216: 216:Time To Return Home 216: 216:Time To Return Home Emma walked to and fro with a frown.

“He isn’t a man who ignores this.”Emma said.

“I am sure he hasn’t gotten it.” Emma has sent many letters asking for help at first and then for his suggestions but till now she hadn’t gotten a single reply.

“Is someone intercepting it..” “It seems I need to send another one through special means.” ….

In the Northern Region.

A grave scene unfolded.

The entire Northern Region had been devastated and torn apart by the war between the three regions.

Cities burned, streets were littered with the ruins of battles, and the sky was thick with smoke.

Blood soaked the soil, and cries of agony still echoed through the wind.

The Ardentia Empire had created a situation that no one expected.

Their sudden aggressive assault shook the balance of power and turned the battlefield into chaos.

And then came the next development that struck like lightning.

Both Frontier and Ruthiana joined hands to share the treasure and took down Ardentia together.

No one could believe it.

Ardentia had only wanted to prolong the war and muddy the waters by playing one side against the other.

They counted on their enemies tearing each other apart, but they never expected that two bitter rivals would unite just to deal with them.

The sudden alliance shocked not only the Empire but also the soldiers from Frontier and Ruthiana.

They had been fighting tooth and nail for more than a year, trying to tear each other’s throats out.

Many had lost loved ones and sworn revenge against the enemy.

The hatred was deep and personal.

And now, out of nowhere, they were told to fight side by side.

The order left a bitter taste in everyone’s mouth, but there was nothing they could say.

The command from above was absolute and unquestionable.

Minor skirmishes still broke out between units.

Old grudges did not vanish overnight.

However, with both sides joining the fray in a joint assault, the pressure became overwhelming.

And so, Ardentia finally began to retreat, and the war was on the verge of ending.

…

At the center region of the battlefield, a man stood outside a temporary command tent and stared up at the sky.

His armor was dented, and dried blood stained his clothes.

His tired eyes watched carefully as something moved far above.

He saw a bluish falcon circling overhead.

He immediately understood what it was and shouted.

“It’s the letter from the estate!

Quickly, grab it!” The falcon screeched and recognized its target.

It dove down fast and landed firmly on the man’s shoulder.

The soldier reached out and took the parchment tied to its talon.

Without waiting a second, he turned and ran inside the tent.

Inside the large command tent, a man was studying maps with a heavy and sombre expression.

His brows were furrowed as he calculated strategies.

The air inside was thick with tension.

“Your Highness, there is a letter,” the soldier announced breathlessly.

“A letter?” the man asked sharply.

His dull expression vanished and excitement flashed in his eyes.

He reached out immediately.

“Quickly.

Hand it over!” The soldier bowed and passed the parchment to him with both hands.

Duke Phillips tore the seal open and glanced at it.

The moment he saw the handwriting, he froze.

It was from his wife.

But after reading the first few lines, his expression twisted in shock.

“What?” His voice rose, trembling with disbelief.

“Cultist attack?” His eyes widened, and his hands shook.

He slammed the letter on the table and stared at the people around him, his gaze turning cold and sharp.

“Why don’t I know about this?” he screamed in fury.

“Your Highness, we don’t know anything,” the knight beside him answered nervously.

“But she said she already sent five letters.

One to us and one to the King,” Duke Phillips said in confusion and anger.

“Then how is it that we received nothing?” “It is possible the previous one was intercepted,” another soldier said cautiously.

“Then how did this reach here?” Duke Phillips snarled with a bitter laugh.

The man stepped forward and answered, “Your Highness, this letter was brought by the Blue Falcon.” “Blue Falcon…” Duke Phillips muttered, and his expression changed immediately.

Blue Falcon was no ordinary messenger bird.

It was a rare tamed beast belonging to his wife.

It was fast, intelligent and able to disappear from sight in the open air as if melting into the wind.

She used it only in emergencies.

Using the Blue Falcon meant she suspected something was wrong.

She must have believed the earlier letters had never reached him.

And now, holding the evidence in his hand, he realized she was right.

The absurdity of everything that transpired left him frozen.

At first, his Duchy had lost a few cities.

Strong Master Rank enemies had appeared from nowhere and attacked without warning.

And if not for Ethan appearing at the last moment, it would have been game over.

Everything would have fallen.

It sounded unbelievable, but he believed every word in the letter.

He trusted his wife and he trusted Ethan.

And yet, despite the danger, despite the lives at stake, despite the devastation, the Royal Family had done nothing.

“DAMN IT!

That bastard!” Duke Phillips roared furiously.

“Your Highness, calm down,” his guards pleaded.

“Please.

Even walls have ears.” But Duke Phillips was trembling with rage.

Veins rose on his forehead.

His teeth clenched so tightly it looked like they might crack.

All of his fury was directed at the Royal Family.

‘So in your eyes, my Duchy is not worth enough compared to this Treasure?’ ‘Hateful.

Truly hateful.’ His fists balled up.

The air trembled around him.

Then he slammed his fist down on the table with full force.

A loud boom erupted and the entire table shattered into pieces, flattening into dust unable to withstand the pressure.

The tent fell silent.

No one dared to breathe.

Duke Phillips clicked his tongue and spoke with a suppressed growl.

“Bring me a pen and paper.

I can use this excuse to get out.

I am sick of this bullshit farce.” He turned toward a man wearing heavy black knight armor standing beside him.

The man looked exhausted and battle-worn.

“You also want to go home, right?” Duke Phillips asked.

The man paused and his throat tightened.

Then he nodded slowly.”Home… Yes.

I am also craving for it.”
