Chapter 160: First Clash
“I’ve never seen this many soldiers in Brooklyn, and these are the elite kind. What’s going on?” a freelancer riding a horse whose mane was made of ice spikes asked with a raised eyebrow as he watched the convoy drive into Brooklyn.
It was weird to see even one of them, and now there was a whole convoy full of Agents.
“I don’t know. Whatever it is, it’s not something people like us can interfere with or even know about,” someone else replied solemnly.
The convoy attracted glances and caused discussions until it vanished into a blue gate.
“They entered the new blue gate dungeon?! I knew there was something odd about that first group. If the Authorities could send such troops, they want to achieve their goal at all costs!”
A freelancer who sold weapons said strongly.

All the armoured trucks came to a halt after moving through the underground passage.
“This is where the Vagabonds call paradise?” Henry lifted an eyebrow.
“I won’t say I’m surprised. What more did we expect from people who flee from society?” he added.
“It can’t be here. This dungeon was claimed to have opened recently. It’s impossible for the Vagabonds to be here. I feel we have been lured,” Amber said while looking around. All she could see were abandoned buildings with lots of greenery growing within most of them.
“Have the airborne squad move out,” Amber ordered.
Bram relayed her command and one of the truck roofs opened up.
Five agents came out and jumped down. Midway, each summoned a pegasus, and the winged horses neighed before dashing forward.
After a few steps, they unfurled their wide, feathered wings and flapped once, blasting the air outward as their hooves left the ground. With the second flap and the third, they were already soaring beyond a two-story building. All five of them went high into the air, beyond the tall buildings.
“Follow them. Ready the machine guns,” Amber gave her next order, and machine guns popped out of their chambers as agents mounted them.
While the convoy resumed its journey, in one of the trucks, Dale looked at Lucy, who sat there absent-minded.
“Hey.”
Lucy turned toward him and her face went cold.
“Why did the headmistress say Isolde isn’t allowed to come with us? Don’t tell me she’s still into a homeless and futureless Vagabond?” Dale spat.
Orwen, who wore a white hoodie, lifted his head. “I’d get it if he didn’t become what he is now. I mean, that Godfrey wasn’t bad at all. Now… he’s just a mass murderer. His kill count might be closing in on a thousand. That’s too much to keep as a friend.”
“He’s not your friend,” Lucy retorted.
“Oh?!” Others looked at her.
“My father is amongst those he killed!” one of her classmates rose to his feet, glaring at her with hate.
“See that?” Leander said with an authoritative tone as he crossed his arms. Siegfried rose to his feet while chuckling.
“Alright, alright. Let’s say we did cross the line once or twice but… that doesn’t excuse him or give him the right to kill. Wasn’t he good at showing mercy? Or was that just a ploy? He was just hiding the murderous, angry killing machine inside.”
Siegfried squatted before Lucy as he spoke, his breath irritating her.
“Get lost.”
Siegfried scoffed. “I know you’re not weak anymore, but look…” He pointed at the others. “Not a single person here supports you. So why don’t yo—!”
His hand became jade-like, but Leander stopped him with one word.
“Enough.”
Siegfried froze.
“If she was that loyal, she would have made her stance clear, but she hasn’t. All this is just a foolish effort at trying to remove that guilt, because she’s also looking for points like the rest of us,” Leander scoffed.
“You should be saving your strength and preparing your minds,” Snow’s voice rang, drawing everyone’s attention to him.
“He’s a criminal, we all know that. But if you think you can just catch him because you have the numbers and you’re furious he killed your father or mother, you’re joking. One of his knights probably cut down your parents. He might not have seen their faces.”
Snow lifted his head, eyes gleaming bright. “The man you’ll be facing, you know what he can do. He’s dealt with every single one of you. That mercy was because we were within school grounds. I would have killed the likes of you myself if we met in a dungeon.”
“Watch your tongue,” Leander frowned.
Snow tilted his head toward him. “I am doing just that. You’re not.”
“You boys can fight all you want, but after we’ve dealt with Godfrey, one Daniels and we already have a lot of problems. Thank goodness there are not more of them,” Cecil said.
She had grown into a beautiful young woman with an expression that seemed like she was frowning all the time. She still maintained her long bob-cut style.
Even if she couldn’t catch or defeat Godfrey, she would bring down as many Vagabonds as she could. That would secure her a higher place once she graduated.
With the forces gathered, she was sure Godfrey’s story would meet its end within this dungeon.
Suddenly, they heard gunfire from the machine guns. In the next moment, the doors were opened, revealing dogs made of vines and roots. Dungeon beasts.
In the front truck, their eyes all widened as they saw the Sea King fall from a portal. As he fell, a large amount of water gushed out of the portal.
It slammed onto the old asphalt road, tearing it open as a great flood swept out. Amber couldn’t believe a summon could manifest such an amount of water.
They only concluded it could manipulate a great deal of water.
This ability made it even more of a threat than they had thought.
King spun his golden trident, sprinkling droplets of water before swinging it upwards as bullets came his way. The huge amount of water split the convoy, pulling them against their will in different directions.
He struck the trident into the ground, and within it was Percival, seated in a space, watching everything through King’s eyes.
‘I’ve separated them. Let’s begin.’
On one of the tallest skyscrapers, Godfrey sat on the floor, looking at Mountain, Ballista, Tempest, Lament, and Dirge, all of whom were on one knee with their heads lowered.
“Head out.”
All of them swiftly entered Black-Out State.
Black smoke billowed out of Dirge as she flew into the sky. Wings sprouted from Tempest’s back. Ballista turned invisible, as if he cut all connection to the material plane.
Mountain roared as he leaped off the place, falling first with his shield, while Lament rode vertically down the skyscraper.
They reached the ground at the same time. The moment Mountain crashed, his shield reflected the damage, leaving huge web-like cracks on the ground.
Their Grand Prince rose to his feet, watching everything from the top.
Others might summon dragons, but he had legendary knights with an army, why not use them effectively?
