Chapter 239: Buying a Mansion in the Forsaken Kingdom, The Primordial Space
Sam walked through the upper districts of the [Forsaken Kingdom], where the air itself felt heavier with wealth and power.

The streets here were wider, cleaner, and quieter, the kind of place where only those who had already proven themselves could afford to live.

Each mansion he passed was marked by faint blue runes on their gates, identifying the owners as individuals who had cleared at least the [Fourth Mission].

These were the strongest of the strong, the ones who had survived long enough to reach luxury.

And yet, not a single one of them could compare to him.

Sam had surpassed them all.

But at least now, he wouldn’t stand out.

He could live quietly, away from curious eyes or desperate challengers trying to prove something.

He kept walking, ignoring the stares of a few who recognized him as one of the newer high-rankers.

He wasn’t here to socialize.

He wanted peace, and for that, he needed a place far from everyone else.

The further he went, the quieter the roads became, until even the echoes of footsteps faded.

Only empty mansions lined the street now, all of them grand, flawless, and untouched.

‘Perfect.’

He stopped before one that caught his attention—a sleek black mansion with crystalline windows and silver runes glowing faintly on the pillars.

When he placed his hand on the gate, a faint shimmer appeared.

—

[Luxurious Mansion]

[Price: 2,000,000 Forsaken Coins.]

[You will not be able to enter unless you buy this home. Once purchased, it will remain bound to your soul until sold back.]

—

‘Nice.’

Without a second thought, Sam confirmed the purchase.

Ding!

[Are you sure you wish to buy—]

“Yes,” he said before the sentence even finished.

Another ding followed.

[You have bought “Luxurious Mansion” for 2,000,000 Forsaken Coins.]

A faint gold aura wrapped around his arm and then flowed into the gate.

Click!

The locks disengaged.

The door recognized him as its new master.

[Owner: Sam Walker]

It was satisfying to see his own name appear.

No one here would ever connect “Sam Walker” with the “Primordial,” so this level of privacy was enough.

He pushed the doors open and stepped inside.

The air inside the mansion was fresh and clean, carrying a faint scent of something soothing, lavender maybe, or mana-infused herbs.

The halls were wide, with tall windows that stretched to the ceiling, and light shimmered across polished black marble.

Sam explored slowly, taking everything in.

It had multiple bedrooms, a massive dining area, a training room, and even a balcony that overlooked the floating layers of the [Forsaken Kingdom].

Everything screamed luxury, but most of the rooms were bare.

‘Figures,’ Sam thought.

He’d need to buy furniture through the [Forsaken Shop], but that wasn’t an issue.

With the fortune he had, he could buy this entire block if he wanted.

Still, he didn’t care much for luxury.

This mansion wasn’t a trophy. It was simply a place to rest.

‘Well, I guess I did tell Seraphine and Belle I’d tell them if I ever bought a mansion.’

They had half-joked about moving in with him if he ever did.

It wasn’t like Sam would refuse.

It would make things easier anyway, and he could always make them pay rent if needed.

[How greedy…]

“I like money,” Sam muttered under his breath, smirking. “But wait, you’re my subconscious, so—”

[Let us proceed forward.]

“Heh.”

After checking every room and taking a short look at the open terrace, Sam finally let himself relax.

He had been in constant battles, challenges, and near-death experiences for far too long.

This silence almost felt unreal.

Still, he didn’t know where Belle or Seraphine were.

They were probably busy grinding, trying to complete their own missions.

The [Land of Judgment] scaled difficulty based on guilt, and both of them had clean consciences, or at least Sam hoped they did.

If they weren’t guilty, they’d be fine.

But if the [Judgment Towers] ever marked them as guilty, then the difficulty would rise to something no one could survive.

For now, though, Sam didn’t plan to go anywhere.

He needed to rest, just for a while.

He went upstairs, to the [Master Bedroom].

It was the largest room in the mansion, but just like the rest, it was empty.

The only decoration was a single painting on the wall.

It depicted a massive eye with a dark pupil, and no matter where Sam moved, it seemed to follow him.

He stood still, staring at it for a few seconds.

Then his expression hardened.

“…Nope.”

Slash!

His sword flared to life, slicing the painting cleanly in two.

The halves slid down the wall and hit the ground with a dull thud.

To Sam, anything that felt remotely unnatural or eerie had no place near him.

He wanted peace, not creepy eyes staring at him in his own bedroom.

With that done, he opened his [Forsaken Shop].

The interface expanded in front of him, revealing countless categories: furniture, materials, artifacts, decorations, weapons, scrolls, and even pets.

It felt like walking into an infinite mall.

He scrolled until one particular item caught his attention.

—

[Master Bed]

[Price: 100,000 Forsaken Coins]

[Description: One of the most comfortable beds in the realm. Grants deep rest and instant sleep, restoring the mind and body completely.]

—

‘Perfect,’ he thought.

It was expensive, but worth it.

He skimmed through hundreds of other beds, cheap ones, enchanted ones, floating ones, but this one had everything.

It even showed a rotating image of itself, large enough for a dozen people.

‘Whoever made this knew exactly what they were doing.’

He didn’t want to admit it, but deep down, he suspected all of these creations came from the same being, the [King].

The one who had designed everything.

The one who kept toying with him.

Ding!

[You have bought “Master Bed.”]

As soon as the message appeared, a faint golden outline formed in the center of the room.

A second later, the bed materialized—massive, soft, and glowing faintly with mana.

Sam didn’t even bother adjusting it.

He simply collapsed onto it.

‘Damn…’ he thought as his eyes grew heavy.

‘The description didn’t lie…’

He was asleep within ten seconds.

When he opened his eyes again, the world around him was dark.

He recognized it immediately, the dream space.

A vast void where nothing existed except for countless pairs of glowing eyes watching him.

Thousands of them. They didn’t blink or move.

Sam folded his arms and stared back.

He never actually felt scared of these things, more familiar than anything.

But then panels began appearing in front of him, each one glowing with a different color, each one carrying a voice.

[You cannot struggle against such beings, True Primordial.]

[If you do, then you stand no chance against those guarding the final realm.]

[Don’t give up!]

Different voices. Different primordials.

Each message came from one of them.

[But we know you are too stubborn to listen, as any primordial is.]

Sam tilted his head, unimpressed.

He’d heard enough of these warnings before.

“Why did you all get killed?” he asked suddenly.

The moment the words left his mouth, the void changed.

Every single eye flared at once.

A wave of pure pressure filled the air, enough to make his chest tighten and his vision distort.

For a moment, it felt like he could actually die here.

[We cannot say that.]

“Why?”

[Because it is not the right time.]

[We have all failed. Your chances to succeed are minimal at best. We wish to not say too much.]

Sam narrowed his eyes.

“So even you, with all your ‘Stay Determined’ speeches, don’t believe in me?”

[Yes.]

[But do not fret.]

[The more of us that died, the more we appeared in the spaces of the other primordials.]

[We told them the same thing: there was no chance to defeat the “King.”]

[And one by one, the spaces filled with the fallen.]

[This is the final “Primordial Space.”]

[If you die, then it will truly be over for all of us.]

Sam frowned.

So when a primordial died, their essence didn’t disappear.

It joined the space of another primordial, like a gathering of the dead.

Each failure added another set of eyes to this void.

And now that he was the last, all of them had gathered here.

“You guys are not helping, by the way,” Sam muttered.

[We can’t do much more.]

“Information would be useful.”

[Not allowed to.]

“Not allowed by who?”

[…]

Silence. No one responded after that.

No matter what Sam said, the void remained quiet, their eyes unblinking.

‘Damn.’

He sighed.

Moments later, the void rippled, the sign that the dream was ending.

As he faded from the space, one last message appeared before him.

[Do not falter, Sam Walker.]

He rolled his eyes.

“Whatever.”

[Stay…]

“…Determined. Yeah, yeah,” he muttered.

Then everything went white.

When he opened his eyes again, he was back in his room, lying on the new bed, the faint hum of mana in the walls reminding him that this was reality again.

The mansion was quiet. The air was still.

And Sam simply lay there for a moment, staring at the ceiling.

He didn’t know what would come next.

But he knew one thing for certain—he wasn’t stopping.
