom’s gates.

The guards glanced up as his figure blurred past them, but by the time they blinked, he was gone.

The barren wilderness stretched before him.

Another half hour passed, and he reached the [Fifth Zone] again — the same place he had fought through yesterday.

The air was thick, humming faintly with energy.

The monsters had respawned.

Perfect.

‘Time to get to level five first,’ Sam thought, gripping his sword tightly. ‘Going into the sixth zone before that would be suicide.’

The [Fifth Barrier] loomed faintly in the distance, pulsing with deep crimson light.

He could see the distorted silhouettes of countless monsters crawling near it, drawn to its power.

And that was exactly what he wanted.

That area had the highest monster density in the zone.

If he wanted fast progression, that was where he needed to be.

He pulled out his [Primordial Sword], the black blade flickering with energy, and rolled his shoulders once.

‘No need to summon the [True Primordial Spirits] yet,’ he decided.

Then, without hesitation, he rushed forward.
