Chapter 251: 251:Ethan Is Furious
Ray paused hearing Herion words. His knuckles turned white as he gripped his sword tighter and shut his eyes. The urge to kill Kea right there was overwhelming but he forced it down. His jaw clenched and he exhaled slowly.
He turned to the women instead. “You all trust me right?”
They looked at one another and nodded.
“Then please follow me to Blank.”
Gratitude flickered in their eyes but so did fear.
Hesitation.
It was obvious they were wary.
They had been treated like objects, traded like animals. Promises meant nothing to them.
Ray understood that.
So he lifted his sword, pointed its tip downward with solemn dignity and declared loudly.
“I, Ray Blanks, first son of Ethan Blanks, swear here before your eyes that you will be safe. You will be respected. You will live as normal people again. And if you do not wish to follow me, you are free to leave. No one will stop you.”
Silence washed through them like a breeze. Their guarded expressions slowly softened. One woman began to cry. Another grasped her hand. Then one after another, they nodded.
Ray turned back to the bluish-haired girl.
“What’s your name?”
“Florence,” she replied firmly.
He nodded once. “From today, you are a member of Blanks. Now come on.”
“Follow me.”
…
SWOOOOSH!
KYA! COUGH!
Inside the Blanks estate, several men collapsed as an overwhelming pressure crashed down like a falling mountain. A dense killing intent spread through the hall, so heavy the air itself felt like blood.
At the center of that bloody storm stood Ethan, gently leaning against the table looking down at a group of men.
His eyes were cold enough to freeze their bones. His hand crushed a crumpled report page as if it were a neck he wanted to snap.
Hall and the other officers in the room trembled as knees nearly buckled and they collapsed onto the group.
“So human lives do not matter to you? And you did not think it important to inform me?” Ethan asked quietly but the silence cracked under his voice like glass.
Hall stuttered, “My Lord, you are already burdened with work. If we report every minor matter then your table will be buried in files—”
“So you think you are so Lord of this place that you can decide ON YOUR OWN!” Ethan’s roar erupted like thunder.
A shockwave blasted out.
The wooden material splintered. The wall cracked out and shook.Scrolls scattered like leaves in a storm.
Ethan’s rage swallowed the room whole.
Hall paled like death. “I—I…”
“If you stutter again I will smash your face into the floor,” Ethan growled.
Hall swallowed hard. “I apologise, My Lord.”
“Why?”
“Because I thought it was not a grave matter.”
Ethan’s voice turned razor sharp. “All of those involved will be punished with one hundred lashes. If anyone dares avoid punishment I will personally whip them.”
Faces turned sheet white. Sweat rolled down necks. They had seen Ethan angry before but most of the time it was an act but this time there was no act nor any discipline for show.
He was truly furious.
After Ethan defeated the Abyssal Cult and cleaned the undead horde, the region was supposed to be restored. Aid should have arrived. Survivors should have been helped, sheltered and protected.
Instead merchants used the chaos to enslave them.
Slavery was legal under certain terms, but what happened was far beyond law. Women were taken by force, families were murdered, and survivors sold like livestock. Beautiful ones were used for lust. Those who resisted were tortured, broken, and their family killed before their eyes.
And Ethan’s shadow forces knew.
They just did not report it because they assumed it was unimportant just because the Central Command allowed it and…
Because Blanks itself had not been affected.
Ethan’s jaw clenched so hard veins rose on his neck.
He stepped forward. His gaze locked onto Hall like a predator staring down prey.
“From today onwards, I want every detail no matter how small or useless on my table. If something like this happens again I swear I will fucking skin you all alive.”
“Is this clear?”
“Y..Ye!!”
“Don’t I feed you to speak!”
“YESSSS!”the people screamed.
“Dismiss!”
A loud voice rang out again, firm and commanding, forcing them all to fall back without hesitation.
…
Hall slowly lifted his chin, composed himself, and gave a deep respectful bow before turning to leave. His footsteps echoed lightly as he walked out of the chamber, with tension still clinging to his shoulders like weight.
As soon as he stepped outside, he noticed faint movements at the edge of the hallway.
Eyes peered curiously from corners.
Hall’s own eyes widened beneath the mask when he saw almost every servant of the mansion sneaking glances at them, some whispering quietly, some backing away as if afraid but fascinated at the same time. The corridor was silent yet filled with hidden breaths.
At the far end, three heads stuck out from behind a wall like poorly hidden thieves. Randall, Joel, and Oliver stared at Hall with suspicious wide-eyed looks, as if silently asking, What did you do inside? Their faces were stiff, their posture awkward, curiosity and fear mixing in their expressions.
“That guy! Is he done for?” Randall spoke first, blurting the question without thought.
“…”
“..”
Joel and Oliver stared at him blankly. Their deadpan expressions made it clear they wanted him to keep his mouth shut instead of saying something stupid aloud.
Hall’s eyes burned with rage under the mask. His patience cracked, and he snapped loudly.
“Stop watching!” Hall shouted, voice trembling with anger as he gritted his teeth. His hands curled into fists and his breath quickened.
Never in his life had he felt such deep, intense fury eating at his mind like this moment.
“Bastard… For every whip I get, I gonna torture you thoroughly!” Hall muttered to himself, voice low yet firm with resolve. He made up his mind right there, determined to use every method of torture they had collected over years.
