590: Unexpected Visit 590: Unexpected Visit Vergil looked ahead, and he really wanted to understand how things got to this point… “So… you two are telling me that… you want to be demons?” Vergil asked as he remained seated on the sofa, looking at Iridia and Zex, who were kneeling down, staring at him with huge, sweet eyes, trying to charm him into accepting them.

“I-I mean, we can’t go on like this!” Iridia exclaimed, almost pleading, “We’re always being left here!

We can’t go to the underworld!

This is so frustrating!

We want to be close to the Master!” she said.

Despite her maid dress and her manner of speaking, she was still a woman, and a woman of God, not ironically!

That was what was worrying Vergil… “Stop looking at us like little angels!” Zex exclaimed, shaking her head as the blue bangs of her hair blocked Vergil’s view of her eyes.

“We are no longer servants of God!

We never will be again.

It’s disgusting to think that we serve the church.” She spoke nervously, and Vergil could see her amber eyes glowing with anger even through her hair.

Vergil, however…

“Think about it.” He spoke firmly as he crossed his legs and looked directly into Zex’s eyes, who finally looked up at him.

“The moment you become demons, I don’t know what will happen to you.” Iridia, seeing that he was giving in, simply commented, “And does it matter?

You are the Demon King; even if something happens, we can solve it with your influence.” Vergil looked at her and sighed, “It seems you misunderstood something.” Iridia looked at him, “Hm?” confused.

“It wasn’t about that kind of problem I was talking about, but rather…

about your transformation.

Unlike me, you’ve always been human.

Becoming a demon can destroy your mind, destroy your existence, and transform you into things you never wanted.” He said with a sigh.

“I don’t want you to be condemned to a life you never wanted.” Zex looked down, watching her nails, which were already beginning to penetrate her flesh from how nervous she was.

They were slowly digging into her thigh, causing a pain she didn’t even care to feel.

“You’re scaring them.” A voice entered the living room of Sapphire’s mansion in the human world.

Vergil turned his gaze to the entrance of the room to see Sepphirothy, his mother, standing there watching with a calm smile.

“It seems you’ve been there for a while,” Vergil said with a slight smile.

“Long enough to hear their plea.

Although I find it quite desperate.” She said with a slight smile, “But I understand why they’re like that.” She walked toward him and sat on the edge of the sofa.

She shook her white hair back and stared at them.

“There’s a way for them to become noble demons quickly, but…

it might cause some problems for the Underworld and Eden.” Vergil just sighed, waiting for his mother to speak…

He didn’t much like that annoying delay she always used to say things.

“Transform them with your blood, using the demonic contract,” Sepphirothy said, looking at her hair, playing with it between her fingers.

“I was already going to do that,” Vergil said, after all…

That’s how he became a demon, at least he thought that was the case back when Katharina, Ada, and Roxanne joined forces to perform the ritual…

But back then, he was already a demon, even though he didn’t know it.

“Oh, right.

Looks like I forgot to tell you.” Sepphirothy spoke and pointed to the other side of Vergil’s chest.

“Your body awareness is pretty bad, you should start training again.

Did you forget you have nine hearts now?

I mean, actually, it’s been a while.

Since you’re now aware of your bloodline, your heart must have expanded.” She spoke calmly, as if it were nothing.

Vergil looked at her to see if she was lying or not, but there was no reason for her to lie.

Vergil then spread his demonic energy throughout his body, and then he realized…

they looked like small balls of dough, but they were pulsating…

like little chicken hearts.

“How can I not-” “Probably your consciousness just adapted them to your body.

They’re small because they’ve become just demonic energy production and…

well, you know,” she said, whispering in his ear.

“Positive Energy…

after all, you are a Nephilim.” Iridia and Zex stared at Sepphirothy, who seemed to be telling a secret, or rather, keeping a secret from them.

They heard absolutely nothing, and this made them quite curious about the whole mystery.

Vergil, however, despite knowing, never took this Nephilim thing seriously, after all…

Did Isos change anything?

Definitely not.

In fact, it seemed like a momentary thing until now.

“Are you suggesting that-” Before he could finish speaking, she put her hand over his mouth and said, “Shhh, someone might hear,” she said, her blue eyes shining.

“We have company,” she said, and then, Zex and Iridia were surrounded by a barrier Sepphirothy had made.

“I’ll hide you,” she said, and then…

Zex and Iridia teleported away using her magic, the blue magic circle disappearing with them both.

Vergil then felt the energy coming from the heavens…

Sepphirothy looked wearily and sighed, “It seems that bitch came to talk to me again…

oh, how tiring.” Sepphirothy said wearily and stood up.

“Want to come with me?” she asked.

Vergil looked at her and just sighed and nodded.

“Who is it?” he asked as he stood up.

Sepphirothy just grumbled, “The most annoying angel in Eden,” she muttered and continued walking.

Vergil followed her into the garden.

As he left the mansion, passing the peaceful pool area, a wind blew from the heavens as an angel descended.

Vergil looked and sighed.

He’d seen that woman before.

When Sepphirothy awakened and fought Sapphire in the middle of Los Angeles, nearly destroying the entire city, that’s when she and the other factions appeared…

“Raphael…” Vergil murmured, watching the angel descend with her white wings fluttering.

What could he expect from an angel other than celestial beauty?

She was perhaps more beautiful than the last time Vergil saw her…

Yes, definitely.

Her previously short pink hair had grown long enough to reach her waist, her eyes remained fierce yet calm, her smile serene, but her body…

Well…

Let’s just say her body rivaled the finest succubuses in the underworld.

Raphael slowly and gracefully descended to the ground, the light around him fading along with the winds, though his overwhelming presence remained intact.

His piercing golden eyes scanned the surrounding area, analyzing everything he could see, as if searching for something that could hurt her.

She seemed unfazed, almost bored, but her arrival caused the temperature to drop several degrees.

She quickly returned, after all, they were in an open space.

“I’m sorry for coming unannounced,” Raphael said, looking at Sepphirothy, who was a little confused by the woman’s behavior…

After all…

Raphael was one of the most…

bold in the celestial domain; she wasn’t so…

polite.

But of course, this served to make Sepphirothy realize that… she wasn’t there for no reason, in fact… there was a very clear reason… “I imagine it’s an official visit… like Raphael, to Seraphim,” Sepphirothy said, looking at Raphael, who smiled wryly, holding back from saying more than he should.

“You’re right, I came at the request of the High Father to speak with… Him,” she said, pointing at Vergil, who looked confused.

“But huh?” he asked, pointing to himself.

“Of all people?” he asked… “What the hell is going on with the gods?

First Wukong… now the High Father…” Vergil thought.

It was something that was really bothering him now.

Wukong had basically made a deal with him, and Vergil had only received a replica of the Monkey King’s Staff.

A really good weapon, but not enough for him to do a great job like stopping Yama.

Still, it’ll probably be fun…

But…

The Celestial Father?…

“The Celestial Father wishes…

to have a good relationship with you.” Raphael spoke slowly, bowing…

it was a small bow, but seeing it, Sepphirothy’s entire body roared internally.

“W-What?” Sepphirothy stammered.

“How dare that old man-” “Mother, calm down.” Vergil said, placing his hand on her shoulder.

“Let’s hear what she has to say, after all…

We’re family, right?” He smiled, but that smile.

It made Sepphirothy’s entire body tremble…

tremble with…

fear?

Vergil’s gaze was as if…

the apocalypse had materialized within those eyes that slowly turned red…

they looked like the end of the mortal world…

Raphael saw it, but didn’t say anything or look directly at it, but his body broke out in a cold sweat…

‘Lucifer is my mother’s father, and Lucifer is the son of the Heavenly Father…

that means that even from a distance, he’s my great-grandfather…’ Vergil thought as he looked at Raphael…

“What happened?” Vergil asked, both Raphael and Sepphirothy looking deeply at him…

“You…” Sepphirothy started to speak, but didn’t continue.

She just shook her head and said to Raphael, “Let’s go in.

Let’s hear the message from the Heavenly Father.” She nodded, looking down…

“What was that?…

Because I saw the Genesis War in his eyes!

That madman!

Has he already reached Lucifer’s level?

No, that’s impossible unless…

Damn it, Samael!

You…” She couldn’t even express what she felt, after all…

She was on the battlefield when Lucifer fought the heavenly army with its hordes of demons.

And of course…

She saw all kinds of cruelty in the world in that war…
