Chapter 302: Back On Earth
Chrises stood behind the counter with a bright, warm smile spreading across her face. Her hands moved with care as she opened the cash register and placed the fifty gold coins inside.
The coins clinked softly against each other, and she closed the drawer with gentle satisfaction. She let out a soft breath, the kind that came from genuine relief and happiness.
Her first customer, her first sale and not just one Lucid, but five.
It felt like the store had finally taken its first real step into Velaris.
She rested her palms over the counter for a moment, letting her excitement settle in her chest. She kept replaying the moment in her head. If Liam had been beside her, she would have shown him the biggest smile she had.
She hoped more people would come after him. She hoped momentum would build. She hoped the whole district would start whispering about the mysterious shop.
But hopes did not always match reality.
The hours passed slowly. People walked by the shop again and again. Some of them even stood for a few seconds and stared at the transparent doors. Yet none of them stepped inside.
The morning grew into afternoon, and the afternoon slipped into late evening. Still no one came.
Chrises tapped her thigh lightly with her fingers. That tiny habit returned each time she grew anxious. She stared at the empty entrance, as the street outside started to dim with the fading sunlight. She had started the day bubbling with energy and confidence. Now she felt something heavy pressing against her chest.
She was trying her best to stay calm, but the silence around her made it hard.
When the glass reflected the darkening sky, she finally checked the time using the small control panel embedded into the counter, and she saw that it was time to close the store.
She straightened herself. She wanted to at least finish the day the way Liam taught her. With steady hands, she slid the opaqueness bar upward. The glass doors shifted from clear to solid white. The store went from bright and open to closed and private.
Just as she finished, she turned and saw the bedroom door open, and Liam walked out.
Chrises greeted him politely, trying to keep her expression neutral even though he had definitely seen her mood through the surveillance systems.
Liam nodded back at her and walked toward the door. They stepped outside together as the doors shut behind them with a soft beep, locking the store completely.
“Let’s have dinner,” Liam said.
Chrises nodded. She followed beside him through the street, but she moved more slowly than usual. Her face seemed blank, almost distant, as if her thoughts were far away.
Liam noticed it and smiled faintly. He wasn’t sure what she was thinking about but he felt that it was related to how the day went. And he decided to lift her spirit.
“You don’t need to worry yourself,” he said calmly. “Only one came today, but it doesn’t mean anything. Sales will pick up. This is normal.”
Chrises nodded, though her voice came out small. “I know… I just hoped it would have been better.”
Liam nodded in understanding, and the two walked the rest of the way in silence. The evening air felt cool. Lanterns glowed along the streets, casting steady golden light across the stone paths.
As they walked, Chrises suddenly remembered something she had completely forgotten in the excitement of getting her first customer—who ended up being her only customer for the day. She hadn’t added money to his account.
It wasn’t her fault, though. To add money, she needed the user ID of the person, and the young master had left before she even thought of it. She sighed softly at the realization.
Still, it wasn’t all bad. The Lucid’s call function would work without any credits, so he and his guards could use that much for now. She just hoped he would return tomorrow so she could add the money for him. Only then would he be able to enjoy the device fully.
The restaurant was warm and lively when they entered. People talked in small groups. Liam and Chrises sat at the same table as in the morning. He ordered calmly, and she followed his lead, though her thoughts were nowhere near the menu.
As they waited for their food, her mind drifted back to the store again and again. She wondered if she should have changed the glass settings earlier. She wondered if she should have stepped outside to invite someone in. She wondered if she should have explained the device to passersby. She wondered if she should have done more.
When their meal was served, Liam ate with his usual calm pace. Chrises ate too, but her bites were small, almost careful. Liam saw it but said nothin, aware that this was a lesson she needed to learn on her own. Besides, be has nothing more to say that will help.
When they stepped out of the restaurant after dinner, the night was darker and fewer people walked the streets. They started heading toward the inn, and Liam finally spoke.
“You don’t have to worry about your safety,” he said. “When you’re not in the store, a company droid will watch over you. It won’t show itself unless you’re facing real danger.”
Chrises nodded with full trust. She understood exactly what that meant. Liam was about to leave. She didn’t know when he would return to Velaris. Maybe days, maybe months. But she had already decided she would not slow down because of his absence.
He glanced at her. “Just do your best. Ask Lucy whenever you’re unsure.”
She nodded again, soaking in every word.
Then, without any dramatic buildup, Liam vanished from the spot.
Chrises didn’t flinch. She didn’t widen her eyes. She didn’t look scared. Instead, she smiled softly and spoke into the empty air.
“I will do my best, master.”
She turned and walked into the inn with renewed determination.

The air shifted sharply as Liam appeared right above Burj Khalifa and below him, Dubai spread out like a glowing map.
The warm desert air touched his clothes and hair, a complete contrast to Velaris’ cool night breeze.
Liam took a slow breath. The world here felt almost frozen in comparison. Not because it was slow, but because nothing had changed. Earth time had barely moved since he left, as he had been for almost the whole day, while he had spent a total of four days in both dimensions.
He smiled to himself, amused by the contrast.
In two days, he would leave Dubai and begin exploring Earth on his own terms, but that will be after his meeting with the CEO of JP Morgan.
As for how he will travel to back to USA for the meeting, he had decided to take advantage of his flight and Dimensional Hopping ability. It will be faster and easier than a plane.
Liam looked down at the city again. Life moved under him in steady rhythms. He watched cars flowing like rivers of light. He watched people moving through malls and streets. He watched planes landing at the airport in the distance.
Everything looked normal, peaceful and small…
His meeting with the Qatari representative would take place tomorrow. After that, he would have no more obligations in the Middle East.
Liam tilted his body forward and started flying towards the ocean, deciding to fly around a little before going back to the apartment.
