Chapter 163: Saint Tier Infernal World Serpent
While the serpent-tailed hyena advanced toward the leviathan, Leander commanded it to activate an advanced skill that made it grow to thirteen feet.
The summon’s serpent tail became much longer, almost twice the length of the hyena itself. Along with that, the hyena’s claws became like actual curved daggers, and its fangs grew out like sabers.
With a ferocious growl, it leaped, striking the leviathan’s face. The hyena’s claws opened sharp gashes through Levi’s tough scales, forcing the aquatic apex predator to roar, twist its neck, and bite down.
The hyena leaped out. Even though it was immune to claws, fangs, bullets, and other forms of physical attacks, the leviathan was much bigger than it.
That size made it a bit easier for the Leviathan to swallow it. However, that would also grant it the opportunity to inflict the sea creature with its venom.
Unfortunately, the risk was great. With that option thrown out the window, the hyena’s serpent tail lashed out, heading straight for the Leviathan’s eyes.
The serpent opened its mouth, revealing two sharp fangs, but just then, Percival gave a command.
Levi activated an Ascendant skill, a skill it developed after surviving a near-death experience caused by the first Ouroboros it encountered.
Instantaneously, the leviathan’s blue scales became primarily gray and black, giving it a rocky appearance with sharp protrusions.
It lifted its head, and the serpent struck the heavily armoured skull. Its fangs couldn’t pierce through. Without the ability to inflict its venom, Leander knew his summon stood no chance of winning against the leviathan.
In that moment, he used Exchange, switching places with his summon before the leviathan could chomp down.
He appeared where his summon once stood, with the giant fangs of the leviathan descending from above. The creature’s shadow enveloped him.
Leander drew a dagger strapped to his waist. It was a gift from a guild master to his family, made from the fang of a 15.5 peak-level Throne Tier boss. The dagger could go for several hundred million at auction.
‘I brought this dagger to kill you and Godfrey, and no one will save either of you from me!’ Leander’s eyes gleamed as he swung it upward.
However, Percival also used Exchange and retrieved his leviathan, but that move put him in close proximity with the dagger. Its gleaming edge reflected in his irises.
In that split second, Percival burst into droplets of water and gathered back together behind Leander.
‘I knew you’d do that!’ Leander bellowed inwardly as he released the dagger, grabbed it with his other hand, and swung backward with all his might.
Percival ducked in time, narrowly evading a crescent beam that flashed out, slicing the wall of an abandoned three-story apartment complex open.
A trident appeared in Percival’s hands, and he swept Leander off his feet. Percival sprang up with the trident above his head and struck Leander right on the chest, shattering the old asphalt road as web-like cracks spread outward.
A great amount of dust rose from the shattered earth. Percival brandished his trident and retreated, as Leander might use the dust to his advantage. It was better to rely only on his instincts and ears.
“As expected of the Shadow King’s Ace.” Leander’s voice rang from the dust cloud as two gleaming red eyes shone. He brandished his dagger as a massive diagram flared up behind him.
The size of the diagram made Percival squint, but even that wasn’t enough to justify the creature that was summoned.
A serpent, its entire length close to a thousand feet and thicker than a city bus.
Its head loomed high above the nearby buildings as its body stretched out like a volcano in the shape of a snake. Dense, churning black smoke and ash billowed from its body, coiling like clouds. It seemed as if the serpent was barely containing a volcanic core.
The Infernal World Serpent’s fiery magma eyes locked onto Percival, who looked insignificant compared to the snake. Standing directly beneath this monstrous summon, Leander stretched out his hand.
“Unfortunately… not even your Shadow King is my match.”
The appearance of a 15.9 Saint Tier summon sent an invisible wave that made Oliver, Dax, Thalia, and Arden, who were engaged in combat with their squads against the agents, turn.
Bullets flew and summons clashed, but that Saint Tier’s aura loomed as black smoke and ash rose into the distant clouds.
Bram looked in that direction. ‘Leander has gone all out. Whoever he’s facing won’t survive.’

In a different place, with the buildings around levelled to rubble, Superintendent Amber looked at the man seated atop a huge pile of stone debris.
It was none other than Arian.
The moment Amber sensed the Saint Tier serpent, her eyes gleamed and a portal appeared above her. A phoenix whose entire body emanated flames flew out with a piercing cry, gracefully spinning upward with its flaming wings tucked in.
When it finally spread its wings, flames blasted outward with a fierce gale that levelled buildings far away.
“Well then.” Arian rose to his feet.

Leander tilted his head, his expression cold as ice. “Kill him.”
At that order, the Infernal World Serpent lowered its head. It was so massive that it had no need to move the rest of its body.
Percival summoned King, a 15.5 peak-level Throne Tier. He fused with King, lifted the trident, and struck the earth with its base.
The clouds rumbled as water descended from above like dark storm clouds, swirling into a tornado.
It fell as a towering column of water connecting the sky to earth. The gale alone ripped buildings from their foundations as the ground cracked and burst, mini water tornadoes rising everywhere.
The Sea King’s blue hair whipped violently, but like an undisturbed behemoth, the Infernal World Serpent forced its head through the descending vortex, glaring at him as the smoke thickened.
It lunged downward.
King transformed into a massive legless water giant, using all the water he had conjured to hold the serpent’s colossal jaws.
His water evaporated at a terrifying rate.
Suddenly, King turned his head, only to see the serpent’s tail sweeping toward him, causing massive destruction in its wake.
