Chapter 237: 237:Go Chase Your Dreams
Few days later…

“Miranda.. I am gonna ask again..”

Ethan’s voice was calm, but his expression was solemn. He looked down at the little girl standing in front of him, holding her hands together tightly.

“Are you sure you want it… It’s useless for you..”

His eyes searched her face, as if trying to find even the slightest doubt.

“Yes daddy… Please let me take it… I swear I am gonna keep it safe..” Miranda spoke softly, her eyes sparkling with excitement. They shone like tiny stars, full of hope and eagerness. That innocent look alone made Ethan sigh helplessly.

Slowly, he reached into his sleeve and pulled something out.

It was a flute.

A beautiful one.

The flute was long and slender, crafted from polished ivory-white wood. Fine golden patterns ran along its surface like flowing vines. Tiny runes were engraved near the mouthpiece, glowing faintly as if they were alive.

The ends were capped with silver rings that reflected light softly. It felt ancient, valuable, and full of quiet power.

Yes, it was the Beast Tamer Flute.

Ethan had once planned to use it to build a beast army. However, they were never able to find a proper beast tamer. It was a rare job class, and there were not many in the kingdom. The few that existed were either unreliable or impossible to trust. Because of that, the flute had been lying unused, slowly gathering dust.

Miranda’s eyes widened the moment she saw it. Her lips parted slightly, and she stared at it with pure joy.

“What are you gonna do?” Ethan asked, watching her carefully.

Miranda gently grabbed the flute with both hands. She lifted her head and gave him a cheeky smile.”Let me show you..”

She raised the flute to her lips and took a small breath.

At first, the sound that came out was uneven and shaky. The notes were scattered, and the melody felt awkward. Ethan frowned slightly but stayed silent. Miranda tried again. Her fingers moved carefully, and she adjusted her breathing.

The third time, something changed.

The sound grew clearer. The melody began to form. The flute released a soft, flowing tune that carried warmth and innocence. The rhythm became steady, and the notes danced gently in the air like falling petals. It was not loud, but it was sincere. Each note felt alive.

As Miranda continued playing, the music grew more beautiful. Her fingers moved naturally now, and her breathing matched the rhythm. The tune tugged at Ethan’s chest suddenly, making his heart jolt.

Nearby servants and workers slowly stopped what they were doing. Some leaned on tools, others stood still. Smiles spread across their faces as they turned to look at Miranda. The atmosphere softened.

Ethan’s eyes faltered. His chest felt tight, and joy erupted inside him without warning.

‘I never knew she has such a talent.’

When Miranda finished, the final note lingered softly in the air. She lowered the flute slowly and looked up at him.

“Father.. How is it?” she asked, her voice small.”Did I sing well?”

She bit her lower lip nervously and glanced at his expression. It had not been long since she discovered her love for singing and music. It was during an opera event when she first felt it. Now, doubt crept into her heart. She wondered if her mother would dislike it.

Ethan kneeled down in front of her, bringing himself to her eye level.

“Miranda, do you want to be a musician?”

Miranda fiddled with her fingers, her cheeks slightly puffed. Her eyes shifted side to side. Then she nodded slowly.

“Yes Papa… I want to be a musician.. I don’t like fighting..”

She lifted her head and spoke more firmly.

“I swear I won’t neglect training because at the end one needs to rely on oneself.”

Her voice softened again.

“But I like singing.”

Her words struck Ethan’s heart like a heavy truck. A deep memory he had buried long ago surfaced.

Ethan’s talents did not appear out of nowhere.

His mother was a model. His father was a fashion designer.

However…..

What he truly wanted was singing. He wanted to sing on stage.

They opposed him. They rejected it. He ran away and worked hard to become a singer.

However…

His singing was terrible.

It was worse than garbage.

He failed. He felt ashamed for throwing tantrums. In the end, he returned home and followed the path of designing clothes and modeling.

Singing…

‘So what if I didn’t make it.. My daughter…’

Ethan raised his hand and placed it gently on Miranda’s head.

“Do it!”

“Huh!” Miranda blinked.

“Go and chase your dream Miranda and make your name..”

…….

While Ruthiana enjoyed peace, far away in the Western region, life was still harsh and heavy.

People worked from dawn till dusk, rebuilding broken huts and damaged thatched roofs. Burn marks still covered the ground. The marks left by cultists followed by monster attacks had torn apart their daily lives. Walls were cracked, tools were broken, and many homes were nothing more than skeletons of wood and mud.

However, with the onset of peace, they slowly tried to return to normal life. Hands that once trembled now lifted hammers again. Children helped carry straw, and elders guided repairs with tired voices. Even so, their hearts remained uneasy.

The harvest had been destroyed. Crops were burned, trampled, or eaten by monsters. There was nothing left to gather. They would have to wait until next year to farm again.

This weighed heavily on everyone.

Food was running low.

Because of that, a group of hunters decided to venture into the forest in search of game. They carried bows, worn knives, and empty sacks. Their faces were thin, seeing hunger etched into their eyes.

“Keep your eyes open,” one hunter whispered while crouching behind bushes.

“I saw tracks near the river yesterday,” another replied, drawing his bow.

“Don’t waste arrows. We can’t afford it,” a third muttered as he slowly moved forward.

An arrow was released.

Thwip!

It struck a tree instead.

“Tch. Missed,” the hunter clicked his tongue.

Suddenly, something flew through the air.

One of the men noticed it at the last second.

“Dodged!”

He lunged forward and shoved another hunter away. The object missed its original target but struck him instead. It wrapped tightly around his legs like a living rope and dragged him down.

“Ahhh!” he screamed as he fell.

“What is thismz!”

The hunters froze. Panic spread through them. The strange thing tightened further, binding him completely.

Then shadows moved between the trees.

A group of men stepped out slowly. Their faces twisted with lewd and heinous expressions. Their eyes were filled with hunger of a different kind.

“It’s going to be a nice catch ..” one of them sneered.

“Who?” a hunter shouted while stepping back.

“Who are you all?”
