- Chapter 150 - 150 Leaving Early
150: Leaving Early 150: Leaving Early Kyrian closed his hand over the pendant.
The sensation was slightly strange, but it didn’t bother him.
After thinking for a moment, he hung it around his neck.
Dong Zhen observed and then spoke.
“Now it works.” Dong Zhen then crossed his arms.
“Do you have any questions about anything?” Kyrian thought briefly.
He had no questions about the tournament, about the branches, about the dormitory, or about the Blood Court at the moment.
But there was something from before, from when they left the collapsed tower.
“I do.” Kyrian said, finally.
“How did you kill the elders at that time?
I felt as if my control over the blood had been cut off suddenly for a moment.” Dong Zhen raised an eyebrow.
“Ah… that?” He shook his head.
“You should already know the intent, from what I noticed.
After all, you already understood the blood intent.
But that was the next level.” Kyrian kept his eyes fixed on him.
“That is the Blood Aura.” Dong Zhen explained without hurry.
“It is the natural evolution of intent.
But don’t think too much about it.
It’s not something you need to worry about understanding with your current strength.” He then added.
“Wait at least until you’re in the realm of spiritual awakening.
Only then can you begin to touch that level.” Kyrian didn’t react outwardly, but he recorded the information in his mind.
Dong Zhen took a step back.
“If you have more questions, ask.
Otherwise, I’ll leave now…” he said as he turned toward the blood core.
“Tomorrow I’ll begin the preparations for the tournament.” Kyrian just nodded.
There were no more questions.
Kyrian then watched Dong Zhen turn his back and walk toward the blood core.
He placed his hand over the formation, and the core pulsed lightly.
Red threads twisted for an instant and then calmed down.
It seemed to be just a method of communication with the fortress.
Kyrian didn’t ask about it.
Dong Zhen simply finished his action, moved his arm back, and disappeared through the same side door from which he had emerged earlier.
The hall became quiet again.
Kyrian stood where he was, feeling the low pulse of the core reverberate through the ground.
The constant, but not aggressive, energy.
“The entire place is connected to the core…” Kyrian murmured.
Whoever had control of that blood core could control the fortress completely, at least that was what Kyrian thought.
And the core was exposed because there were many protective formations around it.
Kyrian imagined what they would do if someone touched them.
He only imagined, because he still wasn’t crazy enough to test it.
He touched the pendant on his neck.
The surface was still cold, but the crimson glow seemed to pulse in sync with his heart.
A simple control.
A life marking.
Nothing more.
Wei Feng’s pendant seemed to have had some problem, because Dong Zhen managed to track him perfectly even after the old man’s death.
“Maybe… when he crossed the mountains at the end?” Kyrian guessed.
But he pushed that to the back of his mind soon after.
Kyrian then walked to one of the nearby columns and sat down there.
Resting his back against the black wall.
The cold coming from it seemed to slowly seep through his clothes.
But it didn’t bother him.
He observed the blood core for a few minutes.
It was strange to be there.
The Blood Court was not the sect he had chosen to go to, it wasn’t his original path and wasn’t part of any bigger plan Kyrian had.
He simply fell into that flow of events.
But now he was there, officially, as a disciple of the main branch.
It was not a small position.
Kyrian closed his eyes while thinking, when suddenly, when he least expected it, a familiar burning sensation appeared on one of his hands.
“What?” Kyrian murmured and looked at the mark on his hand.
It began to burn again.
Kyrian paid attention to the signal he received from the mark, and surprise appeared on his face.
“This…” “It’s this close?” Kyrian murmured.
The next natural formation, which was extremely far when he was in the Verdant Sword Domain, was now relatively close.
Perhaps a few days away if he had a flying beast.
Kyrian thought a little, and it didn’t take long to decide.
“I’ll talk to Dong Zhen to leave the fortress for a few days.” Kyrian said as he got up.
Then, without wasting time, he pushed away from the column.
He walked to the side door through which Dong Zhen had left.
Before reaching it, he found one of the servants who patrolled the corridor.
The man wore the same gray garments typical of the internal servants of the fortress, always silent, minding their own business, but always alert.
Kyrian stopped in front of him.
“Dong Zhen.
Where is he?” Kyrian asked without hesitation.
The servant straightened his posture immediately.
“I saw Master Dong entering his office a short while ago.” He responded.
“Take me there.” The servant merely nodded and turned his body, moving through the long corridors.
Kyrian followed him in silence.
The fortress looked the same no matter where they went, always black walls with dim runes and the same red veins.
After a few minutes, they arrived at a reinforced door with two metal plates.
The servant knocked twice with his fist.
“Enter.” Dong Zhen’s voice came immediately.
The servant opened the door and stepped aside.
Kyrian then entered.
Dong Zhen was standing in front of a table with some communication crystals and organized scrolls.
He lifted his gaze as soon as Kyrian entered.
Kyrian was direct and said.
“I need to leave for a few days.” “Oh.
You barely arrived, and you already want to go?” Dong Zhen commented, crossing his arms.
There was no reprimand in his voice, just mild surprise.
Dong Zhen observed for a few moments.
The expression on Kyrian’s face was clear.
Decided.
The mark on his hand still pulsed lightly, indicating the direction with a constant pain.
After a few seconds, Dong Zhen exhaled.
“I understand.
I won’t stop you.” He raised one hand and pointed to the door.
“Just return before the tournament.
Preferably in one piece.” Kyrian only confirmed with a nod.
“Is there any flying beast available?” He asked right after.
Dong Zhen made a simple gesture.
“Call the servant in the corridor.” Kyrian opened the door, and the same servant was waiting.
Dong Zhen then continued.
“Take him to the stables.
And provide him with a suitable mount.” “Understood, sir.” The servant replied.
