Chapter 250: 250:The Forced Slavery
Ray’s piercing gaze locked onto Kea, sharp enough to make the man flinch. A cold chill ran along everyone’s spine. It was the first time Ray felt such anger burning inside him and it shifted the air around him like a blade.

“Did you really think of me as an immature brat?” Ray’s voice came out low yet powerful.

In the next moment his figure blurred and he appeared beside the men holding the screaming woman down. Ray drew his sword with a swift motion and slammed the pommel into the mercenary’s skull.

“Gurrhh!”

A heavy thud echoed and the man dropped like a sack of dirt.

Kea’s eyes widened. His calm mask broke and he snarled like a cornered animal. “Damn brat! I showed you a path to heaven but you chose hell instead?”

He jabbed a finger forward in rage. “Do you really think I will bow just because you are a baron’s son? Nobles from the central region treat me with respect and you dare—”

His scream cut sharply. “Guards, kill him!”

Ray didn’t have patience to hear the bullshit and directly went to hit the nail on the coffin.

The Blank guards were not far yet that killing intent made all of them freeze for half a heartbeat. Then their bodies moved on instinct.

“Protect the Young Master!”

A mercenary lunged, blade ready to pierce Ray’s throat. But Ray’s wrist flicked like lightning.

CLANG!

The strike was deflected cleanly and the attacker was thrown back by Ray’s counter force. Ray stepped forward, sword following like a flowing stream. His blade twirled, feinted left and slashed down.

Another mercenary rushed in but Ray pivoted, used his leg to sweep the man off balance then struck the hilt of his blade against the man’s jaw.

He did not look shaken or hurried. His movements were smooth, precise, full of instinct and training.

“Soldiers. Lay these people to waste and free them!” Ray commanded without looking back.

“Yes, Master!” the Blank guards roared and charged.

“You all…Mercenaries kill them and bury them.Make sure not even one of them could escape..”Kea shouted atop of his lungs.

The battlefield cracked open with a jolt.

CLANG!CLANG!

The blades clashed against one another.

Blades reflected the sun. Ray cut through mercenaries like wind cutting grass. He dashed forward with swift footwork, sword spinning, flipping, striking with the right balance of force. Every time an enemy raised a weapon, Ray was already inside their guard, already swinging, already disarming, already dropping them to the dust.

One mercenary tried to stab from behind but Ray turned, elbowed his ribs and drove a kick into his chest. The man flew several meters and collapsed.

Herion too drew his sword and entered the fight. His strikes were strong and honest but not refined. Two mercenaries cornered him and his breath turned ragged. He blocked one hit but the second nearly slipped through when a Blank guard intervened and cut the attacker down.

“Ahaha… why is it so tough?” Herion gasped and sat down on the ground when the wave finally lessened. His hands shook slightly and fatigue washed over his face. He stared at Ray with disbelief while Ray kept moving like water flowing freely.

One guard patted Herion’s back. “Young Master, you just lack experience and real battle practice.”

“Um…” Herion nodded with a bitter smile.

There were seventy mercenaries in the caravan. Only twenty guards stood with Ray.

Yet when the dust settled, bodies of the defeated lay across the field. Most mercenaries were dead and the remaining few were knocked down, arms broken, swords shattered. The Blank guards stood firm, though many were bruised and panting.

Ray planted his sword into the ground and dragged it out, flicking blood off its blade. His eyes scanned the trembling survivors.

“Do not kill the merchants,” Ray ordered calmly. “I have something to ask.”

“Yes, Master!” the guards echoed.

He looked inside the wagons again. The girls inside stared at him with disbelief, some trembling, some crying silently. When the ropes were cut and chains removed, the slaves stumbled out one by one, falling to their knees before Ray.

“Thank you… Thank you Young Master…” a woman whispered with tears streaming down her cheeks.

Another choked out. “We will never forget you. You saved us and freed us from this hell.”

Ray exhaled slowly, feeling the weight of everything that had just happened. His gaze softened as one woman staggered forward. Her face was tear-stained yet firm and strong-willed. She was the same woman who had tried to escape earlier.

She kneeled with her back straight, eyes steady.

“Young Master,” she said gently, voice trembling but fearless. “I want to follow you.”

The field fell quiet.

Ray stood there with sword in hand as wind blew his silver hair.

Ray tilted his head slightly, gaze steady, and asked quietly, “Why?”

The girl standing before him trembled but did not look away. Her bluish hair hung over bruised shoulders and her thin frame shook from exhaustion, yet Ray saw something frighteningly firm in her eyes. A courage that looked carved into her bones.

She glanced at a younger, frailer girl beside her for a moment before she spoke. “Because I want to grow stronger so that my life will never be in someone else’s hands again. And because I want to protect the people I love.”

Ray’s chest tightened. He hesitated then asked, voice lower and rougher, “Your family…?”

Her eyes dimmed like a candle in the wind. “My father was killed. My mother committed suicide when they tried to force themselves on her.”

Something snapped inside Ray.

“BASTARDSSS!” he roared and stomped the ground. The earth cracked beneath his boot. The slaves flinched in shock.

Ray’s breathing turned heavy. He looked at the helpless women around him and anger burned through his veins like a wildfire. He could not even imagine the suffering they had gone through, yet just hearing a glimpse of it twisted his heart.

His eyes locked onto Kea who was caught by the guards.

Ray’s sword flashed out. He strode forward like a storm, ready to strike the man down where he stood. Hate burned across his face.

“Noooooooo! Don’t kill meee…”Kea shrieked in panic begging for mercy.

Just then Herion’s voice cut through the rage.

“Brother, calm down. We should let father handle this. Don’t lose yourself. He might have the intel we need.”
