Chapter 245: 245:EMOTIONAAL DAMAAGEEE
After waking up the next day, Ethan frowned.
‘System!’
‘Is something wrong?’
[Not that I know.]
‘I didn’t get the notification.’
[Host,it’s because there is nothing for you to gain from her..She is inferior to you both in potential and power.]
‘Potential…What potential does she have?’
[It’s C..]
‘Uh…’
Honestly Ethan expected it to be higher cause both Duke and Duchess were at Master rank.
‘Whatever…Let’s just enjoy the days.’
….
Ethan felt refreshed after the quiet and soothing honeymoon. His mind felt clear and his heart at ease. For the first time in a long while, he could breathe freely without weight on his shoulders.
He felt like he had stepped into heaven and returned with a lighter soul, as if peace itself had wrapped around him and Julia during their time away.
On the other side of the room, Julia sat still for a long moment. Her fingers slowly ran across her smooth stomach, her touch almost trembling as he heard the doctor.
“What… I am pregnant?” Julia whispered, her voice filled with disbelief. Her hands rested gently over her belly, and her eyes widened. She was shocked and happy, but there was also a small hint of melancholy in her expression.
Ethan noticed her strange look and frowned slightly in confusion. “What’s up with this weird expression?” he asked, stepping closer.
Julia did not answer right away. She lowered her gaze for a moment as if thinking deeply.
Then she looked at him again with a faint blush across her cheeks, her voice soft. “It’s just.. I want to do it a few more times.. It feels quite addictive..” she admitted, remembering the passionate moments between them.
She recalled how it felt to be taken by him, the intense rhythm of his movements, the heat, the pressure, and the overwhelming bliss every time he reached deep inside her. The sensation of being pushed against the peak again and again, her mind melting and her body giving in. It was something she knew she could never describe fully in words. It was more than desire. It was something that hooked itself in her.
Ethan blinked once, a little amused but mostly surprised. “Huh! You are worried about that.” He stepped closer and whispered into her ear, his voice warm and calm.
“We can do that even after getting pregnant.. Won’t it hurt the baby..”
Julia looked up immediately, her eyes sparkling with a sudden glow of interest and curiosity.
“No.. The first few months we can’t but it’s safe later..” Ethan replied, his tone steady and assuring. His explanation made Julia’s face brighten even more. She could already imagine future nights, the heat, the closeness, and all of it returning again.
“I am looking forward to it my dear husband,” she said softly, her voice warm yet shy.
Even though her words made him smile, Ethan felt a small regret inside. He had planned to use the Master Potion on her soon, but now pregnancy meant delay. Still, he gently brushed the thought aside.
‘We should make her wait..’ he told himself quietly.
Time passed, and after things settled down in the Barony, Ethan sent word to Duchess Emma, Julia’s mother. She arrived soon after, eager to meet her daughter and hear the news. But when she stepped inside and saw the Life Expectancy Plant growing in the courtyard, her body froze.
Her eyes widened slowly, disbelief spreading across her face. “This.. Is this what I am thinking?” she asked, her voice trembling slightly.
Ethan only shrugged lightly. “How can I know what you are thinking?” he said with a small joke. Emma glared at him in return, not amused.
“Where did you get it?” she demanded. Her voice was calm but sharp, like someone trying to hide panic under control.
Ethan lowered his gaze slightly. “Sorry, I can’t tell.”
Emma’s lips tightened. She looked at him seriously before walking forward. She crouched and reached out slowly, her fingertips brushing the leaves with caution. She looked like someone touching a sacred relic.
“As said by legend.. Its heavenly fruit can even make a dead run,” she whispered with awe.
“That’s true but it’s a bit of an exaggeration.. A person can only take two fruits.. Taking more than that is a waste. Also it can’t increase your life beyond 200 years.” Ethan explained slowly.
Emma inhaled deeply, shock shaking across her face. “Uh…” she breathed out. “It’s saddening.. However, how can such a heavenly thing exist that can extend life indefinitely.” Her voice was filled with wonder and disbelief.
Then she shifted her gaze toward Ethan. “You didn’t call me to show this plant right.”
Ethan smiled calmly and nodded. “I need your guidance.”
Emma blinked once, unsure. “Guidance for what?”
“Guidance on the path of mage.”
Emma stared silently. Confusion creased her forehead. “What? Mage path.. Why do you want to know about that?” she asked slowly.
Ethan exhaled and showcased her,”It’s because I am mage.”
She froze for a moment. Not a sound came from her. Her eyes did not even blink.
“….”
“This isn’t funny?” she said firmly, trying to hold steady.
“I am a Master rank Mage!”
“..” Her face went pale, unmoving like carved stone.
“I am not joking!”
“I am really not joking!” Ethan repeated loudly, growing frustrated as her expression did not change. He waved a hand in front of her face.
“Hello Mam.. Duchess.. Hello..” he said, leaning forward. He touched her shoulder lightly.
In the next second, Duchess Emma’s body swayed and collapsed. She fainted on the floor without a sound.
Ethan stood frozen, realizing what happened. His words had hit her too hard. The shock was simply too much. It was the kind of revelation that shattered calm and struck deep like lightning. His truth carried more weight than she could handle.
Her mind had broken under the surprise. Ethan crouched beside her immediately, understanding that he had unintentionally delivered her the kind of emotional blow one could never prepare for.
‘I see..That’s what people meant when they say emotional damage!’
