Chapter 289: Storm Shadow
Master Han stood frozen as Liam’s casual tone still echoed in his ears.
“Well, the weapon came out nicely.”
Nicely?! He stared at the gleaming spear in Liam’s hand and he felt his knees weaken again.
Nicely…? That wasn’t a “nice” weapon.
Master Han knew that the spear was at least a mid-grade Earth Rank weapon. Possibly high grade.
And only a Rank 2 blacksmith could forge an Earth Rank. But a mid-grade Earth Rank? That was already brushing the boundary of Rank 3. A level even major cities rarely had. A level that large clans competed for.
Yet this boy… This boy who said yesterday was his FIRST TIME touching a hammer… had forged it like it was nothing.
Master Han felt something inside him crack. Like an invisible barrier shattered in his heart as awe swallowed him whole.
He lowered his head, exhaled deeply, and forced himself not to overthink it. If he kept chasing the “how,” he would go insane. Some things were simply not meant to be understood.
He stepped forward slowly, swallowing his shock, and asked, “Liam… what name will you give it?”
Liam blinked and swung the spear one more time. The blade cut the air smoothly. He looked at the faint image of the coiled python etched onto the blade.
He thought for a moment. His naming sense was… not the best. But this was his creation. He had to name it.
After a few seconds of thinking, he said, “Storm Shadow.”
Master Han nodded with complete seriousness, “It is a good name.”
Liam laughed quietly, as he felt like he was being flattered.
“Can… can I hold it?” Master Han asked, voice shaking slightly.
Liam nodded and handed the spear over.
The old blacksmith held the weapon with both hands like it was a newborn child. His eyes trembled as he ran his fingers along the shaft.
He slowly injected qi into the weapon and the reaction was instant.
Lightning tendrils slithered across the spear like living creatures, wrapping around the shaft and blade. They rose and fell, flickering with soft crackles.
“…Unbelievable,” Master Han whispered.
He couldn’t pull his eyes away. He found it to be extremely difficult.
“Perfect. This weapon is perfect” he whispered again, but in a louder voice.
Liam gave a small smile at Master Han’s reaction.
While Master Han admired the spear, he turned toward the doorway. Through it, he saw the evening sky bleeding into dusk.
He hadn’t realized how long he had been forging. He checked his watch and raised a brow and he saw that five hours had passed on Earth, which meant it was already noon over there.
Since it was already late, he can’t forge the katana today. He would have to leave it until next time.
“I should head to Velaris soon,” Liam muttered. “Maybe spend a day or two there.”
He turned back to Master Han, who reluctantly handed the spear back to him.
“I don’t suppose you plan to sell it,” Master Han said with a soft chuckle.
“No,” Liam answered.
Master Han nodded. “If you did sell it, the minimum price would be six hundred thousand gold coins. Or six hundred low-grade spirit stones.”
Liam nodded calmly, but with an uninterested look on his face. It was tempting money… but he wasn’t letting Storm Shadow go. Not yet, at least.
He slipped the spear into the Dimensional Space, along with the container of Thunder Python blood. He took his jacket from the hook.
“Thank you for letting me use your forge,” Liam said. “And sorry for occupying it the whole day.”
Master Han waved his hands quickly. “No, no, no. Liam, you don’t ever need to thank me. And you NEVER have to apologize. I meant it when I said the forge is always open to you.”
Liam nodded with a small, genuine smile. “Then I’ll definitely come back.”
Master Han bowed slightly. “I will look forward to the lessons I gain from watching you.”
Liam smiled and stepped out of the forge.
Master Han and Luo watched his figure grow smaller as he headed down the street. The fading light of dusk cast long shadows behind him.
Luo whispered, “Master… at this rate… he’ll leave us in the dust.”
Master Han chuckled softly, eyes shining with both admiration and helplessness.
“He already has.”

Meanwhile, Liam headed back toward the inn, but he decided to stop at a restaurant first, since he was starving. He noticed that people were still staring at him and that the number of eyes watching him had increased compared to the morning. He ignored all of it and continued walking.
He walked to a nearby restaurant and stepped inside. Warm light washed over him, as 5he smell of meat and broth hit him instantly.
He sat down and but he wasn’t even given a few seconds or was allowed even the chance to call the waitress, when a group of five people suddenly swarmed the table, blocking the light.
Liam slowly looked up and he saw five men, all young, muscular, wearing matching outfits. The one at the front had a massive sword resting on his shoulder like it weighed nothing. And they were all glaring down at him.
Liam glanced at the sword, then at the man. Then he muttered under his breath, “How intimidating…”
The leader’s brow twitched.
“You—are you the one who killed the city lord and wiped out the Blackstone branch of the Devouring Petal Pavilion?”
Liam tilted his head slightly and asked,”What if I am?”
The leader smirked and lifted his chin. “Then I’ll need to test your strength, to see if the rumors are true.”
Liam stared at him blankly. It was like he was looking at a fool. He couldn’t help but think if 99% of the people in the cultivation world are brain-dead or something.
“I’m not in the mood,” he said, with a tired sigh.
That answer and Liam’s tone clearly offended the man, as his expression darkened instantly.
“You should come with us quietly,” he said with a low threatening voice, “or you’ll regret it.”
Liam sighed, looking at the five of them with the same tired expression a teacher gives misbehaving children.
“You people… never learn.”
With a single thought, the spear appeared in his hand, lightning already swirling around it like a living storm.
The men’s eyes widened in fear.
Liam didn’t stand slowly. He rose in one clean, fluid motion, and the spear moved.
A single sweeping strike of lightning wrapped wooden part of the spear cut across the air like a whip. A blinding blue arc flashed across the hall.
FWOOOM!!
The five men were lifted off their feet instantly, thrown backward like dolls, sent flying through the door and shattering it into splinters.
They hit the street outside and collapsed in a heap. All five of them foamed at the mouth and passed out, twitching violently as lightning lingered in their bodies.
The restaurant went dead silent. Liam calmly made the spear vanish again and sat back down.
He looked toward the waitress who was staring at him in shock, and raised a hand politely.
“Can I order now?”
