Chapter 235: Full Verdict Bar, The Chains of Judgment
Fwish! SMASH!

The [Judge Monarch] closed the distance between itself and Sam in an instant.

It moved like a blur, all four of its arms swinging at once, each carrying a scale meant to crush, shatter, and overwhelm.

But—

Bam! Bam! Bam!

The blows connected.

Yet the one struck wasn’t Sam. It was the clone.

Since the [Primordial Clone] had already died once and been brought back, its cooldowns had reset completely.

That meant its [Primordial Barrier] had returned as well, shimmering faintly around its body like a translucent armor of cosmic glass.

‘Do everything in your power to protect me from the scales.’

The command left Sam’s thoughts and reached the clone instantly, and the duplicate obeyed without hesitation, intercepting the incoming barrage.

“It seems that you still have a few tricks up your sleeve,” the monarch grinned, voice echoing from all three sides of its twisted face, “But so do we.”

They stepped back slightly, all four arms drawing inward, pulling the scales close together.

Then, with a single unified motion, they slammed all four into one another.

The impact released a violent shockwave that rattled the already-cracked arena.

The ground beneath them splintered further, chunks breaking away into the flaming abyss surrounding the small platform.

And above—

A faint hum began to grow louder.

Judgment Beam!

Sam’s eyes shot upward.

The colossal golden scale hovering high above was charging again, gathering destructive light that burned like divine wrath.

‘Hell no.’

BOOM!

A radiant beam tore downward, striking where he stood.

Sam leapt forward just in time, his boots slamming into the ground as a blinding explosion devoured the spot behind him.

The impact obliterated another section of the arena, shrinking it even further.

“We’ll keep sending those beams until one of them hits you,” the monarch taunted, rushing forward before Sam could even catch his breath, “You are outmatched.”

They swung their arms again, the scales cutting through the air like massive blades.

But this time, Sam met them head-on.

He raised his sword, clashing against the impact.

Steel screamed against metal as the force shook his arms.

“I am getting… so goddamn tired of the likes of you…”

His eyes burned, voice sharp with fury.

“You do everything in your power… to ANNOY me!”

The monarchs laughed in unison, their voices overlapping.

“Looks like he’s angry.”

“Oh no, how terrifying~”

“Just join your little ‘family,’ and we’ll leave you alone.”

Fwish!

Another beam began to gather above, stronger than the last, its glow swallowing the entire battlefield.

Sam saw it coming and tried to retreat, but the instant he moved back, the monarch’s arms swung.

“You’re not getting away.”

BOOM!

The beam fired.

At the same time, the monarch’s four scales came crashing down, merging their attacks into one killing blow.

“IT’S… OVER!”

Sam’s instincts screamed.

If he blocked the monarch’s attack, the beam would vaporize him.

If he dodged the beam, the monarch’s strikes would tear him apart.

It was a perfect trap, a move designed to ensure death no matter the choice.

But Sam still had an ally, didn’t he?

As the scales fell toward him, Sam suddenly ducked low, trusting his timing completely.

And in that instant—

BAM!

The [Primordial Clone] appeared out of nowhere, drop-kicking the monarch square in the chest.

The impact sent the towering creature skidding backward, its arms digging into the cracking stone to stop itself from tumbling into the flames of the [Hellscape Domain] surrounding them.

“Futile attempt…” the monarch hissed, regaining balance.

But when its gaze snapped back toward Sam—

He was already in front of it.

‘What—?! He ignored the beam?!’

‘He rushed forward instead of retreating again…’

‘That thing… is insane!’

SLASH!

Sam’s sword carved a deep wound across the monarch’s chest, black ichor spilling from the cut.

But the creature didn’t falter. Its body was too durable, too monstrous to be felled so easily.

Then—

BOOM!

The beam struck.

The clone, having taken Sam’s place, was hit directly.

The [Primordial Barrier] shimmered, resisting for less than a second before it shattered under the relentless force.

The beam consumed the clone entirely, erasing it from existence.

Sam’s eyes widened.

‘It bypassed the 100 hits of the [Primordial Barrier].’

It wasn’t a single strike, it was a continuous torrent of divine energy, hitting hundreds of times per second.

Sam silently thanked himself for having used [Cooldown Breaker] earlier.

If he hadn’t… he’d already be dead.

The blast left a massive hole in the center of the platform, its edges glowing molten red.

The structure began to crumble, chunks falling away into the void below.

“It is over, Primordial!” the monarch shouted.

They charged again, swinging their scales to crush Sam where he stood.

Sam dodged, sliding across the cracked stone as dust and debris scattered around him.

His earlier strike had made the monarch bleed, but not enough to slow it down.

“You lost,” the creature declared, grinning with all three mouths.

Above, the giant scale began to glow once more—this time brighter than ever.

It wasn’t charging a simple beam anymore. It was preparing to erase everything.

“GAME. OVER.”

The words echoed through the void.

And yet, Sam smiled. The corner of his lips curled upward.

Because something else had just happened.

Ding!

[The “Verdict Bar” is full.]

[Judgment will now be given to those that wronged you.]

Fwish!

Before the monarch could react, a radiant golden circle formed beneath them, spinning rapidly like a wheel of divine light.

“Huh?”

From the circle, dozens of glowing chains burst forth, wrapping around the monarch’s limbs, torso, and neck in an instant.

“What—?”

“The fuck is this!?”

The three faces of the monarch shifted in confusion as the chains constricted tighter, glowing with golden runes.

He tried to resist, muscles bulging, scales clashing against the bindings—

But the more he struggled, the tighter they pulled. He couldn’t move.

Ding!

[The “Chains of Judgment” have been cast to stop the guilty.]

[Finish the job =)]

Sam’s eyes flickered, his expression hardening.

The monarch roared, but the chains wouldn’t break.

They glowed brighter, locking the creature in place completely.

Then, a single golden panel appeared before each of its three faces.

[You are about to be judged.]

“What—”

SLASH!

Before it could finish, Sam’s sword came down, severing two of its arms in one swift motion.

“The—”

SLASH!

Another swing cut the remaining arms clean off.

The monarch screamed, the sound blending rage, disbelief, and agony.

Even without its limbs, the chains continued to tighten, squeezing until cracks began to form along its exoskeleton.

‘So this is what happens when the [Verdict Bar] is full,’ Sam thought, narrowing his eyes, ‘It doesn’t kill them outright, it just binds them, giving ME the right to decide their fate myself.’

The [Chains of Judgment] didn’t execute.

They delivered power. The power to pass his own verdict.

And so, Sam raised his sword once more.

“Goodbye,” he said coldly, his tone carrying no hint of mercy, “My judgment was simply stronger than yours.”

The monarch’s three mouths began to laugh.

“I SEE NOW.”

“WE SEE.”

“I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS BATTLE, KING!”

They looked upward as if addressing something beyond Sam’s sight, but he didn’t care to ask what.

He didn’t need to.

SLASH!

His sword fell like a guillotine. The monarch’s head was severed instantly.

It hit the ground, rolling toward the edge before being swallowed by the crimson flames below.

The body collapsed, lifeless, as the chains dissolved into golden dust.

Above, the massive scale flickered and dimmed, its glow vanishing now that its master was dead.

Then—

Ding!

[Global Announcement: The “Fifth Mission” has been completed by the “Primordial.”]
